Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book For Everyone Review: This is an excellent book for people of all ages. It is sad, in a way, but it shows the resourcefulness and spirit of a young girl who was left on an islnad to fend for herself by the use of her own brain and body. A great adventure story!
Rating: Summary: The book stunk, i hated it, don't get it... Review: I'm Paul Maxey, 12 year old from Mt. Airy MD. I was forced into reading this horrible book in my L.A. class at the beggining of the school year. It was very hard to understand, and when you have to take a test on something you didn't really want to read...well, you get the point... So whatever you do, don't get it! PLEASE!Paul Maxey (troubled 12 year old)
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK! Review: The story is about a girl who'se tribe went to the mainland. She and her brother got left behind. The ship never returned for her or her brother. Her brother got attacked by wild dogs and died. She killed most of the wild dogs and kept one and raised it. She named it Rontu. She had to survive and make weapons, canoes, and a place to live. After many years, the ship never came back. Does she survive? Does the ship come back? I liked this book because you never knew if she would die or not. This book is adventurous.
Rating: Summary: A good book for all ages! Review: This book was well thought out and well written. Our favorite part was when Karana meets a dog named Rontu. He becomes her loyal and faithful companion. We would recommened this book to anyone who likes a good adventure.

Rating: Summary: From my eight-year-old perspective Review: I have known 'The Island of The Blue Dolphins' for a long, very long time. I've read it many times, each time it fills me with more joy. I know that some people don't like Scott O'Dell because they believe that Scott's writing has nothing to do with the real world. I hope YOU don't turn out that way! The book talks in a way I can barely understand, but somehow I know what it means. It is about a girl who was abandoned on an island that is shaped like a dolphin. She was abandoned because her tribe was captured and the hunters left her behind because she hid (I think). It's mainly about her, trying to survive on an empty island with no companions (maybe a rock or something). It is a good book and I strongly advise you to read it if you like books. I hope you DO read it!
Rating: Summary: This book is a moving, touching story about survival. Review: This story is sad, but well written and believable. This girl lived most of her life alone, and suffered many hardships. I think this book is a must. I also recommend Zia, it is the sequel to this story, and it is really good, too.
Rating: Summary: What about the dolphins??? Review: This book has a very different appeal to it than what the title says. When I first picked out this book I thought it would be very much about dolphins. Well, I was wrong. I guess the saying goes--don't judge a book by its cover! Other than that I quite enjoyed this book. You could call it a very "adventurous" novel. In school right now we are studying dogs--such as wild dogs. So it helped me understand this book more. One part in the novel that I most enjoyed was how the author described her house that she was making all by herself. I could almost exactly see what the house looked like that Karana was making. At the end of the book, I think that Karana should of stayed on the island. But who knows? DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I liked the book alot. Review: I really enjoyed the book Island Of The Blue Dolphins, when my teacher read it to are class. I think this book can be sad at times and happy some times to.I really like the book.
