Rating: Summary: Brillant Review: This book is not only entertaining, it is the best life lesson I have ever come into contact. To read the wonderful prose of Morrie's intelligence, was so emotional. It made me smile, laugh, and cry. Simply stated and supremely written.
Rating: Summary: More than a book, a treasure - Life changing-Life affirming Review: I read this book quite some time ago, but seeing the movie reminded me of how much it affected me. I would not want anyone to miss the opportunity that reading this book affords us to evaluate our lives and to face the reality of whether or not we are truly living the lives that we want. I keep this book in sight on my coffee table because I like having Morrie and Mitch around the house; they inspire me.
Rating: Summary: Lessons on Living Review: Morrie's wisdom is abolutely amazing. As a dying sociology professor he teaches his last course in this book. He teaches that which he feels is most important to one's life. From his short aphorisms to his stories to his favorite poetry, this book is unforgettable. Many have said it's "touchy, feely" but I think Morrie understood life in a wonderful way that I can sincerely thank Mitch Albom for sharing. The book was not "touchy, feely" but realistic, something that cuts right to the human heart. Give your heart a present and register for Morrie's last class-- read this book!
Rating: Summary: TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE Review: This was a wonderful insperational story by Mitch Albom. It made me look very carefuly at my life and has inspired me to be a more truthfull loving person. I cried during several parts of this book, it truly touched me and I will always be gratefull to Mitch for this great story.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book Review: This was a very good book. It really made me think about this crazy world we live in today. Excellent reading.
Rating: Summary: A great story for the season Review: This book is probably one of the best Christmas gifts you can give this year. It's a loving story of an old man, who's dying, and a young man chasing the American dream, and finally he's learning the most important lesson in life. Together with purchasing this book, you may also want to consider to give another book that also deals with the most important issues in life, to your sad friends, which is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding and Overcoming Depression" also at Amazon.
Rating: Summary: Philosophical Advice for the Ages Review: This book is the true definition of an inspiration. It taught me many valuable lessons that I hope to one day pass on to my children. I constantly quote Morrie and love his philosophies on everything from dying to love. I recommend this book to people of all ages that have ever had a teacher that you admired. It is a must read!
Rating: Summary: A true inspiration Review: It is no surprise that this book has been on the best seller list for over two years! It is more a book about living than a book about dying. Morrie teaches us how to live our lives and be fully human. He does not preach, but you can't help but be inspired by the hope and acceptance he maintains while he slowly dies of Lou Gerhig's Disease. This is a wonderful book for the holidays, for someone who has experienced a loss, or for anyone who just wants a feel-good book. Since this is a true story, based on interviews, it is more realistic and less cheesy than other inspirational books. A must-read!
Rating: Summary: A must read! Review: Albom captures the essence of reality in this quick read about his former professor, Morrie. I have read this book numerous times since it was first released. It moved me to the point of purchasing this book over and over again for friends, family, and even professors that needed to hear, see, and experience Morrie. Well done!
Rating: Summary: Emotional rollercoaster Review: A masterpiece. I have never read a book that I felt so many emotions at one time Mitch Albom is a genius if not for a better word. I was reminded of my mother who had cancer throughout her body and how I just buried her a month ago. Mitch you are tuly magnificent you have helped me through a very difficult period in my life by learning I did make the right decision to honor my mothers wishes to respect her desire to expire at home. God bless you with your future books.
