Summary: the bad beggining by josh wise
Review: this book is great! although i feel bad saying that because its about three kids whose lives are absolutely awful in pretty much every way! After receiving news of their parents utterly awful (and more to the point unexplainable) demise while playing peacefully on the beach! Violet, sunny & klaus baudelaire are sent (by the ever-coughing mr poe!) to their new guardian(and their FIRST as their are many more books to come!) the ever-evil count olaf! Who attemps to steal the baudelaire fortune. I really enjoyed it! it is funnier (as it is a children's book) than it has any right to be! i particularly recommend this one to kids around 9-14 for it's simplicity of style!

Summary: Lemony Sniket is Coolio!
Review: I read this book 'cause all my homies said that Lemony Snicket's line of Unforunate Events was coolio. So when I was reading it I was like whoa this book really is coolio. And then I went to the book store and bought all of them and its driving me cravy because I still dont know what VFD stands for. Also my fav book of Unforunate Events was defedently the VILE VILLIAGE. and then probably the WIDE WINDOW but then after that its the BAD BEGINNG. But enogh about that everybody should listen to MEST.

Summary: The Bad Beginning is a Good beginning.... :D
Review: Unlike many series that decline in quality as it goes on, Series of Unfortunate Events only gets better. Not only that when you read the first say, 2 or 3 books, you will NOT be completely accustomed to the humor. Especially in the first book, in fact in the first book all the horrible events REALLY seem horrible!!! I know they made me angry and devestated and frustated at the Baudelare's horrible misfortunes. But after a few books you begin to see th humor in each new situation, of course you will still get mad, but you'll find your self busting out laughing more than getting angry.

So onto the review... Well in book one we our introduced to the Baudelaire's, they are quite happy children that live with their parents in a large house, and are very rich. These children include: Violet, a 14 year old whom is a genius inventor, and will tie her up when in the midst of inventing, Klaus, her 12 year old brother whom is a genius of books, hecan't get enough of them, and is quite often a well of imformation, and last but not least Sunny, a small baby whom is still crawling, can't really talk yet except with made up words, but she has for EXTREMELY long & sharp teeth.

Now, so the story goes, the Baudelare children were playing on the beach, when they became orphans(wont tell you how), this is where there misfortunes began, because they must live with a gardian now, a relative or something. Well, they end up living with Count Olaf, and really I don't want to tell you more, it'll just spoil the books.

Well, anyways, it took me a while to really appreciate this series, I really didn't enjoy a lot until this year(I'm 19yrs), and I started reading these when I was 17yrs. I recently picked them up again after about a year's hiatus where I left off at book 3. After reading book 4, I was hooked. So my advice to you is, even if you don't REALLY enjoy these book at first, try picking them up again, because, well you might just find you appreciate them now as I do.

God Bless & *enjoy* ~Amy

Summary: AWSOME BOOK!!!!!!!!!
Review: Awsome book that gets you hooked from the first paragraph! When I first started reading this book I couldn't put it down.. I read all day when I first got it. After I finished it that weekend I was so eager to get back to school to get the second book of The Series of Unfortunate Events that I went strait to the library to check it out. I could relate to thier situations and thier enemies. Lemony Snicket did an excelent job writing this wonderful children's novel, and I would recomend this book to anyone who reads any kind of book.

Summary: The Bad Beginning
Review: Have your parents or family member died if so you may know how the bauldileirs feel in this. Their parents died in a fire. The fire burned down their house and most everything inside. Now they have to live with their parent's friend temporally until they find a family member for the baudileirs.
A couple days later they find a family member and he calls himself count Olaf. While the kids are there they have a miserable time with him. He treats them horrid and makes them do so many chores. I would recommend this book to some one who enjoys mystery and realistic fiction.
Now he has planned marry poor violet the oldest of the baudileirs. If he succeeds he will own the entire baudileirs fortune. Will any thing go wrong with the wedding? Lemony, Snicket writes many other books the bad begging is just one of many of his books. It's also a series book. Some of his others are The Basic 8 and watch Your Mouth.

Summary: Now THAT was a bad book!
Review: When i heard my entire grade ranting about how fabulously amazing it was, i decided to read it. it sucked. i was expecting a phenomoneal book full of emotion and sacrifice. instead, you might as well have made a list of bad things that could happen, and publish it in a best selling book. Snicket did what anyone else could have, think of bad things. over all, i would NEVER suggest this book to anyone else.

Summary: The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events)
Review: Dear Reader,

I am sorry to say this book that you are bound to hold in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe.
From the very first page in this bood when the children are at the beach and recieve terrible news, continuing on through the story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune.
In this short book alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast.

Summary: A series of unfortunate events: Book the first
Review: A particularly magnificent book by the great and imaginitive author Lemony Snicket! Well written and gripping from start to finish! I was greatly dissapointed when I finished this book as I had enjoyed it so much! I could not manage (to the great annoyance of my mother) to tear myself away from this soon to be classic! It took me six hours to complete this book!!! Although some do say I have the reading ability of my grandfather! We are both "bookaholics" say some of our relatives! Well, this is my review on the masterpiece "A series of unfortunate events: Book the First: The Bad Beginning"! Enjoy!!!

Summary: Strange and Humorous
Review: I was a bit reluctant to pick this book up at the store, but I did, and I'm glad I did.
Lemony Snicket has a most unique way of writing such a bleak story about three unfortunate orphans who are made to live with a horrible relative.
The story is not based on its character development. It's based on the interesting plot, which is kind of disturbing though.
This book is a bit fantastical and this horrible situation would probably not happen in real life, but it is still a pretty good read.

The story is so strange and different, you just have to try it. Also, the books get even more interesting as the series progresses.

Summary: The Bad Beginning
Review: This is a sad story about three Baudelaire children named Klaus, Sunny, and Violet. And their distant relative, named Count Olaf that is trying to steal their fortune. Good thing these three little kids are very smart. And there is this lady that always there to help them. That person is Justice Strauss.

Count Olaf has to take care of these Baudelaire kids. Then he thinks of trying to steal the Baudelaire fortune with his associates. He thinks of trying to steal it by trying to marry the oldest child, Violet Baudelaire legally. Then Klaus goes to Justice Strauss's library to figure out everything he could about marriage.

Then it is the day when they have to perform the play where everyone is invited. But Sunny couldn't make it because she was hanging at the rooftop of Count Olaf's house. But his plan all goes wrong when Violet doesn't sign the paper with her correct hand. The Count Olaf escapes with his associates and everything is fine. But where are the Baudelaire children going to live?

I liked this book because it is exciting and kind of has some adventure. I also liked this book because the kids are brilliant and like to work as hard as they could. Violet is good at mechanics or inventing things. Klaus likes to read a lot and is good at looking for information and also understanding difficult words. He can also solve puzzles that are difficult. Sunny is creative by using her four sharp teeth. This was a really great book and I recommend every one of fifth to eighth graders to read this book.
