Summary: Where The Red Fern Grows
Review: Old dan and Little ann were very brave and smart. Billy wanted
hunting dogs and his wish came true and when thay went go hun-
ting with his grandfather there was a big storm. Then grandfather sliepped and fell down but he didnt die. When Billy was looking for Grandfather, old dan barked and when Billy came back to old dan there was three raccoons. Then Billy and his dogs and his grandfather won the raccoon hunt and lots of dollars and a trophy. They went back to Billy's house and he gave the trophy to his sister. I liked the book, but it was sad, because old dan was killed by a mountain lion and little ann got sick and died. A few days later Billy found a red fern from old dan and little ann's grave, and he showed it to his parents and he said, "Do all good dogs go to heaven?" And his mother said, "Yes." And they moved somewhere.

Summary: Matt's review
Review: One of my feelings about this book is friendship. Billy cares so much for his dogs. Another in loyalty. When Billy said he would do something for his dogs he would do it. Like for example he said he would cut down the tree and he did. Billy and his dogs were brave and protected each other. Like when the mountain lion was there his dogs fought to save Billy's life and Billy fought to save his dogs life. Emotional is another felling through this book. Billy would tell his dogs everything. He told them when they would go hunting and so personal stuff. There was some personal stuff that went with the book. Billy would try to do stuff just by himself and his dogs would try to come. Like when Billy tried to go down to the store to give his grandpa some coonskins Old Dan and Little Ann would try to come. They couldn't come though because Old Dan would get into to many fights. I think this was a good book to read and it was a very good book to do stuff on. Even the quizzes were fun and when do you hear me say that.

Summary: where the red fern grows
Review: I liked this book because it showed how Billy and his dogs relationship grew throughout the story. Their love and respect grew to the point where they were willing to risk their lives for each other. Billy's parents also helped him through the tough times. They supported him and tried to help him forget horrible things that happened. This book shows that if you are determined, like Billy, you can actually make what you really want come true, just like how Billy got his hounds.I think after Billy saw the sacred red fern by his little dogs graves, he realized that his parents were right about what they said about God. I think that the sacred red fern was planted on Old Dan and Little Ann's graves because he was trying to apoligize to Billy for making him suffer so much. He therefore, was making Old Dan and Little Ann's graves a sacred spot forever. They were safe forever. Billy, Old Dan, and Little Ann's relationship was also very equal. When Little Ann was almost dead in the freezing river, Billy found a way to save her while have the risk of dieing himself. Also when Billy was almost being killed by the mountain lion, they jumped in between them and risked their little lives for his. And when Billy saved Old Dan from all those fights with coons and cats, he saved him for those coons could have ripped Old Dan apart. These were definitely three of the closest friend I've ever seen or read about, even if it is between a human and animals, they still understand each other and respect other.I loved this book. It taught many lessons along with adventures, hunts, competition, friendship, courage, love, victories, and losses. It was one of the best books I've ever read!
