Summary: the information in his book has given me a whole new life.t
Review: the title of this book drew me to it. The information is given in an easy to read and follow format. I was so eager to get my family on it (we are all O's) that I bought copies forthem. I am fortunately able to grow a lot of my own food, but cannot buy organicbeef or chicken here. The explanation of Highly Beneficial foods beingmedicine; neutral food being just food; and avoid food as being poison needed to be in large, underlined print, as I somehow missed it the first reading.

Summary: Stomach Acid Reflux Disease Suffers Read Up!
Review: This is an excellent book for many reasons. I've been following the advice for three months now and I've already experienced some health benefits! Symptoms of GERD or stomach acid reflux disease (which long term use of medicines did not cure) have disappeared. Weight loss (without lowering the amount of food intake or adding exercise) has been another benefit. Plus I've seen improvement in skin complexion and overall feeling of well being. It's worth the money and then some. The book should be required reading for health professionals!

Summary: The mystery of ill-health explained.
Review: I would eat supposedly great foods like tomato, chicken, olives, wheat bread, various kinds of fish, etc. etc. and would wonder why I do not feel right. I could not explain why good food seemed like poison to me. My tummy was not too exciting, and my weight was getting up there. I asked GOD for help.

I saw an article in a medical gazette. Checked with my doctor and my blood-type is B. I picked up a copy of Dr. D'Adamo's book.

The results were awesome. After, the first month I knew I had to go take-in my pant's waist. I waited until the second month. After the third month, my pants were driving me nuts.

When I eat the incorrect food, I now know what to expect. The mystery is over!!!

My family is enjoying the book as well. Thanks to Almighty God for making this knowledge possible. Keep up the good work Dr. Peter D'Adamo.

Summary: It Works!
Review: Here's some more anecdotal evidence in support of Dr. D'Adamo's ideas:

I was a vegetarian for 5 1/2 years, basically living on granola and non-fat yogurt, so I was amazed to find that at age 22, although I wasn't at all overweight, I had borderline-high cholesterol. If you've read this book, you can guess the rest--I'm type O, and that "healthy" diet was based on exactly the wrong food for me. My doctor at the time suggested severely limiting my intake of dairy products, and voila--my cholesterol dropped 80 points in a year, to 130.

Another example: a close family friend of mine, aged 50, suffered a near-heart attack and the outlook was grim. He switched to the right diet for his type, and HIS CHOLESTEROL DROPPED 60 POINTS IN ONE MONTH!!!!!! He's now in a low-risk group for cardiac disease. His doctors are amazed. Maybe they should read this book.

Summary: It clearly explains differing diet needs.
Review: Finally, a book that makes sense of all the different health diets out there that only work for some of the people part of the time. This book will explain which diet plan works for you based on your body's metabolics (blood type). Interesting facts about cancer and other illneses are also included. Fascinating and educational.

Summary: Did not work for me and was dangerous
Review: I tried this diet. (Type O) In only two weeks my blood pressure was elevated and my blood sugar was out of control. Although it sounds good, the idea of historical origins is faulty. We (humans) have continued to evolve and so has our food sources. Worse, look at what food is available today. Take beef that has been raised eating specific grains, plants etc. Then add in the harmones and other drugs present in the beef available today. It scarecly resembles the meat that my ancestors ate thousands of years ago. Plants have evolved also. Take tomatos. I grow them because the commercial varieties we get in the stores are terrible. They have been hybridized to suit picking, packing and shipping. In the store all that counts is how they look, not how they taste. The premise this book is based on is wrong!

Summary: Recommended by my acupuncturist.
Review: If you have tried all the other "diets" then you need to read this book. Dr. D'Adamo documents his study with extensive research and case studies that make sense of why all bodies react differently to food and exercise. It is a long-term solution, not a quick fix. The blood type solution involves the foods you eat for the rest of your life. It isn't hard to follow or believe in it once you begin the program. If you have problems with weight loss or gain, allergies, illness, or any other health problems, you need to consider this book. It has worked so well for me that I've given the book to everyone I know. We are all convinced of it's validity (some of us are 3 sizes smaller too). Thank you Dr. D'Adamo for our wellness.

Summary: For those who are desperate for an answer
Review: This book was fun to read. But it's no different from any other 'diet' books that saturate our culture. It's another book that feeds on people's desperation to get an answer from an outside source instead of relying on their natural common sense. It's pretty obvious to me that anyone will feel better and lose weight if they eliminate sugar and refined foods from their diet. I have no doubet that this works but it makes food such a focus in one's life. A bit too obsessive.

Summary: Well written and organized summary of a lifetime of research
Review: Found the book informative for the non-medical person as well as motivational for a professional athelete. The descriptions of the food plans which were beneficial for each blood type were detailed enough that I correctly guessed my blood type before having it typed. The explanations of which foods to avoid and why were clear. I have a much better understand of the science of blood and digestion than ever before (and I have read a ton of books regarding food plans for athletes). I am in superior condition as I exercise 2-4 hours per day and have a cholesterol of 166. Nonetheless, I lost 6 lbs in two weeks by just eliminating wheat, corn and potatoes. I am free to eat sweet potatos, yams, turnips, parnips, etc., rather than white potatos and haven't ever felt better. Bravo to a man who carried on with his father's efforts as we all can benefit from two generations of research and hard work!!! Thank you Dr. D'adamo!!!

Summary: I've Lost 52 pounds in 16 weeks on the A Type Diet! It Works
Review: I recently had to loose weight for major health concerns(Diabetic). I had no choice;I had to loose the weight or I would have major health problems for the rest of my life! I read the book and started to follow the A Type Diet and I started to loose the weight without exercising! I also have a herinated disk at L5-S1 and a degenerative disk at T12-L1; with that type of back pain exercise is not a choice I have. I took this book to my Docotor and he has seen my results and has recommended this book to his other patients after reading the book for himself.
