Rating: Summary: My Thoughts on Maniac Magee Review: The book Maniac Magee was not very good in my opinion. I feel this way because it had so many good details , but so much stuff was happening at the same time that it seemed so confusing for me to follow. For example in the last few chapters Maniac is going through so mant things at the same time, like deciding which family to live with, trying to get blacks and whites to realize that they are all the same, and helping out with Russel and Piper. I also feel that the chapters were too short. For example chapter four is barely a page long. If there were fewer long chapters it would have been much easier to follow. For example if the author seperated the main events and put them into chapters instead of making so many little events, it would have been a much better book. In conclusion Maniac Magee was not a great book.
Rating: Summary: A Maniac for Maniac Magee Review: Maniac Magee was a pretty good book. I thought Maniac was a cool character to put in a book. For example he was good in every sport and probably the fastest kid in Twao Mills. Maniac Magee was also full of suspense, you never knew what he was going to do next. For example I never knew who's house he was going to stay at. He could have stayed at the Beales, the McNabs, or the Pickwells. I also enjoyed reading about all the people Maniac met in Two Mills. The Pickwell kids are never late for dinner, Mars Bar is rhe tuff guy in the black end, and John McNab is the fastest kid in Two Mills. Maniac Magee was a good book. I enjoyed reading it
Rating: Summary: I Am Not A Maniac About Maniac Magee Review: The book Maniac Magee was very different from any other book that I have read. It wasn't that great. In some parts it got confusing. In the iginning Maniac was running all over the place for days straight. He must be some kind of superhuman and that is weird. I also think that the story was confusing at the end. First Mars asked Maniac if he wanted to stay with him and then Amanda asked Maniac the same thing. I still think that Maniac should have gone and stayed at Mars Bar's house. One other thing that I didn't like about this book was how Maniac was living with about four families. Those are the reasons why I disliked the book Maniac Magee.
Rating: Summary: To Read, or Not to Read, That is the Question Review: Maniac Magee was an okay book. There were parts that I liked and there were parts that I didn't like. Some parts of the book didn't make any sense and were hard to understand. For example, when Maniac was teaching Grason how to read sometimes the author would refer to him as Grason and other times he would refer to him as "the old man". This book also gets were confusing. Maniac could be doing something or be somewhere one minute and the next minute he is somewhere else doing something different and you don't know about it. I also didn't like the beginning because it was very boring. It was boring because nothing was happening and it took a long time to get through the first parts. I think that Maniac Magee is a book for people with patience and for people who understand things easily.
Rating: Summary: Maniac What Kind of Name is That Review: This book was the worst book in the world.First of things I hated was that people die in the story.Grayson and Maniac's parents both die in the story.Second what kind of name is Maniac In the book people call him Maniac, but his real name is Jeffery. Why counld't call him Jeffery.Third he's always running away from everyone .He ran away from Dot and Dan, the beals and the Mcnabs. This story feels like it takes forever.
Rating: Summary: The #1 Book Of The Year Review: Maniac Magee was a very exciting book. I liked the book because Maniac did so many exciting challenges. Such as,when Maniac was dared to go to the East end, and he did it without a doubt in his mind. Another reason why I liked the book was because you never know what Maniac would do next. For example, when Maniac raced with Mars Bar, you never could have guessed that he would start running backwards. I also liked it because it was very suspensful. Such as, when Maniac invited Mars Bar at the party and someone almost dropped on Mars Bar. That is why I liked the book Mainiac Magee.
Rating: Summary: Maniac Magee Review: This book was the best book I have ever read. My favorite part was when he bunted the frog.
Rating: Summary: Good, but didn't get into it Review: Manaic Magee is an 11 year old boy who's parents were killed in a trolley accident, and he has been homeless ever since. Then he has been on the road, but not in a car, no instead he runs to get from place to place. He meets lots of strange people, some of which are nice and the rest mean. The Beals took him in,and treated him like one of their own. You see, the Beals are black and they are very nice people. They taught Maniac that black people and white people are the same.. Manaic Magee was good, I mean that is pretty cool how he could run 200 miles in 51 days, and this book would be good for any young adult to read. I'm sure that someone else would get into the story. I mean, it's probably better than that phonics game, but I liked it and I'm sure you will too, so remember to read and be sure it's a Jerry Spinelli book.
Rating: Summary: A book about a "True Home". Review: This book is a fiction story about a boy named Maniac(Jeffery) Magee who is an orphan. His parents died in a accident. He was taken care by his aunt and uncle. But the uncle and aunt weren't getting along, not sharing things to eachother. So one day, Magee runs away to a far far town. He sleeps in a buffalo pen in the zoo, he runs around in the day time and early in the morning. He runs faster than a dog. He hits a home run playing stickball. And he catches a football like a star reciever. He meets many people, many families, and two different races. Black and White. He didn't know why the white people hated the black people and why the black people hated the white people. He didn't understand. Infact he didn't find any difference between the black people and white people. For a long time, Magee will look for his true home. But since both races think they are differnt from the other race, they don't acept that they are the same. So magee will suffer from this "fight" between the two races. But in the end Magee will find a "true home".
Rating: Summary: Maniac Magee- Great fiction book Review: I thought that the story of Maniac Magee was very fascinating. All of the descriptions made me feel like I was actually there. The book is about an eleven year old boy who beleived in himself and proved himself to everyone. He took his talents to great heights and acheived a lot. I recommend this book for all ages.
