Rating: Summary: A story of the human soul... Review: One of my associates at work recommended this because he took a class at Brandeis with "Morrie". I bought the book and could not put it down. Albom's personal story of his professor Morrie Schwartz carefully portrays life and death from both the eyes of a young healthy author coming back to interview his dying mentor. Wonderful!!!Ken Giuffre MD, author, "The Care and Feeding of Your Brain"
Rating: Summary: moving Review: the story of morrie's and mitch's lessons together brought me to tears many times during my reading of this biography. i suggest it to anyone who has lost or is in the process of losing a loved one, also to anyone who loves inspirational stories on actual lives lived.
Rating: Summary: If you only want to cry, read it. Review: This book is written to make you cry. I have read that it makes you reconsider your life, but in my opinion it is so a personal story that you can only reconsider the author's life, that you actually don't know.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: Tuesday's with Morrie, is a wonderful piece of sentimental literature. The author Mitch obviously does not hear the poetic words of wisdom of Morrie. The author's, self proclaimed mentor. I wonder if the author Mitch, will search for another (self seving)mentor and leach the potential financial profits for writing another sentimental life's journey of a story and then sell the television rights for his own financial gain? Happy readings to all whom read "Tuesdays with Morrie".
Rating: Summary: A Lost Love found Review: This is a love story about two men who found each other after a lifetime apart. The younger of the two has been searching for something and he finds it when a chance viewing of a TV program leads him back to his favorite college professor. This book will open your mind and your heart to thoughts that you probably always had, but didn't allow yourself to voice or feel. Everyone has something valuable to gain from reading this story. Give it to anyone who you love as a gift.
Rating: Summary: Heartfelt insight! Review: Phantastically written, Tuesdays with Morrie is a must-read. It will warm your heart as the conversations go on about various subjects in life. This book will probably serve to heal relationships and make you appreciate every day that you live--that's what it did for me. The advice, even wisdom, communicated in this book can be appreciated especially by those that apply it in real life. Another book that I found that is along the same lines and has helped me tremendously, as it is encouraging, positive and peppered with pearls of wisdom throughout, is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression"--also available at Amazon.
Rating: Summary: You'll never find a book as deserving to be read as this one Review: I've never been able to label any book I've read as "profound," but after reading Tuesdays With Morrie my entire process of assessing relationships and communication has changed. If ever there was a book that screamed "slow down, and really appreciate every day you live and breathe," it's this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Books Ever Written Review: I was given the book and just put it aside. When I finally did read it, I could not put it down. It is a great book for anyone who has suffered the loss of either a close friend or a loved one. After reading this book I have taken a whole new approach towards the way I view life and my priorties. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!!!! Review: It makes you stop and re-evaluate your life and how you are living it. You will need a tissue box when you finish.
Rating: Summary: It makes you cry, it makes you laugh, it enlightens you. Review: I have not read a book of this magnitude in a long time. Prof. Morrie was an amazing human being. He had the secret to inner peace, tranquility and love. What insight this man had into human nature. What love he had for even the smallest events. He saw the best and, therefore received the best from those around him. A MUST READ. How minor most things real are in life when you look at the whole picture. I have received serenity from reading this book. I no longer stress nonsense and seek to surround myself with positive people who can give and take (not just take).
