Summary: EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT IRISH, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SERIES!
Review: I loved "Jewels of the Sun," the first installment in this Irish trilogy. "Tears of the Moon" does not lessen the pace of this continuing story. In fact, I found it to be even better. Nora Roberts draws her readers right into the heart of her story. Her characters are so well-developed that, in this instance, the Gallaghers and the O'Tooles began to seem like members of my own family. I felt a need to help resolve the conflicts between Brenna and Shawn, the young lovers. I wanted to ease Mary Kate's feelings of jealousy and betrayal. I felt Mollie's and Mick's parental concerns. Having learned to love the Gallaghers through the romance of Aidan and Jude, reading this book was like a visit with beloved relatives after months of absence. I am already looking forward to "Heart of the Sea," to learn what happens between Darcy and Trevor. The "teaser" chapter from "Heart of the Sea" at the end of the book was just enough to whet my appetite for more. I am torn between wanting this series to continue indefinitely (with perhaps a story featuring each inhabitant of the lovely little village of Ardmore) and the desire to end the curse of the centuries-old estrangement of Lady Gwen and Prince Carrick and bring their suffering to a close. Lady Gwen and Prince Carrick add just the right amount of magic and mystery for which the Irish are so well-known. Norah Roberts' descriptions of Ardmore and surrounding countryside makes Ireland come alive in these books and makes her readers feel as if they've been there . Being of Irish extraction, it makes me "homesick" even though I've never had the pleasure of actually visiting there. BRING ON "HEART OF THE SEA! "

Summary: Truly Romantic
Review: I am a big fan of Nora Roberts and this story is truly one of her best. You feel like you are right there with them experiencing what they are. It's refreshing the way Ms Roberts makes her male characters sensitive and romantic. They're not afraid of emotions. I will read this story as well as the first in the trilogy over and over again. I can't wait for the third in the series.

Summary: Can't wait for Saphires!
Review: This book was wonderful! I can't wait for the third in the series. It is so cleverly written and has such warm characters. The Irish world of magic thrown in with the contemporary romance is very well done. Nora Roberts, thank you for such a heartwarming series.

Summary: A Fun Romance
Review: "Tears of the Moon" is just as wonderful as "Jewels of the Sun". Shawn and Brenna are a perfect match, and as usual, neither one of them knows it. This book contains all the heart and humor of a Nora Roberts romance. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a fun romance.

Summary: Tears of the Moom
Review: After reading Jewels of the Sun, I couldn't get enough of the Gallaghers or Prince Carrick or Lady Gwen. Now that I have read Tears of the Moon I know I will be waiting with baited breath for the last of this outstanding trilogy. This is one set of books where after the happy couple fall in love and get married you not only find out whats in store for the next couple but....what happens next with the last. Nora Roberts is by far the best of her genre!

Summary: Slightly Disappointing
Review: To be honest, this book really didn't live up to my expectations. Something about Shawn and Brenna's relationship didn't sit right with me. They didn't seem to click the way Jude and Aidan did in the first book. This one seemed just to serve as a transition between the first in the series and the last. It was good, but there was something lacking.

Summary: TEARS OF THE MOON EXUDES LULLING CHARM
Review: After the stunning predecessor Jewels of the Sun, Nora Roberts returns with Tears of the Moon with a sparkle of lulling Irish charms in the village of Ardmore with Brenna O'Toole and Max Gallagher.

The raving accolades are justified; Ms. Roberts has crafted a fiercely independent heroine who dares to boldly express her love for Max, and Max has yet understand the power of love, blinded by his lack of faith for his talent in music. However, the romance behind the dreamy backdrop of hovering fairies of Lady Gwen and Prince Carrick and their tragic unrequited love is secondary. The dissection of human relationships and moral dilemma is more resonant than the romance.

The maturity in Brenna's persuasion for her sister, Mary Kate to give up on Max bespoke the character's wisdom in the underlying moral dilemma. Brenna is prepared to compromise her love for Mary Kate for the relationship with Max, but later realizes that love cannot be substituted with empathy. Nora Roberts paints a vivid landscape in the heartland of the Irish family and TEARS OF THE MOON exudes a vintage lulling charm that is no less sublime.

The book is neither perfect for all its lulling charm - Max's talent in music is not fully expressed; readers who failed to read the first book will have a hard time grappling with some of the happenings in the story. There is love and acceptance - but I do feel the last scene when Brenna asks for Max's forgiveness is utterly unromantic and unnecessary. Given his character development, he should have understood Brenna's intention in selling his music.

Which is why - I am intending to give it a 31/2 stars despite the excellent reviews garnered. No tears of regret though, Ms. Roberts is nevertheless a top-notch writer in her rousing delivery and is capable of achieving greater heights with the next installment of the trilogy.

Summary: Great Book
Review: Brenna is the local handy woman and Shawn is a cook, songwriter, and part owner of the local pub and they have known and liked each other for years. While Shawn is content with this arrangement Brenna is not. So rather than pine for Shawn any longer she decides that the best thing to do is to proposition him and get him out of her system. Shawn however is the romantic sort and while he finds Brenna attractive he is not thrilled by her blunt proposition. Also, he needs a bit to get used to the idea of Brenna as more than friend. So he turns her down. As you can imagine Brenna does not feel good about this 'rejection' and the story moves forward beautifully from there.

Roberts plays with gender roles in Tears of the Moon and does a wonderful job of making her hero masculine even though he acts in a 'traditionally' feminine way. Roberts does the same for her heroine who loves to tinker with machines, build and design houses and could be considered 'romantically challenged'. They both however come across as balanced people even though gender roles have obviously been played with, perhaps precisely because of that.

This is a magical, fun tale set in modern day Ireland. It is the second book in a three book series and all the original story lines are continued. Aiden and Jude have been married for a while and we are given a fun look into their life. The legend and meetings with the Fairy King continue and the end of the book introduces Darcy's love interest, ... sort of. While one need not read the first book to understand this one it does add considerably to the story and if you have not read it yet, pick up Jewels of the Sun.

Summary: Tears of the Moon
Review: I just finished this book and I was very surprised that I thought it was worth a 5 star rating. Most sequels lack the excitment that the first book brings. "Tears of the Moon" was so much better than "Jewels of the Sun". If you like a book where the main charaters are hot tempered and stubborn, instead of scared and wimpy, then this is the book for you. The charaters come to life while you read this book because it is written exactly to how I would react in the same situations and the details make you long to travel to Ireland and find a pub and listen to the music and the way they talk, which is saying alot since I am from the south. I hope "Heart of the Sea" keeps to this pace, because I am so ready for this 3rd sequel to be published.

Summary: You have to read this.
Review: Not only can this lady write but she involves you in the book and you can't stop reading untill you have finished it. This is a great series. I recommend any and all of Nora Robert's books.
