Summary: OK
Review: The Triumph and the Glory was better, so was Havana Bay and The Eleventh Commandment. I agree with the earlier reviewer who thought the earlier books were also all better than Certain Prey. Sandford just seemed to be going through the motions on this one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely Intriguing & unique.,By-Far Sandford's Best.
Review: I read everything by John Sandford. Some titles I have had to struggle to finish, but I couldn't put this one down. Uniquely written, nice twists, of a well loved Lucas Davenport. A worth wile read. Sandford's Best!!!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: unrealistic, superficial development of plot & characters
Review: It's hard to believe this is a NYT bestseller - the plot is so unrealistic its tough to keep reading - the story is NOT PLAUSIBLE - the characters are laughable. I do not recommend this book: not even for light summer reading.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: I expect more from this series!
Review: For Lucas Davenport fans, I don't think this one will do. We have little or no details about his life, his relationship with Marcy Sherrill is off but we're not sure why, and we haven't even gotten over the breakup with Weather yet! The story is pretty silly, and countless individuals are wasted unnecessarily, including an innocent bystander at the end while Lucas is chasing down the "villain" - a female lawyer he previously was attracted to. There is only a glimmer of the great dialogue and fooling around among Lucas' co-workers and staff, although the FBI duo are a bit interesting. The only character gem is Rinker, and I'll admit she's engaging, but it's hard to really enjoy someone who tortures folks for a living. We want more of Lucas, though, and less silliness. PLEASE!

Summary: Certain Prey is a disappoint to Lucas Davenport fans.
Review: I was so looking forward to this latest in the Prey series. Unfortunately, Certain Prey isn't up to the standards of the others in the series. Sandford's villains usually give me the creeps and I root for Davenport and his cronies to get the bad guys. I disliked Carmel Loan from the git go. Disliked her to the point that I was bored spending time with her. I didn't care if Davenport caught her. I just wanted her gone. The other hit lady, Clara Rinker, was plain dull. I was disappointed in this novel.

Summary: Best of the Prey Books
Review: I personally thought this Prey book was the best one yet. I finished it in less than 2 days and found it impossible to put down. It grabbed me from the beginning. I loved it.

Summary: Thriller lite
Review: "Huh"

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not up to his usual standards
Review: If you want to read a terrific novel, try one of Sanford's earlier books, or check out one of the fine new books out this summer. I tossed CERTAIN PREY aside half-finished and read THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY, a riveting, suspense-filled novel set during the Second World War. Maybe you have the patience to finish books that have proven mediocre, but I don't. I have better ways to spend my time, such as reading GOOD books.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Disappointing. I missed Lucas Davenport.
Review: I missed Lucas's love life, was very disappointed to find that he and Sherrill broke up somewhere between the end of the last book and the beginning of this one. I also missed the interplay and relationship between Lucas and his squad.

Clara was an interesting villain, but if she comes back, I hope Sandford brings the old Davenport back too.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An OUTSTANDING Sanford Read
Review: I have to say, this was one of my favorites. All of Sanford's Prey novels are great, but this one really kept me going. I couldn't put it down. Lucas has definitely lightened up a bit and actually has a sense of humor. Great fun to read and a great ending! Sanford leaves you wanting more!
