Rating: Summary: Wonderful and Inspiring Story Review: This is an incredible story of a young man trying to find meaning in this fast-paced world which does not allow for time to think about what is really important. Mich Albom actually came to my temple to speak and I was so inspired by his story of his old college professor, Morrie, that I ran to buy the book. Once I began reading, I found that I couldn't put the book down! I have been searching for the meaning in my life for a long time and this book truly helped me to get my priorities straight. All in all, it is well written. Mich Albom brings Morrie's personality and wisdom to life. I came out of reading the book feeling that I really knew Morrie and I was at his side listening to him. Please do not hesitate to buy this wonderful book. It incorporates a true, beautiful story and life's most important lessons.
Rating: Summary: Glad for Tuesday People Review: Have had the book for one year. Wanted to read it and sat down this weekend and could not put it down. I could not have made a better choice for Thanksgiving weekend to read such a book of thanksgiving and putting words to the celebration of life...I now would like to get this book for every "Tuesday person" I have and hope that each of them has a "Tuesday person," too.A page turner that puts a face on what life is all about in a celebratory way that teaches lessons that each of us should be grateful to learn before we become terminally ill!
Rating: Summary: Buy this book for everyone you love. Review: Tuesdays With Morrie is one of the best guidebooks for life you will read. Unlike so many so-called self-help books, this is the genuine article: it is a book that was lived by real persons. Morrie's message is simply to stop wasting the time you are given in this life. Make that great connection now. Love, pick up the phone, write a letter, smile at someone who is hurting, but do it now. After I put down the book I honestly got up off the couch and made a call I'd been meaning to make, but hadn't gotten around to. Tuesdays with Morrie is a book for all the days of your life. Give it to all your friends, but deliver it in person. Morrie's out there smiling at you.
Rating: Summary: Important Lessons Review: This book explores the ending of life and reveiws many of life's lessons. Morrie was a man who always seemed to follow his heart and really enjoy life. His lessons for life are good for anyone at any age. Immediately after reading this book, I gave it to my father, who also thought it was a great work. I have always enjoyed Mitch Albom's wtiting and once again, he gets you emotionally involved! Awesome
Rating: Summary: morrie had it together Review: This book moved me to rethink what life is all about. What's important and what isn't. Morrie had a lesson for all of us, not just the author. I am compelled to share my newfound feelings with my children, and will definately share this wonderful book with them during the holiday season. Isn't love a wonderful thing!
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ! Review: It took me over one year to finally read this book. I just did not want to even think about another of those slim, self-help philosophy of life primers. But on page one, I was caught! This book is a MUST READ for everyone. I, literally, cannot think of anyone who would not be moved and, hopefully, changed by the work done by these two men, chatting while one of them prepares for death.
Rating: Summary: This is a great story that you want to read Review: After reading this book I can't wait for the movie. An old guy teaches a young guy the lessons of life, but the young guy doesn't listen, and only later in life he adheres to the wise advice. While the ending is sad, this ending was expected from the beginning of the book anyway. Sure, you're gonna shed some tears, but any attentive reader can unearth treasures of advice for life. Another book that I found very interesting as it contains also this type of mentor mentality with much helpful advice is Dietmar Scherf's 'I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression'-- also sold at Amazon.
Rating: Summary: Compelling Mirror on Middle Age Review: This was an interested book that for me was as the title tag line says about "...An Old Man, a Young Man..." As a man approaching middle age, the author's reactions and feelings as he responded to Morrie's strong life spirit even in dying rang true. What I didn't get, was any deep sense of where the author went with new perpectives on life the Morrie brought about in him. Clearly, he was touched, but what did he change in his life?. Maybe in his next book...
Rating: Summary: Enriching Review: This was an excellent book for those who are continually looking for motivation and self-improvement. Add to your collection of other motivating tools.
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming and Alive Review: I began to read this book after my father passed away from ALS. It was one of the hardest reads of my life. I am glad that the book did not focus on this horrible disease. If you know anyone that has lived through this disease, you would appreciate Morries zest for life until the end. This book changed my life and it will change others , if you open your heart to it.
