Review: Where the red fern grows was so good. I also saw the movie but the book was better. I love the dogs they ar eso cute. There names fit them perfectly. LITTLE ANN and BIG DAN.

Review: The book Where the Red Fern Grows is by Wilson Rawls. The main character, Billy, is a young boy with a mother, father and 2 sisters. His grandfather runs a store up the street. He wants more than anything in the world to get a coon hound so he could hunt. But his family just doesn't have the money. So Billy starts doing odd jobs and saves money in a coffee can. He saves for 2 years and then he has enough, $50, to get 2 coon hounds. He gives the money to his grandfather and he orders them. Billy's grandfather is lost in a snowstorm because he slipped and hurt his ankle. Old Dan and Little Ann go looking for him and get lost too. In conclusion, it is a great book that you should read, you will not be able to put it down.

After he gets the puppies he trains them to hunt for coons never knowing that he has the best hunting dogs in the country. When the puppies are fully trained he has great adventures winning coon hunting contests, until the deadly fight against a mountain lion.

Review: I think that this novel is terrific. This book is about a boy and the adventures he has with his two dogs. The bond between Billy and his dogs was unbreakable. In the end, it was his dogs who saved his life. Wilson Rawls is an excellent writer. The beginning of the novel was okay, but the ending was beautiful. The ending was really sad, and I even cried a bit. This novel is simply something too beautiful to be put into words;you'll have to read it for yourself to understand what I mean. All I can say is that this book is one that you definitely don't want to miss.

Review: This was a really good book. I like the fact that it deals with all subjects about what this boy is feeling. It has many emotions in it, and I think that it was written very well. I like animals, so I also think that this was a good book because it had two dogs as the main characters. I think the ending is very sad, but it's still a very good book, and without the ending like that, there would be no point in writing the book. The especially good part about it is that at the very end, the Red Fern grows where the dogs were buried, and they say that it was "Planted by an Angel" to make Billy understand why his dogs ad to die. I also like the way the dogs risked their lives to save Billy, and that shows that they rally loved them

Review: This book was very exciting to read. At first, it was hard to understand why it was called "Where the red fern grows" because it did not mention anything about it, but at the end i found out. This story was very detailed and made you feel the pain of this man. It was very enjoyable and sad. It's very sad how Billy finally gets his two dogs and at the end they die. This book was about how a man one day found a dog out in the rain and gave it shelter until it got its strength back. Seeing this dog helped him remember his childhood. He then tells the story about when he was a young kid and always wanted to have two hounds. He got them at one point and won an award for hunting the most coons and bringing back their hides. Afterward, they were all in the woods and a mountain lion injured Old Dan really bad. Old Dan died and so Billy buried him. Little Ann died of depression because she couldn't stand living without Old Dan. So, Billy buried her right next to Old Dan and suprisingly, a red fern grew right in the middle and covered their graves. It was said that a red fern was only planted by an angel. This made Billy surprised while he was sad at the same time because he was leaving his old home and going off to live to town. Then, i understood why it was called where the red fern grows. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes stories about animals. This was a great book and i enjoyed it a lot.
