Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern could grow but shouldn't Review: I hated it. It was cruel to animals.Billy cried to much. Billy didn't even work hard.
Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows Review: I loved the book where the Red Fern Grows! It was detailed greatly and had a lot of great adventures in it. I like that the author wrote the story from the view of a kids mind instead of making it seem like he was the adult the whole time. Because that would've been boring. I also like the book because I can relate to the main character, because I love dogs and I live kind of like him because I was brought up on a farm. I love how Billy is so involved and loves his dogs so much. I would recomend this book to dog lovers and people who don't mind hunting. I love the book Where the Red Fern Grows!
Rating: Summary: where the red fern grows Review: I rated this book a three because it didn't catch my intrest very much I also thought the book was very sad I also think that the auther could have done a better job I would not recomend it for children underage eight
Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Groes Review: After reading the other reviews I noticed that Billy did have some crying problem. But that doesn't way out the good things about the book like the message about persistance is rewarded wich it should be in life but that about never happens any more. Some other things I liked were that the dogs cared about Billy and vise versa by the ways that Billy did live up to is word. Over all I liked the book and thought that much of it was true about how dogs and boys act together. I would reckemend it to any one that likes hunting
Rating: Summary: Where wood chips fly and things die Review: I like the book because when ever I got board something awsome happend. For example when I lost intrest the pups would find a coon.
Rating: Summary: Must read Where the red Fern Grows Review: This is the greatest book anyone could ever read. If you're a dog lover this book would highly recomeneded by me. The adventure and love for a boy's dogs is very meaningful and has made a difference in my life. What he goes through every chapter for his dog's is a lot, but his dogs are always there to repay him. Between the smart, loving Little Ann, and heart hunting dog Old Dan, it's a book about loyalty and love for your partners and friends.
Rating: Summary: It's a great story if you HATE Raccoons and Mountain Lions Review: The story is well written and kept my interest. However, the insensitivity of the author to the plight of the raccoons and the mountain lion bothered me. I accept the need to kill wild animals for food, for self defense, and under certain circumstances for fur, but I find torture and murder of wild animals for sport or competition to be apalling. I realize that the boy in the story sold the raccoon skins, so they didn't go to waste. And the encounter with the mountain lion was not intentional, so the eventual killing was self defense. But his attitude towards the raccoons and mountain lion bothered me greatly. I much prefer the attitude expressed by native Americans in many books I have read in which they give thanks to and apologize to the spirit of the animal whose lives they take.
Rating: Summary: Go Red Fern Review: This novel was awesome. It was so well written it kept me intertained the entire time. I highly recommend you read it.
