Rating:  Summary: My first book by Jerry Spinelli Review: This was the first book by this author that I have read. I didn't think it was great. The events kept repeating and some parts didn't make sense.I DID like the way Jerry Spinelli was descriptive and wrote with beautiful language.

Maniac Magee otherwise known as Jeffery Magee,his life changes when his parents died on the P and W high speed trolley.Maniac Magee moved to his Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan,there was a big problem so he left. That's when he started running. Maniac lived in Bridgeport,Holidaysburg,after that he just visited place's like East end,West end ,Mrs pickwells,East Chestnut,East Marshall,Green Street,and Arch Street.Maniac had a lot af friendswhen he started to be nocited,Maniac is a special and to find out what happens at those places read Maniac Magee.

He doesn't have any parents and he goes into the east and west end with no problem. Most people wouldn't dare.Maniac is a brave little kid who can run faster then anyone including Mars Bars. If you read this book be ready for action,adventure,excitment,and heartbreak. You may cry in this book if you are older.

At first while we were in school and we were getting the books and everyone was groaning but, I thought it was interesting. I loved how jerry Spinelli used creative detailed words in all his setences. He put emotions and character into the book. When he describes things he really describes things. I love deatiled books and this book was perfect. I would HIGHLY suggest this books for people of all ages. On a rating from 1 to 5 stars I'd rate this a 15. I am hoping that Jerry Spinelli either A. comes out with a sequel to Maniac Magee or B. Jerry continues to make books like Maniac Magee.
