Summary: Because Of Winn-Dixie
Review: Imagine yourself moving to a whole new town, with new people, and new challenges. The first friend you make is a dog, and that dog becomes your best friend. The book Because Of Winn-Dixie by Kate Dicamillo is a lesson in life in my opinion. The main character is India Opal Buloni. She moves to a new town with her father the Preacher and is walking though a small grocery store called Winn-Dixie. India sees a dog rumbling though the things in the grocery store. She can tell that it is a stray dog. She decides to take this dog home and asks is she can keep him. The answer is yes. This book is about the challenges in her life with a dog as a best friend. She has to make new friends and some people in this town aren't as friendly as you would think. It's hard to grow up without a mother and that might be her biggest challenge. In my opinion this is a great book. It's humorous, interesting, exciting, and a great lesson in life.

Review: Beautifully and poignantly written from the little girl's point of view, this book is a total winner. A realistic portrait of many people who are different, yet who all find they should enjoy and support each other...because of Winn Dixie (the dog). It will make you cry but leave you happy in the end.

Summary: Because of Winn-Dixie
Review: I read this book for a children's literature class recently and I absolutley loved it and would highly recommend it to parents and teachers. I know I plan on using it in my classroom one day! Opal is the type of character every student can identify with in someway and she speaks so candidly. The issues in the book are ones which many students will face and I'm sure they can all identify with having an extreme love for a pet. Even at age 20, I was so captivated by this book I actually had tears in my eyes at one point!

Review: Bobby baseball is the coolest book ever it keeps you guessing until the end. If you don't read this book I srongly disagree with you. Bobby is the main character who really wants to be the greatest pitcher in the world, when he tries out on his dad's team his dad says he has a weak arm.In there first game Bobby pitches good but after that he takes a turn for the worst and in one game his dad takes him out and Bobby gets mad and throws the ball behind the backstop and his father suspends him.How will Bobby react? To find out read the book!

Date Published: 2000 Because of Winn-Dixie is about this girl named Opal, who finds this dog and names it Winne-Dixie. The dog is really disgusting. It has bald spots, and it smells really bad. The dog hates thunder storms. During a thunder storm he gets lost. But he isn't lost, really he was just under a bed in their friends bedroom!
"My last name is Buloni, sometimes at school back home is Watley called me 'Lunch Meat'." That is one of my favorite lines in the book that Opal said.
I think that everyone would like Because of Winne-Dixie. Girls, boys basketball players, soccer players, anybody!
I would give this book a ten out of ten, four thumbs up, and one hundred stars!!!!!

Review: Winn Dixie is the absolute best book in the world when you pick it up you can't put it down if you do your making the biggest mistake of your life. From the very first page there's excitement where a girl named India finds a dog at Winn Dixie grocery mart that's about to die and she shows tremendous love and saves the dogs life, because of that she goes on and make a lot of friends like Mrs. Granny Block, Gloria Dump, and Otis the pet store owner. Later that week a big thunderstorm hits and Winn Dixie runs away. On a scale of one to 10 I would give this book a 12. By Jacob

Summary: Kate's Newberry honor book
Review: I give Because of Winn-Dixie a three because I enjoyed it. I could connect to many things and characters. Winn -Dixie is a very funny, friendly and good friend to Opal. Opal moves to Naomi, Floida with her father. At first she did'nt have any friends but then Winn-Dixie came along and gave Opal alot of friends. That's what makes him a good friend. As you can see this book is about friendship. I recomend this book to people any age. It's a good book!

This book is about a girl named India Opal. It was in the produce section when the manager was screaming, "Get that dog out of here!" Call the pound! At that moment Opal said, "Wait a minute!" Thats my dog and said I'll name you Winn-Dixie. From that day Opal took great care of the dog. She would tell Winn-Dixie anything even about her mother who left Opal when she was three. With Winn-Dixie along she makes friends in a flash, but these friends are very odd....
In conclusion, this book was great and I think that anybody who would read it would think it was an exciting novel. I would especially reccomend this book to people who like adventures and love dogs cause this book is all about that

Review: A lot of my friends have read Because of Winn-Dixie and recommended it to me. I never liked to read. One day I got assigned to read it in school. At first I didn't want to but then, after I'd read the first couple of chapters, I didn't want to put it down. I recommend this realistic fiction page turner for anybody who likes friendship stories. The bond between a girl and her dog is amazing. Come meet all the friends they make in their small Florida town.
