Summary: This is the best book I have for healthy eating !
Review: I recommend this book to all my friends asking for help with health problems. One friend reported that after just 2 weeks following your recommendations, she went from being a boarderline diabetic to normal blood sugar range! as for myself, I find that I feel so much better now that I follow the diet for type A. I finally feel that I have found a way of eating that actually gives me positive results. I am so thankful to you, Dr. D'Adamo ND! Keep up the fantastid work, and let me know how to get the latest news on your research! My e mail address is: Meeshe5@AOL.com

Summary: Most common sense book on eating ever!!
Review: Our family & friends have all had a deeply seated experience once we studied enough to see what had gone into the concept. The historic approach and racial experience creating certain gene tendencies is powerful. The reality of one persons food can be another person's poison makes much sense, rather than the long running concept that any healthy food is good for everybody. The scientific approach to this old concept,Hindi Ayervedic thought is similar but not so exact. Wonderful!!

Summary: I've lost weight but I have on other diets too!
Review: I always proceed with caution when I hear about the lastest/greatest, never before discovered finding on weight loss. I feel no different about this diet plan. As a Type A I followed the mostly grains diet and yes, I've lost weight and felt better. But I have also achieved the same results from a high protein/low carb diet where meat was my main staple and which Dr. A'Damo denounces for Type As. I can only concur, from this experience, that processed carbs are the culprit and any diet which excludes them will be successful. Something more about the book that I found questionable is how he feels qualified to ascribe personality traits and exercise routines for different blood types. For example, he states that for type A "heavy competitive sports and exercise will only exhaust your nervous energy...and leave your immune system open to illness or disease". I have yet to read a study that claims Type A's have milder immune systems and should thereforth exercise less intensely. Much of this book's premise lacks evidence so I would not take Dr.D'Adamo recommendations too serious.

Summary: I have never felt better!
Review: Generally, I am fairly skeptical of "diets". This is the first eating plan I have ever followed where I have experienced such incredible results so quickly. Although, overall, I was in good health, I had been suffering from, what I thought were, allergies to various foods, etc. I was taking decongenstants, etc., and becoming very frustrated due to a lack of energy, stuffiness and headaches. I heard two different people discussing this book and decided to check it out, since my next stop was a bunch of allergy tests. I have adhered to the type O diet for about 8 weeks now and have had astonsishing results. Namely, my "allergic" symptoms have disappeared. In addition, I have taken off about 10 pounds "effortlessly". My energy is the highest it has ever been, my afternoon slump - GONE! I feel more calm, less moody and overall - quite healthy. I have gotten rid of all the "avoids" in my house and am closing in on eliminating coffee (which now upsets my stomach a little, but is still tough to give up). Anyone who is in pretty good health overall, but, would like to feel great all the time, should check into this! Not to mention, it is fascinating reading!

Summary: This book changed my life.
Review: I've been involved in competitive aerobic athletics for many years and always "knew" there was something about the way I performed after eating certain foods. I always wondered why there were so many conflicting diets such as high carb, high protien, etc. Well this book has made logical sense of these feelings I have had. I have already lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks and I'm at my optimal weight but more importantly, I feel better and can enjoy certain foods (e.g meats since I'm a type O) that I was told were bad for me. Thanks to Dr. D"Adamo.

Summary: the end all of diet books
Review: I have been through two years of misdiagnosis(depression, anxiety), and been on Paxil for 1.5 years, until I went to a homeopathic DR. who tested my blood and found I was suffering from reactive hypoglycemia. He suggested the "blood type diet", and I have been healthy since. This book corrolates to the diet sheet he gave me and I swear by it, it has saved my life.

Summary: Skeptical? Then research it yourself.
Review: This book was not made for scientific review, it was made for educating the mass-market about differing nutritional requirements for different blood types. For those who think D'Adamo made the whole thing up, I invite you to do a MEDLINE or PUBMED search on ABO types and disease. Go ahead, it won't hurt. Look up blood type O and ulcers, A and heart disease, secretor status and alcoholism. Read a textbook on lectins. Order D'Adamo's lectures on tape, particularly the one he presented to the AANP.

One study says there's no difference between blood types and stomach acid, but if you read further you'll find that they have the same levels of stomach secretions after a meal, but blood types Os reach the highest level a half hour before As do. Don't just sulk and point fingers -- do your homework!

Too lazy for that? Then try the diet for a couple of weeks. Notice how the only negative reviews are from people who didn't try it.

One last thought. What are the ABO blood types based on? They're based on the antibodies in your blood. Gee, do antibodies have anything to do with the immune system? Face the facts, our bodies don't all react the same way to the same foods, stress, or environments. Eat right for your body.

Summary: This book has changed the way I eat and think forever!
Review: This book taught me that SO many of our ailments come from the food we put in our bodies, and likewise, can be healed or prevented by eating right. Even if you're skeptic initially about foods being compatible/incompatible with blood types, you'll see proof if you follow this way of life. Your system immediately begins flushing out toxins, and you find renewed energy, immunity, and health. This book is easy to understand and lovingly written, by a naturopathic physician with a wholistic approach to health. If you're serious about improving your health or are fighting disease, this book is for you.
