Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: Anyone who says the book was no good because Richard and kahlan were hardly in it, simply have no concept of judging a book by its quality of plot, intrigue, and pure skill of writing. They go only by how they feel and not the NEXT chapter in a series that is original(and as such, invovles many twists and angles of perspective) and not the same old monotone crap that usually happens book after book in a long series.
This book was amazing! It was highly original and brought a whole new perspective to the enemies side and how they believe in a lie. The book was well developed and there was simply nothing wrong about it. It wasn't a good book...it was a great book! I give it 4 stars instead of five simply because it wasn't his best. Well written! Bravo Goodkind! Don't let people's emotional whims judge your great skill of writing!!!
Rating: Summary: Good book gets bad review Review: Despite all the bad reviews from other readers, I tried this book and really enjoyed it. It had all the action, suspense and page turning thrills as all the others in this series. Goodkind is an excellent writer and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the previous books.
Rating: Summary: A truly good book with a fresh perspective Review: i don't know what the other reviewers are talking about, but this book directly addresses the criticism of the previous books while introducing a breath of fresh air to the series. 1) it provides a new iteration to the generic plotline of the series, i.e., richard and kahland get separated, defeat the enemy and reunite. 2) it puts the whole d'haran/old world in a new perspective 3) you get a better sense of what is going on in the different worlds, the daily struggles and the ways of life 4) there is suspense. you know something is wrong but you don't know what. 5) new characters, new tensions, new conflicts.Terry, this book is great! not the best (the second and third were) but definitely worth a read and worth the time.
Rating: Summary: too short Review: I love the Sword of Truth series... as always, I end up craving for more! Once I got started, I can't bring myself to put it down. I do feel that a lot of the interesting stuff got crammed into the last few chapters and that too much of the story centered on Jennsen. Other than that, I think this book is an excellent addition to the series.
Rating: Summary: Strange thing Review: I noticed watching an old Friday the 13th movie that there is an obscure actress named Jensen Daggett. That's such an odd name in general that I have to wonder if Terry Goodkind ripped it off from her for the character. The question is: why would anyone do that?
As to the book, it was fine.
Rating: Summary: This book was awesome. Review: I'd just like to start by saying that "backfromspace" has obviously not even read the damn book or maybe just skimmed it because so many of the plotlines he or she outlined were completely inaccurate! Dude, if you haven't read the book, don't review it. Jeez. Must be some wannabe writer who is jealous of Goodkind's success.
As for why Inchohatus or whatever hated the book, I just don't get it. I don't think it was poorly written. I will never trust inchohatus.com and urge others to ban that damn site.
I thought this book was great. It was refreshing to have the focus of the series shift onto new characters.
Rating: Summary: An Interesting Book Review: Something that would have helped me to know I give to you. Richard Rahl will not appear in this book till the last couple of chapters. I kept waiting for the main characters to take over but they never did. Half way through the book when I finally realized Richard wasn't coming things went better.
This book doesn't really advance the main storyline at all. It revolves around Richard's evil half brother and sweet and innocent half sister. I personally enjoyed the departure from the main storyline, but I can see how many people would be annoyed by this. The story was interesting enough though that I enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!! Review: This book was one awsome book!
Rating: Summary: Not relavent to the plot line Review: This goes on some big sidetangent not related to the story. Really not that worthwhile to read.
Rating: Summary: Hooray for libraries Review: This stinkbomb series is great. It really reminds me that if you're in doubt about the book, you can check it out at the library instead of buying it. Support your local library!
Lucky for Richard his enemies are dumb and cartoonish, too bad for us I guess.
