Summary: This guy cracked the code!
Review: I am amazed by this book. I've not finished it yet, but it seems to make so much sense! Very well written and referenced. One wonders why the connection between diet and blood type was not discovered earlier. Simply written, but not oversimplified. Much more than just about diet

Summary: Finally, a diet that recognizes the individual -- Amazing!!!
Review: Dr. D'Adamo has achieved what NO other diet/health book has ...recognized that we are all individuals. "Eat Right 4 Your Type" takes the reader on an amazing journney from the dawn of humankind to the present exploring the role of blood type in human development and offers common sense diets, excercises and tips for living that we can all use. A must read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must read for any health conscious person!
Review: Dr. D'Adamo clearly and concisely traces the evolution of the 4 different blood types and their relationship to diet and health. The author explains in detail the effect diet and exercise have on people of each different blood type. Readers will find customized diets for each blood type with listings of beneficial and detrimental foods for each type. This is clearly not a "one diet fits all" book. I think think this book will answer a lot of questions for people who have tried a lot so called healthy diets with little or no results. The book is well written in a clear and understandable format

Summary: Serialization in "New Woman Magazine"
Review: The upcoming January 1997 issue of "New Woman" magazine features a very concise description of many of the principles described in "Eat Right 4 Your Type."

Summary: This stuff really works
Review: I recently finished Eat Right for a second time to be sure that I was selecting the right foods for my blood type and to understand more about the D'Adamo research. Well, the verdict is in...I've tried the highly beneficial, the neutral and the avoid foods alone and found that I have exactly the types of reactions that were stated in the book. With the beneficial and neutral foods I can exercise longer without breathing problems. With the avoid foods I break out in hives, wow who knew!!! Highly beneficial information, great piece of work.

Summary: It's not just another nutrition book.
Review: I have to disagree with the customer review that stated that this book was just another way of saying, "Eat better and exercise, and you'll lose weight." I have type O blood, and one of the many helpful recommendations Dr. D'Adamo gives is for type O's to avoid wheat, which is quite contrary to most health recommendations. I've tried all my life to eat whole wheat products because health experts recommend it. Little did I know how hindering it was to my body and my weight loss efforts to eat wheat. I also found that not all people benefit from strenuous exercise. For some blood types, yoga and tai chi can be more beneficial than strenuous aerobics. The whole point of this book is that people cannot follow the same diets and exercise programs to get the same results, and I completely agree. If this wasn't true, people who are trying to follow traditional health recommendations for exercise and eating wouldn't be finding themselves overweight and unhealthy, despite their efforts. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is trying to lose weight, reduce stress, and increase their overall health. I have lost weight, but more than that, I am more healthy than I've ever been in my life. I don't believe Dr. D'Adamo would have done such strenuous research, nor would people be doing so well on the diet, if it was just another way of telling people to eat right and exercise.

Summary: Life and Health Improving
Review: I had been a vegetarian for a few years, and my energy level was low. I also was having digestion problems, specifically acid reflux. There were some other problems also. A friend told me about this book, and I bless her. I bought the book, and it was a revelation. I started eating according to the book for my "O" type. I feel a lot better. Half my maternal grandmother's stomach was removed because of bleeding ulcers. Now I don't have to deal with that, just eat right for my type. I am very happy and thankful Dr D'Adamo wrote the books.

Summary: Stick with the facts not theory
Review: I found this book to be filled with a lot of theory that the author tries to push off as fact. The "evolution" of blood type he describes as having to occur quite fast. However evolution doesn't work that quickly. Instead of stating that it COULD be this, he simply goes on with a theory that type A evolved from O almost overnight (evolutionary speaking).

You find these still unproven theory's all throughout the book. He tells you what a Type A blood people did, thought, and acted like when they came about. Complains about how race doesn't exist until you "over simplify" and look at the outside instead of the blood, then he oversimplifies himself by stating YOUR personality will be by your blood type. If that isn't over simplifying I don't know what is.

He even goes as far as blaming Adolf Hitlers rise and fall on his blood type, and claims it was the basis of his madness. (Watch out all you type A's you could be next!)

What I am getting at is that none of these things can be proven-from the low opinions of Hitler to the homeland from which the VERY FIRST person sprung, yet the author bases his reasoning for Blood Type Dieting on all of this!

The science may be there, but the author presents it well if he wants to keep contradiction himself. Base your theories on fact not speculation. I would have been more inclined to accept his conclusions if the path to them was more scientific.

Summary: My last diet
Review: Dr. D'Adamo is a genius!! I would like to thank both him and his father. There are so many things I love about his book. Though Dr. D'Adamo is Type A, he is unsparingly honest about the dangers faced by Type A people, and that intrigued me enough to try it. I threw it aside in disgust, though because he said that Type B (myself and half my family) shouldn't have Chicken/Pork/Shellfish/Tomatoes/Wheat/Corn (The staples of my entire eating life!) I got back on Atkins, and lost for a while, but ran into a brick wall. In despair, I picked up Eat right 4/for your Type, and in THREE DAYS THE AGONIZING PAINS I ENDURED FOR TEN YEARS WERE GONE. Amazing!! I've taken off 77 lbs and everyone I know is begging for my secret. What I like is that the Blood type diet is 4 lifestyles in one, and it cleared up so many mysteries, like why I like golf, and swimming, and hate contact sports with a passion. I went out for volleyball and basketball in school and failed dismally, leaving emotional scars. Who would have thought one book would clear up so many questions. Check out his books on diabetes, arthritis, and cancer, and his hilarious emails on his website.
I received this book for my birthday along with this amazing new beverage as an alternative to coffee. Made from 100% soy that's organic, its absolutely delicious! It's caffeine-free and comes in 8 delicious flavors. Just google it under "s oyfee" to find it and you won't be disappointed.
