Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK Review: Where the Red Fern Grows is literally the best book I have ever read. It is a terrific story written by Wilson Rawls about a boy named Billy that has a craving to own his own hounds. The craving becomes so bad that he begins to sell berries and such to fisherman just to make a very little amount of money. If you are the kind of reader that enjoys a good book about true love and animals then this book is perfect for you. If you're wondering if Billy ever achieves his goal of getting his two hounds then I highley recommend you read this book. !!!It's the BEST!!!
Rating: Summary: An emotinal rollercoaster! Review: When I first picked up this book I thought that it looked like a good book just from the cover of it. I'm 13 years old and a dog lover. At the beginning I knew how Billy felt getting the feeling of needing man's best friend. He ends up saving money to buy two coonhounds and from the beginning you can tell its going to be a great bond. I'm not going to tell you anymore because it'll ruin the story. This movie will fill you with joy and will rip your heart out. I admit that I cried at the end and I don't know how anybody couldn't. One of the best books ever!!!!
Rating: Summary: A book about all that is right in this world Review: This is my absolute favorite book. I have to thank my sixth grade teacher Mrs. Diane Stofferahn for introducing it to me. She read the book aloud to my class and then I did not read it again until I was in college. During my second reading I was in tears in the college library--not just because it is a sad book but because it brings out a large range of emotions. You feel pity, joy, excitement, sorrow, and most importantly, love. Rawls writes about what he knows and he knew the life of a country boy. The book chronicles the adventures of Billy, his family, and his beloved red bone coon hounds. If you haven't read this book since your childhood, you will be glad to read it again as an adult. The themes in the book make you wish for a simpler time in life when a boy's best friends can be his father, grandfather, and canine companions.

Rating: Summary: Great Book From Opening Page to the Back Cover! Review: I don't normally read these types of books, but I'm glad I decided to pick up this book. Lots of people were recommending this book to me. This was a great book from beginning to end. I was very pleased with the way the author put this book together. Mr. Rawls had a great balance throught the entire book. This is an excellent book for anyone who likes dogs. The author makes great connections between a family's country life and nature. This book has plenty of adventrous parts. For example, this eleven year old couldn't really be guilty of murder because he loves his dogs too much could he? I would highly recommend this book to any person who likes dogs, adventures, the outdoor life, and hunting. All these things tie together and have a great mix in this book.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: This is a wonderful book. I loved how close Billy and his dogs are. It made me think about my own relationship with my dogs. This book made me laugh and it made me cry. It was full of action and suspense, but the thing I liked most about it was how I could feel the love that Old Dan and Little Ann had for Billy and the love Billy had for them. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever had a special dog in their life!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: I cannot, without crying, get past the part where he sneaks off to gets his new coon pups. This story will touch you a lot, even if you don't like dogs. If you do like dogs, oh heavens . . . look out. His connection to those dogs, his love for them and their love for him makes a tremendous bond. It surely will pull on your heart strings.
Rating: Summary: Where The Red Fern Grows, A Must Read Review: Where the Red Fern Grows is an absolutely wonderful book about loyalty and love. Though it is about an 11-year-old boy, named Billy, who saves up enough money to buy two hound pups for hunting raccoons,I,a girl, found it to be an adventurous and extremely touching story. Billy and his dogs have many adventures hunting coons and God helps them along the way. When I read Where the Red Fern Grows,I cried and cried at the end, since the dogs die. Fortunately though, if you read the whole book, you will not be left filled with sadness, because a red fern, which in this book has a legend to it, grows in between the graves of the dogs. I highly encourage you to read this great book.
