Review: A Man's Best Friend

I really loved this book. This is definitely the best book I have ever read. I do not read a whole lot, but this book really got me interested. I will probably read this novel over and over again. This novel is about a young boy by the name of Billy Coleman. He is a boy that will do anything to accomplish his dreams. He lives way back in the hill of the Ozark Mountains. He is a poor boy that has to work for every thing he wants and dreams of in life and would do anything for it. He one day decides he wants a couple of hounds. He wanted two Red Bone coonhounds. He worked hard for two years to enough money for them and when he finally gets them they turn out to be pretty good hounds. Billy is an awesome character in the story. He shows how life should be. Wilson Rawls is a great writer. He is now my favorite author. I highly recommend this novel to anyone.

Review: Where the Red Fern Grows is an amazing book. When a friend reccomned it to me, I wasn't too sure about reading it, because I usually don't like animal books. But after I started reading it, I realized that this wasn't just an animal story. It was a story of true friendship.
This book is truly heartwarming and definately a tear jerker. I would reccomend it to any age, young or old. Where the Red Fern Grows is a book that you won't want to miss. It is one of the best pieces of literature that I have ever read.

Summary: A classic for all ages
Review: Wilson Rawls does it, this book is a timeless classic. Preferably for older children due to some of the subject content, ie: death and dying. This is one book I still read and I am 30 years old, and it still makes me cry everytime I read it. You're never too old to read this book.
Wilson Rawls put together a wonderful story about a young boy's relationship with two dogs, it is a story you will find yourself recommending to all.

Summary: This is a great book!
Review: Where the Red Fern Grows is a great story about friendship and determination. Billy was determined to earn $50 for puppies when he saw an ad that said,"Coon hound puppies for sale $50." For 2 years Billy worked hard and had lots of determination, so in the end Billy had $50 for his coon hounds. Billy and his puppies, Old Dan and Little Ann, had a great bond of friendship. One day, Old Dan and Little Ann got into a fight with a mountain lion. When Billy tried to help his dogs fight the lion, the lion started to move towards Billy. Old Dan and Little Ann had such a great bond of friendship with Billy, that they sacrificed their lives for Billy. The dogs stood between the lion and Billy, so that Billy wouldn't get harmed by the lion.

Summary: Great book for 10 years+
Review: Wilson Rawls has the mind of a great writer, this and his other book Summer of the Monkeys both take place in the Oklahoma Ozarks around the time of the depression. I'm pretty sure this is a fictional autobiography of his life. I am a 7th grade stundent from Massachusetts and would recommend this book to any 10 year-old to a 50 year-old. I am in the midst of writing an essay of this novel about Billy and his dogs' unique bond of love. I have not yet seen the movie and do not intend to (I generally don't like watching a movie after I've read it's book).

Summary: Favorite Book
Review: I read this book when I was in 5th grade. I am now in my 30's. I would recommend this book to kids and adults alike. This story of determination, hard work, love, devotion, happiness and sorrow can teach us many things and bring us back to moral values. And it's not a bad story either. Beware: You will need a box of kleenex when reading this book.

I positively, absolutely loved it.

Summary: One of my favorite books!
Review: Where The Red Fern Grows has been my favorite books since I read it. It tells the story about a boy who wants two hunting dogs more than anything thing in the whole world. Billy wants these dogs so bad and the only way he can get them is by saving the money all by himself... He gets a nickle and sometimes a dime buy selling things to the fishermen and picking berries for his Grandpa's store. It takes him a long, long time to save up the money but when he counts fifty dollars worth of change in his old can after two long years of saving every penny he rushes to his Grandpa's store to have him put in order in for two little red hunting pups. When Billy first lays on the little pups he is so overcome with emotion but the pups trot right up to him begging for attention and right at that moment a very special relationship was formed that even the angels of heaven reconized. I would recommend this book to anyone, boy, girl, adult, child, teenager anyone who wants to read a great book! You won't ever forget this touching story of Billy, Old Dan, and Little Ann and their abounding love for each other!
