Rating: Summary: Second-best book of all time!! Review: Eoin Colfer has done it again! 'Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident' is a spectacular sequel to 'Artemis Fowl'. The book has all the old characters along with some new characters. Artemis has grown up a bit since the past year. He shows his rare emotional side, but he is still the same child prodigy that he was previously. The book is on-the-edge-of-your-seat stuff, along with some hilarious moments (Artemis getting shoved into a snowdrift by Butler). It is filled with action, adventure, hilarity, mystery and magic, but with a modern twist to it. If you haven't read the previous Artemis Fowl book, then what are you waiting for?! Buy it!... The top 5 books are: 5. Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets 4. Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire 3. Artemis Fowl 2. Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident 1. Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban Eoin Colfer's work is too good for words. I would give it infinity stars if I could. If you want to find out more about it, buy it! If not, you're missing out on something AMAZINGLY BIG! ...

Rating: Summary: Artemis Fowl - Die Hard With Fairies Review: It's one of those things such as marmite, football and shopping. Artemis Fowl. You love it, or hate it. And I'm extremely glad to be able to count myself among those you love it. I've read both books more than five times, and every night I sit and pray that the genius Eoin Colfer brings out a third. The characters all have so much character, even those mentioned just once, the descriptions are incredible and the flow of the words is easily the greatest use of the English language in the history of literature. My favourite character? Artemis Fowl, of course. He's quick-witted, cool in the face of dangerous and viciously intelligent. But book two showed us the softer, most vunerable side of Artemis Fowl, as the boy he didn't ever truly have a chance to be. The best bit in number two is when he emerges from the plasma in Koboi labs. What a scene. The movie has a good chance of living up to the superb quality of the book, but if it doesn't then I'll still be the biggest fan on Earth of Eoin Colfer. Funny story. I've started to learn Russian, even since I first read book one, just because I love this book so much. God bless Eoin Colfer. And God bless Artemis Fowl.
Rating: Summary: Artemis Fowl is back and better! Review: I'd give The Arctic Incident 10 stars if I could. Old friends resurface, new villains pop up, and Holly(my favorite) is as fiery as ever! Packed with as much action as the first book and a better storyline, this sequel just blew me away. The first few chapters start a bit slow, but the book picks up pace, going faster and faster until it's racing at the end. Here and there, Colfer adds some subtle humor and genious from Artemis to let us catch our breaths. You can almost see and feel Artemis Fowl changing and sobering from child to young adult. He's not a hero or a role model, but each one of us has a little bit of Arty inside us. I can't wait for the third! Keep at it, Eoin Colfer!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Completely Mind Blowing! Review: I loved the new Artemis Fowl book, it was witty and full of brilliant, new ideas. Eoin Colfer has great imagination and I can't wait for the third and final part of this trilogy. Could Artemis develope feelings for Holly, but will Holly develope feelings for someone else?!? I can't wait! Mulch Diggums character is full of humour and the detail that is put in to his descriptions is amazingly done! Thank you Eoin Colfer for one of the best written children's / teenagers books written! Ellie
Rating: Summary: Better than the first Review: The beginning of this book is a little slow, but the rest of it certainly doesn't disappoint you. The insanely funny humor will give you a perpetual stomach cramp even when the rest gets a bit boring. It was also kinda interesting (and refreshing from all that sarcasm) to see the emotional side of Artemis. At the end of the first book you kind of end up hating Artemis (like when Holly hits him), but you find out in the second book that there really is an emotional side to the impenetrable poker face of Artemis Fowl. All in all, this is a magnificent piece of work that ranks up there with Harry Potter. I think it ties for first place. One bit of advice: read this book twice because the first time it's kinda hard to digest and you find out different things that you missed before, so you're like, "oh cool, I didn't see that before; so that's why that happened; etc." It also makes you less bored during the long summer months.
Rating: Summary: What a Sequel! Review: This book is a great sequel to the first Artemis Fowl book. I knew there was going to be a sequel, but I didn't know when it was coming out. Then, I saw my friend reading it, so I bought it, and started reading it. Even though I thought that no sequel to the first book could be as good as the first book, Eoin Colfer really surprised me with this book. After I started reading it, I couldn't stop! I took it everywhere with me: to the school, to my math tutor, and I even took it with me when I go on my car, just to get some reading in during the red lights and/or traffic. Can you believe it? I really think that if she continues to write more books with this series, everyone is going to love it, especially me. The main character in this book is again Artemis Fowl, the twelve year-old genius/criminal mastermind. Then there's his personal bodyguard/friend, Butler. Captain Holly Short is also in this book. They are all back, even Mulch Diggums! As you now know (if you read the first book), Artemis Fowl's dead disappeared. Now, Artemis Fowl Jr. has gotten new clues to where Artemis Fowl Sr. is: somewhere in Russia. Back underground, however, they are having their own problems. Goblins were now armed with Softnose Lasers, a laser gun that was restricted, and teamed up with someone to terminate the LepRecon. Since the lasers were powered up by human technology, Holly immediately suspected Artemis Fowl. So once again, Holly will collide with Artemis Fowl. This is just the beginning! To find out more, go read it! This book again shows how really not holy and pure the fairies are. Our version of fairies are little humans flying around with their wands, and just helping people, but that is not the case in the Artemis Fowl books. They introduced even more weapons now then they had in the first book. You already know about the Softnose Lasers, but there are many more. For example, they have a device where it can scan through your brain to see if you have been to anywhere lately or a long time ago. That might not be a weapon, but it is still really scary to know that there is a weapon like that, because what if it falls into the wrong hands and they scan jewelers, and bank owner's brains to find out the alarm code. Then they go in and steal everything! Although they have many more new devices, I thought you might want to go find out yourself by reading Artemis Fowl: An Arctic Incident!
Rating: Summary: Better then first (which is really saying something) Review: Artemis is back, and despite the slow start and just-slightly predictable plot, The Artic Incident is right up there with the best. This book was very funny, and the plot was origanel. My only real complaint was that we didn't see enough of Artemis Senior. Another book, maybe. I loved reading about the old favorites, like Holly, Foaly and Mulch Diggums. Other characters that you never though had much importance suddenly popped out, tying in events from the previous Fowl book. Another good thing about this book where the characters: Holly, who messed up a little more then you'd like in the first, was back on her toes, thought not a Mary-Sue. Artemis, who has suprisingly mellowed in the last year, is human. He makes mistakes, but at the same time is still the admirable genius. I highly-recommend this book for anyone who liked Harry Potter (this is even better in my opinion).
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Truly a good read for everyone over 12 years. Entertaining ..., exciting yet not provocative and more to it than the first one. Those who loved the action in the first one will not be disappointed, a true mixture of James Bond & Harry Potter.
