Summary: Kind and sweet--an excellent book!
Review: In a sense the book is sad because of its ending, but nevertheless it is a great read. The anecdotes are kind and sweet, and the writing is truly excellent. It touches the heart and most readers will shed a tear here and there. After reading this book we will have received valuable insight and useful wisdom that we can apply in our lives. Another book that I really liked and has helped me immensely as it is a great handbook for living and contains many pearls of wisdom, is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression" which is also available at Amazon.com

Summary: There's power in simplicity.
Review: I was deeply moved when I read "tuesdays with Morrie". Beautiful thoughts, simple prose, full of insights about life and death. It's really a book for the living, not about the dead. It's a parting shot at all of us who think being Number One is the only thing in life. Come to think of it, what's really wrong in being Number 2? Good read.

Summary: A Heart Touching Book about Life and Death
Review: Tuesdays was an excellent book which deals with simple and common issues of everyday life. It simplifies the complexities of life and death. It also reminds us that although we may be living life in the fast lane, it's wise to stop and smell the roses as well as the manure. Morrie does not exemplify the "perfect" being, he tries to be a good person and realizes his short comings and tries to pass this along to his friend. But he is not preaching, he is only showing and guiding. Also the simplicity with which Albom writes enhances the simple lessons of Morrie and also takes those complex issues and simplifies them.

Summary: ONE FANTASTIC BOOK
Review: This book touched my heart in a million ways. ..the idea that love never ends between two people, that one can be the best medicine for another who is dying, that life is full of good when we least expect it, and that good is often as simple as another person's love.

If you liked this book, or want to read one that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift!

Summary: Heart warming
Review: I never realized the importance of saying good bye, before I read this book. It was a remarkable look at the process of dying, and of living. Tuesdays With Morrie made me weep for the death of Morrie, and for the death of my own grandfather. Although the books focus is in fact on death, it inspires the reader to be greatful and enjoy life.

Summary: Moving, But Too Brief To Be Useful
Review: It's difficult, and perhaps unkind, to say anything negative about this book. Morrie Schwartz showed a remarkable courage facing his difficult death, and Mitch Albom cares a great deal about Morrie. Morrie's words ring true, and if we all followed them, we'd be better off. But too little space (and depth) is devoted to each idea, and too little recognition is given to the difficulty of changing oneself for the better. As a result, it's unlikely that Morrie's words will have a lasting effect on anyone. This is the kind of book that one reads, nods sagely at the advice, sheds a tear or two--and then goes on behaving exactly as before.

Summary: a touching heart-felt story
Review: This book was the best book I have read in years; it was a fast moving story, a true story & a sad but humerous story. The contents of the story were so touching. I could feel what I was reading. Believe me, I shed a lot of tears knowing the end of the story would be coming with his death & trying to feel what the writer Mitch was feeling. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone & it would make a great gift to anyone.
