Summary: such a sad story but all to common as I would know
Review: This book is so heartbreaking because this kind of thing goes on every single minute of every day. I am a child abuse case with a happy ending but not without deep deep scars. Purchase this book and you won't be able to lay it down.

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!
Review: I believe that this book is and was dramatically inspiring to I, the reader. I found after reading the first paragraph, that this book was mereley impossible to put down, let alone heart breaking. After this book was recomended to me by one of my fellow pupils, I encouraged the small group of three girls in my reading group to change the book from an Agatha Christy mystery novel to "A Child Called "It"" We all agreed that this book was a truly amazing, that in fact a human being could be that brutal and injust to one of their own offspring. On behalf of my fellow class mates and I, this is the best book either of us had ever read in our life. And we all recomend that everyone who reads this reads this book atleast twice, and then read the sequel, "The Lost Boy", and "A Man Named Dave".

Summary: This book opened my eyes to the horrors of child abuse.
Review: I bought this book on a whim, and once I began reading it, I could not stop. The acts described were unimaginable, but what really held my attention was the author's determination to suvive. At such a young age he knew the value of his life, something many adults haven't realized. As a pre-school teacher, I am interested in most literary works with children as the subject. I have seen news reports of child abuse, but they don't grab you the way Mr. Pelzer's account of his life with his biological mother does. It truly pulls at your heartstrings, and makes you want to reach out, grab the child and make everything alright.

Summary: Moving...this story changed my heart forever.
Review: In all of my life, I have never imagined an existence that is so horrific, and certainly not in the context of a child. This book should inspire every person to take note of what is happening around them, to be aware of what others are dealing with, and to help and make a difference no matter the slight inconvienience to ones self. My heart is breaking for that little boy and I give him a world of credit for breaking the chain and using his experiences to make a true difference in the world. He truly is a SURVIVOR!!

Summary: This is the most heart-beating book that have ever read.
Review: At times, this book made me cry, and at other times, this book made my heart race faster then ever! I absolutely love this book and I am definately going to buy the sequel called "The Lost Boy." A Child Called "It" is my favorite book and David Pelzer is my favorite author. I definately would require everybody to read this book because after you read it, you would have regretted it if you hadn't!

Summary: OH PLEASEEEE!
Review: I just finished reading this book and to me it seems that the horror is intresting to read. BUt my queston like all the others have asked before me is how did his parents go from a loving couple to a father that doesn't care and run out on the mother and a mother that just ups and starts to beat the living daylights out of this kid. What of his interaction between this child and his sibilings??? There is a lot missing from this that I'm not realling willing to spend money on fnishing this group of books. I would advise you all not to do the same.

Summary: Could not put this book down until I finished it.
Review: An excellent book that at times made my blood boil and at other times run ice cold. What Dave went through in his childhood was so horrific. For his motto now to be "Helping others...to help themselves" says so much about his strength, his love for God, and his innate goodness.

Summary: Heartbreaking
Review: I bought this book through United Methodist Women. Actually, my six-year old son picked it out for the picture on the cover. I started reading it, and could not put it down, except to cry. I have never read anything so heartbreaking. It is so hard to comprehend that there are so many children in this world who are abused and tortured, that go unnoticed. Dave, with a little boy of my own and a daughter in fourth grade, I wanted to take hold of the little boy in this book and never let him go. I thank God that you were finally taken away from that situation. God bless you!
