Rating: Summary: True human exposure Review: A very good book that allows the author to share her wounds with us, and this allows us to be truer to ourselves. It also gives us an insight on how to apply the principles of A Course in Miracles. Also, I highly recommend: Luminous by Peter Quest and Conversations with God.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing Review: I read this book after I had read the Text of "A Course in Miracles", and I found it refreshing to read some of the principles of ACIM written in another way. As a woman I was also able to identify with Marianne Williamson's perspective and feelings about life, carrers and relationships. I have since returned to rereading the text and doing the lessons, but I highly reccomend this to anyone who is considering reading "A Course in Miracles" or who, like me, has just finished the text.
Rating: Summary: LIFE CHANGING Review: ...not to be over dramatic, but this book and Ms. Willaimson's "A Woman's Worth" changed my life. One of my best friends turned me on to Marianne Williamson. I gave both of these books to my mother and my sister for Christmas, and have suggested them to many other friends. I believe that God has given Marianne a gift, and I am grateful that she has shared it with us. In fact, I think God blesses us all with a certain gift. That's what this book is about--finding your gift and using it--not being afraid or embarrassed--not letting your ego get in the way. This book does not preach--it just shows you that acting out of love is the best and easiest way to live your life. In our society we tend to loose sight of that, and make things way more difficult for ourselves. This book has also helped me to believe that God is a loving God. I still uphold the bible. I just believe that God speaks through Marianne, as he does all of us. So, enjoy! Thank you Marianne for sharing with us.
Rating: Summary: Every Women Must Have This Wonderful Book Review: In my most darkest days due to a broken relationship, a friend gave me this book and told me to read it. After reading it, I was so thankful to God for blessing us with such a talented and gifted writer like Marianne. She spoke to my heart and soul. And never, ever will I ever be in such darkness brought on by someone else again. I brought all my dearest friends a copy of this book for Christmas. It is my Bible because it fills me with Wisdom. Thank you Marianne! May you never run out of paper.
Rating: Summary: Good book, but the ideas are not the truth. Review: I found this book to be an excellent introduction to a Course in Miracles. Better, the book summarises many of the points of the course in a much smaller package.I am grateful that this book acted to bring me one step closer to Christianity, but the teaching of the book is anything but Christian. Whilst love is indeed to be valued, a Christian knows that truth must also be pursued. One without the other is unbalanced. Please don't accept the principles of this book as Christianity, they are based on it, but are definitely missing biblical truth.
Rating: Summary: I've read it and carry it's messages every day. Review: This book is life changing. Marianne Williamson has written a book to be treasured. I have read it several times and consider it one of the most inspiring books ever written. It speaks to my heart and has given me a new perspective on life. DON'T MISS THIS ONE!
Rating: Summary: We share Marianne's illumination. Review: Marianned Williamson has been a trail-blazer in explaining the principles of "A Course in Miracles." She is exceptional in taking The Course's difficult concepts and demonstrating its root meanings by telling us how it affected her life. By exposing her soul to us, we share in her illumination. A classic book. Also, a rare fictional novel based on The Course was found. I highly recommend "LUMINOUS" by Peter Quest for readers who want to experience The Course at another level.
Rating: Summary: Truley a Return to Reality - Who we really are Review: Finding out that I have been lied to about who I am could trigger some bad emotions. Marianne says what for? The real answer for me is to enjoy this new found truth. Why waste my precious time on day-old grudges or any grudges for that matter. Truley a remarkable book in it's gentleness in handling such fragile subjects. I was one for always looking for the answer that would answer all answers. It's not this book. It's your true history the life you are living. There is no need to stay stagnet...This book tells how by showing you a path to your own soul. If you are too rough on your self, like most of us are, as the old song says, "Try a little gentleness." We really are okay...Really.
Rating: Summary: Enlightening, heart-changing and inspirational! Review: I was profoundly moved by MW's book. It simplified spirituality for me, in that it made it attainable instead of out of reach for a human like me. I enjoyed it one page after the next and would gladly read it again. Does she have a web site?
Rating: Summary: Take the time to read this book, the road to enlightenment. Review: After reading the book, and listening to the tape, Marianne Williamson knows how to get your attention and hold it. She opens up the door to your own understanding of how you, yourself are responsible for the path your life takes, and what you can do to make the changes you need. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to open themselves up.
