Rating: Summary: A Great Adventure Review: The Newberry Award book I picked was sad because people did not like a little boy. They did not like him because he was white, and he lived with black people. The family he lived with did not care what color he was. He was really good with really good with the little ones. They did what they were told. They now get a bath only with Amanda their sister. My favorite part was when they had a huge party with all of the people they lived around.
Rating: Summary: Great Adventure Book Review: I just finished Maniac Magee. The author is Jerry Spinelli. It made me realize how lucky I am to have a permenant home. If you like a good adventure book you'll like Maniac Magee. In this story Jeffery Magee runs away from home after his parents die in a car crash. He runs cross country in 51 days to the town of Two Mills where he gets the nickname Maniac. If you want to find out how he gets his nickname. You'll have to read Maniac Magee for your sellf.
Rating: Summary: Great Adventure Book Review: I really enjoyed Jerry Spinelli's book Maniac Magee. I liked it because of all of his adventures. I like two of the names a lot. Their names are Maniac Magee and Mars Bar. Maniac's parents died when he was little. He stayed with his aunt and uncle until he ran away. He ran for two hundred miles in fifty-one weeks. Will he ever find a new home? You should read this book if you like adventure books.

This book is about an orphan who lives with his aunt and uncle. He runs away because they're not nice to him. Then he meets a girl named Amanda. They become best friends. If you want to find out what happens to Maniac and Amanda's friendship, read this book.
Rating: Summary: Jeffrey is a Manic Review: I just finshed reading Jerry Spinelli's book Manic Magee and it was good. It was good because first some kids wanted to beat up Jeffrey. Then they wanted to be his friend. Jeffrey ran all day and then slept at one person's house. Then he meets a girl who lets him stay at her house for a little bit. Jeffrey can play sports and run. Mars Bar is a kid that wants to beat up Jeffrey so bad. Jeffrey meets new people that want to be his friend. If you want to know what happens to Jeffrey I think you would like the book.
Rating: Summary: A good book about a fast runner Review: I just finished Jerry Spinelli's book Maniac Magee and it was great. I liked it because it was exciting and sad. Maniac Magee is a fast runner. He is also good at sports. He likes to read because he asked Amanda Beale if he could borrow one of her books. He read the whole book but didn't return it because he liked the book so he read it a couple more times. If you like adventure books then this is a book for you. Also if you like sports then this is a book for you but if you cry when something sad happens you might not want to get the book.
Rating: Summary: It is a great book! Review: People said that Manic Magee was born in a dump. But, he wasn't. Also his name was Jeffrey Lionel Magee, not Maniac Magee. Jeffrey lost his parents when he was a toddler so you could imagine that he was an orphan most of his life. Some people think that kids don't care one bit for anyone. If you do, you're wrong. Maniac Magee [Jeffrey Magee] was a legend. Kids said when he was around, no knot would stay knotted. He was known for speed and many other things. But most of all he was known for what he did for the kids of East and West mills. Maniac Magee was born in Bridgeport. The first kid talking to him in two mills was Amanda Beale. She was a black kid that lived in East Mill. Jeffrey Magee had made one mistake in coming to two mills. He had run to East mill where the Blacks lived instead of West mill where the Whites lived. [Jeffrey was white.] In East Mill, Jeffrey was quite comfortable. He was also useful. He untied the little kids complex yo-yo knots and sneaker laces. Maniac Magee even undid Cobble' s knot. It should have been the eighth wonder of the world if they hadn't stopped at seven. I'm not going to give away anymore of this wonderful adventure story. To find out the rest, you'll have to read "Maniac Magee" for yourself. Maniac Magee is a Newbery medal book by Jerry Spinelli. I would highly recommend it for kids of 8-12 years old. It is a fantastic book. Maniac Magee is a terrific role model for children. He does what he thinks is right. Also, he was individual, unique and different. How would you like it if everybody on our earth were the same? I wouldn't. If you seek adventure beyond your dreams, pick up this book and read. You will be whisked off to Jerry Spinelli's land.
Rating: Summary: My Review of Maniac Magee Review: Maniac Magee was an okay book, but it didn't meet my interests like other books. I do recomend Maniac Magee to some people but not to others only because it's only for a certain type of person.
Rating: Summary: Maniac McGee Review: Manic McGee is a boy who ran away from his Aunt and Uncle. He met a girl named Amanda Beale and borrowed a book. He then did some heroic things. He caught a football with one hand while he had a book in the other hand. One time he had to face a pitcher who had struck out everybody from one team and then Maniac stepped up to the plate and hit every pitch he threw. He even hit a frog that the pitcher threw. He untied a knot that was four blocks long and no one else could ever do it. I recommend this book to anybody that likes adventures, amazing things and fun.
Rating: Summary: my favorite book Review: i first read this book in 5th or 6th grade. i learned all about maniac, and how he runs away from home and lives with various people and manages to kind of break a major color barrier. he also lives with an old man in an equipment room and with the bison at the zoo. he can run really fast and he can untie giant knots. i remember thinking it was great, and then i kind of forgot about it. right now i am 17, and it was about 8 months ago that i got my boyfriend to buy it for me and i read it again. while i was reading it IN SCHOOL (as a junior), i had like 5 people talk to me about what a great book it was. i have one friend who says it inspired him to run track (because maniac runs ON THE RAIL on the train tracks), and he is now an avid runner. boy is it great! i think i'll go read it right now...
