Rating: Summary: A Child Called "It" Review: This is a very good book. Its about a little boy and he gets mistreated by his mom, and when he gets into troulbe, he gets a very bad punishment. Onetime his mom was going to make him sit on a stove that has been on for like 30 or 40 minutes. But he tries to do something to keep his mind off of what his mom was fixing to make him do, so he tries to think of something like ice cream, something good. But then, she stops feeding him, so he decides to steale it from school, and from neighbors. When his mom found out, she made through-up everyday, until he didn't steal anymore. His mom makes him sit in the bathroom, and she mixed amonia and bleach, and made him drink it. The boy is about 6 or 7 years old, and they already mistreating him, it is a sad and good book, well, he finally gets the wish he has been wishing for, forever, he doesn't get mistreated anymore. It is the best book that i have read in a long while.

Rating: Summary: A Child Called "It" Review: The book that I read was A CHILD CALLED "IT" by Dave Pelzer. I liked this book because it was realistic. Even though I liked the book, there were a lot of times when I didn't like the outcome. I couldn't put the book down. The worst part of the book was when David's mother made him eat his brother's diaper's waste. I thought that would be a horrible thing to do to your child. The author did a really good job of describing the characters in the book. I wished that I could have helped the little boy get out of the tough situations that his mother put him through. The conflict in this story was that the little boy got punished for his mother's actions.
Rating: Summary: Review for "A Child Called It" Review: In the memoir, "A Child Called It", author Dave Pelzer shares his tragic childhood abuse stories. His story intrigued so many readers that it was a USA Today and New York Times Best Seller. Since the release of "A Child Called It", Pelzer has written two sequels. I enjoyed the way David went into explicit detail for each beating he received which lets us experience his pain. Through this book, David proves his loyalty and devotion to his family, even his father, the man who promised to save his son but instead left him for death. David only dreamed about teh day he would be given a meal, and the day that his brothers would stop resenting him and finally welcome him to the family. Pelzer's story is an amazing account of child's dreadful experience in an abusive household, and how he overcame the liefestyle he though he would never escape. I enjoyed this story tremendously and it would be enjoyed by anyone and it is especially meaningful because it enlightens its readers on the truth of child abuse.
Rating: Summary: Really Good Book Review: This is a really good book! At first, I thought it would be really depressing since its about child abuse but it is really enlightening and gives you hope for other abused children. You want to reach out and help every other abused child. I was on th fence about whether i wanted to read it or not, because its hard to think about the torture that this little boy has to deal with, but I loved every minute of the book and couldn't put it down. I recomend it to anyone who wants to help children who can't help themselves.
Rating: Summary: I love it! Review: David Pelzer is my hero. This book was hard to read because it makes you relize that children are abused in this world, maybe even right next door. This book made me want to reach out and rescue young David and tell him I loved him, that he was more than a child called it. The book made me think, "Wake up, Margo! There is more to the world than your petty little prolems!" I cried when I finished this book because I wanted to help somehow. I felt tons of emotion when reading this book and I will never forget it. I wish I could talk to Dave's mother and ask her "Why?"
Rating: Summary: Not a book, But a glimmer of light! Review: This book emminates with light!! Dave Pulzer is the bringer of this light, and he speaks with the words of a child. Honest, loving, innocent. Humanity jumps from this story! Read it and LISTEN! We are all around you, and we need you..... each other!
Rating: Summary: Abused Child Review: A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer is an excellent, and heart-filled book. The thing I like about A Child Called It is that it is very detailed. The autobiography is about a young boy, Dave Pelzer, who is abused by his mother. Chapter after chapter Pelzer tells you more about what happened to him and why young children should not be abused. Pelzer shares the gruesome details of being starved and beaten every night. He also describes what it felt like to go to school with the same clothes every year. Pelzer wants to share his stories about his horrible life that nobody should ever experience. The things I did not like about the book were the graphic details of his childhood. The book was emotionally draining because Pelzer would describe being beaten and stabbed, which was too much for me. I would recommend this book to mature audiences because of the graphic details and the language. If you liked A Child Called It then you would want to read the two sequels The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave.
Rating: Summary: page turner!!! Review: This is definetly a page turner. I couldn't put it down! I started one evening and finished it the next morning. It really opened my eyes on just how cruel someone could be. That cases like this probably happen all the time. What Dave's mother puts him through is unbelievable. You won't believe what your reading!! What is even more amazing is that through the years of torture both physical and emotional abuse this young child survives.
