Rating: Summary: ok, the people who believe this book are just stupid Review: ok, for one, this is a psychopaths opinion of the truth, not the truth itself. Why are you looking for truth in a book such as this to begin with? if your looking for truth, try the Bible!! i mean, DUH here, why not try intelligent thinking every once in a while you people???
Rating: Summary: Good finale to "trilogy" Review: I have a fairly pragmatic view of this series as one which contains a lot of wisdom and much unconventional ways of thinking that have the potential to make you a better person but that certainly did not come from a literal "communication" with God. As such, if you enjoyed the first book in the series, you'll get a lot out of this one. This book returns from the global consciousness of the second book to the puruit of truth by the individual. It goes deeper than the first book and contains stronger messages. If you thought the first one was too New-Agey and radical, this one is more so! But if you saw it as a collection of unorthodox thoughts some of which just might help one's life then this book rounds out the whole "system" very nicely.
Rating: Summary: a reader who most of her life was a christian Review: When I was very young, I did what all other christians do- i accepted Jesus into my heart. I believed 100% in the Bible. One night, at the age of 27 my husband (who is also christian) brought this book home for me. He believed it to be just another christian book. I found it fascinating. I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. The next morning I was very confused. I had NEVER before doubted my religion. I prayed and prayed for God to show me the truth that night and every night since. After all of that prayer, I have to admit that I have felt "led" to keep searching for answers not found in my church or The Bible. These answers and "this God" make more sense. This book and others like it do not give you an "okay to do everything you want" like many of the reviews have said. I do not believe that these reviewers have actually read and tried to understand the full content of these books. They are just scared like I was. Some are scared that the book is wrong and the work of the devil. Some are scared that the book is the truth and that what they have always been taught and believed in is wrong. The latter is how I now see it, and though it has caused me some anguish(due to sifting out a lot of what I used to believe in),it has mostly brought me joy and helped me truly experience the wonders of God and this world. The world is now a much more beautiful place than it ever was before.
Rating: Summary: Its quite sad actually.... Review: Unenlightening. Its all about a guy who believes that whatever he feels and makes him feel better about hismself must be true. His "conversations with God" as he puts it may as well be conversations with himself... as with most NEW AGE SPIRITUALITY material... its all about being your own God! do what you feel like and justify it to yourself and then say that God made you do it. yikes. He says "Hell is the PAIN YOU SUFFER THROUGH WRONG THINKING. Hell is also the OPPOSITE of JOY. It is UNFULFILLMENT." 50% true and 50% wishful thinking just like horoscopes... so simplistic and whoah... deep... NOT! and I bet it is a hit with those that believe their horoscopes too.Anyway... I accidentally bought the book and read it PURE HELL. I tore it up and chucked it in the bin... lest it lead other people into HELL. it made me respect all the major religions more. If you really believe in this book... I can't change your mind. But please keep your heart and mind open... and in your conversations with God... truly ask him to lead you... let him drive. May God truly be with you.
Rating: Summary: forgot to mention.... Review: to those of you that say this is satan's work or that this book teaches selfishness and that the bible and jesus christ is the only way i wanted to say that i haven't come across one person that believes in CWG (or positive reviewer) that says anything along the lines of "i can't wait to go out and do what i want, kill people and be selfish". what i hear people saying are "i feel peace, love and joy and want to share it". if that's satan's work then i guess i'm a hardcore satanist. also, have you ever considered for one second that perhaps this is a book "for the rest of us". if the bible (or any other book) does it for you and brings you peace, love and joy then so be it. should you not be happy that the rest of us are saying "wow i have something for me now"? but no. rather you fight it, condemn it and call yourselves right and us wrong and then you wonder where war and conflict come from? then you have the short-sighted nerve to say that war and conflict is satan's work when you've clearly demonstrated that it comes from yourself. wouldn't it be more evolved to say to us "great to hear you've found something". let us all find our own paths to god and all live in peace, joy, love and happiness. not codemn and preach. the books teach that understanding brings enlightenment, peace and joy. so the quest is to find what brings you enlightenment. if it's the bible so be it. if it's pure science so be it. if you read the series you will see that it incorporates all paths and walks of life into it. it says find yourself. so let's all find ourselves and support each other in that quest. doesn't that sound like a nice world to live in? is CWG the work of something you call "satan"? i think not.
Rating: Summary: More books like this PLEASE!!! Review: This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I have no doubt in it's message. It's time for people to stop looking for answers in the Bible when they can find it on their own. God is God, Jesus is Jesus etc. Jesus is not God, no more than we are. Jesus is a son of God as we are also sons and daughters of God. I've been talking to God for years and I don't expect an answer, at least not in the way he came through the author. I get my answers from nature, from strangers, from birds and other oracles and especially from the voice inside me telling me what I need to know. I no longer doubt that voice.
Rating: Summary: The REAL bible Review: This is the REAL bible if you're looking for a conversation with God (wich I have all the time...) and how it really is, cause it all feels and sounds 200% right when you read this book and 100% logical (if you're open-minded enough, ready to listen and not block everything out that's different from your beliefsystem - but that's how you've been tought to act, he?! I know...) and re-think everything that is being brainwashed into your head since you where a little kid till now, by your parents, family, culture, friends, society, TV, media, etc, etc... I was raised with a religion called the Islam, but I never believed any of it, cause I was always connected with myself and my intuition and it just didn't feel "right" what they where saying and believing (and preeching). The same goes for ALL religions. Find the Truth within yourself (that's where it is!) and do what feels good to YOU, That inner-voice (your intuition) is God speaking to you, not an old man with a long beard on a cloud somewhere... If you HAVE noticed, in the last 2000 years there's something like telescopes and far more advanced equipment... Can't locate a so called "heaven" or "hell" in a million lightyears around our planet... If people would only start thinking and use there logical sense... and this book is for me the best book ever written, cause I connected to the life-energy around me and within me, something people also call The Universe, God, or whatever you wannna call it. There is only one thing that's real: and that's Unconditional Love and exeptens of EVERYONE. There is no good or bad, only if you choose to see it that way. There is no reality, only percertion ;-) This book tells it how it is and how all of these cultural myths and fears have made us turn away from "God" instead of connecting with her. Just like a little kid who listends to his intuition, but the "grown-ups" tell him to listen to THEM and so he gets disconnected from the ultimate: his inner-voice, wich is God.
Rating: Summary: hell Review: it is sad that so many people misunderstand the christian idea of hell (including many christians.) we know much more about heaven than hell, for heaven is the home of humanity and therefore contains all that is implied in a glorified human life: but hell was not made for men. it is in no sense parellel to heaven: it is the the darkness outside, the outer rim where being fades away into nonentity.
Rating: Summary: Unhappy childhood Review: Jeepers. This Walsch guy (and all of his gushing fans) must have had really unhappy childhoods. All this guy talks about is how the "Christian God" is mean and judgemental. Didn't this guy ever read the New Testament? Don't you guys get it? God loves us so much that he humbled Himself and became one of us. He suffered with us and actually allowed the bunch of us selfish, self-centered idiots to kill Him. Then He turned that expression of OUR meaness and judgementalness into a vehicle to save us and allow us to become His adopted children. That's REAL love and forgiveness. The story of Christ is the most beautiful, strange and mystical love story ever told. This Walsch book is little more than an instruction manual on how not to feel guilty when masturbating.
Rating: Summary: An invitation to us all Review: All of the books in this series are an invitation...They invite us to open our hearts and minds to some new ideas...In so doing, we can find peace in ourselves, and bring peace to the lives of others...Namaste'
