Summary: This was the worst book I have ever read.
Review: I absolutey hated this book. It was not only boring, but I hated Jerry Spinelli's style of writing. He would always go into great detail like the reader was stupid. I would rather try to read War and Peace than have to go through the torture of reading this book again.

Summary: CRAZY MAN
Review: The character in this story is Maniac Magee, but his name isn't really Maniac Magee. when he was born, he was known as Jeffrey Lionel Magee. His parnets died nad that's when his life changed and so did his name.
the best known thing that Maniac or "Jeffrey " Magee is known for is for what he did for the kids from the east side and those from the west side. But there still a puzzeling question. Whyndid he help those kids and why was he near those areas. If you want to find out more go to your local libary and check it out. You'll never know what will surprise you.

Review: Just Voice

(This is written in the voice of the main character to convince you to read this book.)

I thought this was a fantastic story of me, Jeffery Loniel "Maniac" Magee, being the star character. The author really shows throughout the story that I am very athletic, smart, and homeless. But being homeless didn't last long because I found a family, the Beales, who I could love and who could care for me. Through my days living with the Beales, I really got acquainted with the environment, being able to untie a cobbles knot, and to hit home runs off of the leading pitcher in strike outs. I still think blacks and whites should be together though, which this town doesn't seem to understand. The rest of the book deals with me running away again trying out many different families, but in the end I find my real home, to be with the Beales. I think people who like adventures and survival stories should read the book I am in, Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinneli.

Summary: Maniac Magee is a Story With a Meaning
Review: Maniac Magee was an excellent book with a moral.
Maniac's parents die from an accident, so Maniac is sent to live with his aunt and uncle. Maniac decides to run away from the both of them, leaving Maniac homeless. In Maniac's city, all the black people were on the East Side and all the white people were on the West Side. Maniac goes and lives with new friend's that he meets, both on the East Side and on the West Side. No one is to onto the opposite "Side" unless that person works there. Blacks on one side, whites on the other. Maniac has many fantastic talents. He can run super, super fast, untie a know that measures over three blocks long when finally undone, and many others. The moral of this story is: don't judge people by their skin color.
Maniac Magee is over all, a great book! I recommend this book to all ages!

Summary: maniac magee
Review: Before the story they say Maniac Magee was born in a dump. They say his stomach was a cereal box and his heart a sofa spring. They say that he kept an eight-inch cockroach on a leash and that rats stood guard over him while he slept. Before the story they say Maniac Magee was born in a dump. They say his stomach was a cereal box and his heart a sofa spring. They say that he kept an eight-inch cockroach on a leash and that rats stood guard over him while he slept. What¡¯s true, what¡¯s myth? It¡¯s hard to know.
Maniac Magee was not born in a dump. He was born in a house, a pretty ordinary house. He had regular parents and they died from the p & w trolley because the driver was drunk. The trolley took a dive in the Schuylkill River across Bridgeport. Just like that Magee was an orphan. He was three years old. Of course he wasn¡¯t maniac then. He was Jeffrey. Jeffrey Lionel Magee.
Jeffrey was sent to uncle Dan and aunt Dot. The weird thing about them is that they are married and they hate each other and they have two of everything like two TVs, two dinner tables, etc.
Jeffrey had a school musical and in the chorus he was shouting, ¡°TALK! TALK! TALK! TALK! Will ya!¡±
Then Jeffrey ran away from his home with aunt Dot and uncle Dan, and never went to school again. One day Jeffrey went to the west end and ate dinner at the Pickwells house. The strange thing about the Pickwells is that their family is so big that they have to eat on a ping-pong table. The first person to talk to maniac was Amanda Beale. She had a big suitcase filled with book because her two little brothers write on anything the find like the walls. Maniac promised Amanda he would return her book. While he was running he meet a person named ¡°Mars Bar¡±. Mars ask Maniac a bite of his mars bar chocolate bar and he just took a bite right were Mars took a bite. Mars got mad and ripped Amanda¡¯s book. Later on Maniac met Amanda and she invited Maniac to dinner at her house. After he ate Amanda¡¯s father took him home but he had no home so Amanda¡¯s parents told Maniac to live at their house. Many months have past and Maniac went to a swimming pool party and an old man told him to go home and Maniac said I live here at 782 Sycamore Street. The man told him to go back to his white family. The next day their was a huge word in paint and it said, ¡°GO HOME FISHBELLY.¡± After that he ran away to the buffalo pen. One day a janitor found him thin and freezing cold under a buffalo. The janitor¡¯s named was Grayson. Grayson gave Maniac a cup of noodles. Maniac had a new home in the baseball shed. He lives with Grayson in apartment 101. Christmas has past and one morning Grayson was dead. Maniac just went back to the buffalo pen. Then he found Mars Bar and Amanda there too. Amanda told Maniac to come back with her to live at 782 Sycamore Street. Then Maniac now has an official home.
