Rating: Summary: Just plain amazing Review: I am a fourteen year old girl who doesn't like to read, but I had a book report that I HAD to do. My mother had the book Tuesdays With Morrie laying around the house and I chose to read it for my report. I picked it up on Saturday night and I was done by eleven o'clock the next morning. I mean, for any regular person this would not be a big deal, but this was the only book in a long time that I have read, and I loved it. The story was so realistic that anyone of any age could adapt to. From me, the fourteen year old, to my mother, who would be relating to Mitch, and all the way to older people who could sympathize with what Morrie was going through. It was really amazing!
Rating: Summary: A book I shared with my family and friends Review: I had read the Chinese version of "Tuesdays with Morrie" twice half a year ago. I love this book so much that I decides to buy the original (English) version and read it again. The words touched me and inspired me. I would like to share this book with my family and friends.
Rating: Summary: A must-read for anyone searching for a "meaning of life" Review: Thought this book would be a no-brainer--it was on loan from a friend and I hadn't even asked to read it. Now I have to "own" this one. Once every so many years, a book comes along that you feel obligated to share with as many people as possible, and this one is it for me. I actually copied some of the excerpts in my "book" journal and reread frequently. This book touches on many issues and opportunities in life, love, and even death, and anyone who reads this book with an open mind (and an open heart) will not be disappointed, and will be enriched beyond words.
Rating: Summary: Essential for every bookshelf Review: An interesting book that's considered almost essential to every bookshelf. If we're meek and teachable, we can always learn from the wisdom of others, especially from folks that have been there. And 'Tuesdays with Morrie' is full with great gems of wisdom. In fact, it can be very beneficial to have a mentor and this book offers it. Another book that has helped me tremendously and offers important lessons for life and gems of wisdom, especially in chapters such as 'Objective Truth,' 'More than Conquerors,' and 'A perfect life' is Dietmar Scherf's practical handbook for living, "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression" which is also sold at Amazon.
Rating: Summary: Touching, filled with wisdom and guidance Review: A Beutifully written book. I laughed and cried. My heart was warmed. I fell in love with Morrie. Thank you Mitch for sharing your experience and Morries'. What a couragous soul. So wise and compassionate. What a teacher. Great Book!
Rating: Summary: very disappointed! Review: I was very disappointed with this book. Very. While Morrie appears to have been a kind and gentle man, there's nothing unique about his "special" insight (we should all love another). Prophets since the beginning of time have been telling us this. I also found the author's attitude rather self-serving: I think he smelled a "story" here and went for it. Well, he apparently has sold a bunch of books, so he was right, there was a "story" there.

AND ABOUT NOT GETTING LOST IN YOUR WORRIES - - ALSO THEY TALK ABOUT THE DYING OF ONE OF THE AUTHOR'S MOTHERS - BEAUTIFUL WRITING! TAUGHT ME ALOT AND REALLY CHANGED MY LIFE! Rating: Summary: Did Albom Follow Up Morrie's Last Lesson? Review: This was a wonderful book. A primer for life. Should be read by everyone who has a heart. But, I wonder if Mitch really knew WHY Morrie wanted him to visit his grave on Tuesdays? In On the Fourteenth Tuesday Mitch reveals two of Morrie's lessons that he has heard, but one cannot help but come away wondering if he listened? Did he realize the great lesson Morrie KNEW he could teach from the grave? "You talk, I'll listen" was not an offer, it was a command. I think there is a sequel in here that can reach from the heart to the soul if the author really learned.
Rating: Summary: Albom captures the message but at times misses the point. Review: "Tuesdays with Morrie" is an absorbing novel that displays Mitch Albom's true strength, reporting what he hears and sees with accuracy and feeling. Through his last days Morrie works with his 'student' trying to communicate what he sees as the most important aspects of life - relationships. The interaction with others builds the identity you call your own. Ironically the pages turn quickly but when the read is over, there is a sense of loss... and absence. When Morrie is gone, Albom seems to miss the fundamental point of Morrie's message. We become an integral part of everyone with whom we connect, and they of us. The search for what it means ends when one of the players stops participating. By definition, when we share our feelings of loss, we change the variables. That's life. Great story, well reported.
Rating: Summary: It is a fabulous book!! Review: Tuesdays With Morrie really helped me see what life was all about. After reading the book you feel like you really knew Morrie, and had to go through everything with him. I would recommend this to people of all ages. It really helps people see a good side of the world....Life. It tells you that life is the most precious thing in the world.
