Summary: ARTEMIS FOWL THE ARCTIC INCIDENT
Review: I think this book [was bad]! It had no action or suspense.... Trus me it is nt worth your time. I was thinking about getting the first book to read both but now im not gonna. It had one good action scene where they all were shooting at each other but thatwas it the rest of the book was all talking and wlaking. IT WAS THE WORST BOOK I EVER READ. Clifford the big red dawg was better than this...

Summary: Doesn't live up to the first book
Review: I like this book, but it is not as good as the first "Artemis Fowl" book which was pretty good

It was way too rushed and the story moves too fast for my liking.
The plot of the uprising was not as well thoght out as the plot of
Holly being kinapped in the first book. I liked
this book but not as well written as the first one.

Summary: The Arctic Incident
Review: The Artic Incident by Eoin Colfer was a pretty good book overall. I liked it because it never got to boring, it had a good ending, and I could actuallly see what was going on. The book was never boring because the narroration switched from character to character in the same chapter. This did a very good job of carring suspense, but it also made it a little confusing and sometimes it became jumpy. Hte book had a good ending. It looked like there was no way that it could end in a happy way but it did and it didn't leave you hanging. I also liked how each character was vividly described so I could actually envison their personality by how they acted.

The best part of the book was when they talked about the theif Mulch Diggums. He was a mastermind theif and the author did a good job of showing it. It explaine dexactly how he did everything. It was also exciting how they broke into Koboi Laboratories.

Eoin colfer di dthe best job of describing the setting and the characters. when they were in the Arctic I could almost feel the wind whipping and the icicles peircing Artemis's face . I could see the train whipping their bodies all around and the steam and radiation coming off it. The characters were described very well. I got a perfect picture of the goblins. I could imagine them towering over me and breathing steaam in my face. The characterspersonality was shown vey well and you could tell what their atitude was to the world. An example would be when Holly was fliny the shuttle and everybody was telling her to pull up and she sort of blew them off with a my way or the highway.

Summary: Artemis Fowl, In the Arctic!
Review: "Artemis Fowl The Arctic Incident" by Eoin Colfer is one of my favorite books of all time! It's fast pased with it's shuttles andd trains and the surprise around every corner. One of them being Artemis and Holly working together! It's so funny I found myself laughing at it's witty charecters and strangely hilarius antics time and time again! It's a mix of genious crime and modern technology with fantasy and myth.

One of the funniest parts is in the beggining when Artemis is outsmarting the school counciler! Then again, when dealing with someone of Artemis' inteligence, that's not too surprising. One of the most suspensful parts is when Artemis, Butler, Holly, ad Root are rescuing Artemis' father, Artemis Fowl Senior. It takes a lot of genious and a lot of help from the LEP.

Eoin Colfer does a good job of describing things well in this book, but the most vivid are the charecters and the setting. The charecters are described well and are easy to visualize. I mean you can just see that criminal smirk on Artemis' face as he matches wits with his counciler. And the settings are also described beautifully, you can see everything perfectly in your mind, from St. Bartleby's School for Boys, to LEP headquarters, to Las Vegas, to the coldest region of Siberia.

Summary: Not Even as Good as The First One
Review: I really wanted to like this book, but it is not very good. The first "Artemis Fowl" book was pretty good, but Mr. Colfer did not have the same luck and/or magic with this effort.

It is rushed and, what is worse, plays extensively on the hackneyed device of EVERYONE except our heroes being either bad or stupid. That gets so old, so fast, it makes for an unpleasant read, rather than a story to escape into. I wanted to BE in the world of the first book. I didn't want to be any of the places or with any of the characters in the second one.

Definitely wait for the paperback, and perhaps borrow it from the library.

Summary: Artemis Fowl ''The book I needed for so long."
Review: Ever since I was 11 years old, I have been enchanted by books like Harry Potter or The Lord Of The Rings. Yet books don't last forever. I started reading the Harry potter books, but sadly I rushed through them. I finished all the Harry Potter books in less than one summer. I felt The magic and joy from these books surge through my Heart, but for a year it was lost , and now it is so difficult to find a book just as magical as Harry Potter. I had been waiting and waiting for a book to match how I felt when I read Harry Potter and I finally found it. A very special book named Artemis Fowl. Artemis Fowl is great and here are a few reasons why. First, Artemis Fowl deals With "Super Technology". A total "must have" in my kind of book. Artemis Fowl has this because of a centaur named "Foaly". "Foaly "Is an absolute genius when it comes to technology and inventions. His inventions include the Time stopper, the Retimager , fairy Hummingbird Wings, and much more. Artemis Fowl is truly awesome. Another Reason why Artemis Fowl is a major favorite of mine is because of a 12 year old boy "Artemis" that is a genius and outwits every person who try's to outsmart him. For example , Artemis is just about to be " Bio-bombed", when he finds a way to save him and his friends by simply taking a sleeping pill in a glass of wine. A third and final reason why Artemis Fowl is so grand is because it is magical, exciting, funny, and got me back into reading. Thank you Eoin Colfer for making such a magnificent work of art. In conclusion these are just a few reasons why Artemis Fowl is my favorite book.

Summary: Good, but not great
Review: I didn't read the first book, so some of the ideas were a little confusing. The characters are identifiable; not quite 1-dimensional, but not quite 3-dimensional either. 2d? The book starts with a bang, bogs down a little, then ends as a page-turner. A good book for kids 9-14, but a little "light" for adults. A good mix of fairy, magic, and technology (not quite SciFi).

I was initially put off due to the main character being a criminal with very little regard for authority. However, this is tempered somewhat as the story goes on. Criminal deeds are still glorified somewhat, but there is a glimpse of caring -- for people, not for laws.

Summary: Wow, It's the Artemis Fowl comeback!
Review: He's back! (and a little older,too!)
Eoin Colfer is a magnificent writer. When I read the frist Artemis Fowl book, I thought, how could you make up a book with a power-hungry pre-teen as the main character? But, as I read the book, I was soon proven wrong.
If you thought that the first Artemis Fowl book was superb, don't rest until you read this one! It's about Captain Holly Short(again) and Artemis. You thought they never got along, well, in this book they have to team up!

Read the book and find out more!

Summary: Not as good as 1st book but...
Review: Okay, the 1st book was fun but there wasn't much to it. Again, this is fun but its more of the same. I like Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl don't get me wrong but this could be so much better. The story structure is again very linear. There's not a whole lot of back story except for the standard stuff and fluff. The dialog is slap stick at times. I'm hoping for a much better read next time. Come on Mr. Colfer, please, I'm beggging.
