Summary: Dave Pelzers Amazing Tale
Review: " A Child Called It" is an eye waking story about the real life of an abused child. It goes to show how much we really don't hear about and how a family can just snap. It's a good book and one that once you pick it up you cant put down. The life for Dave Pelzer started out great a simple happy family but then one year out the blue his mother turns, creating sicker and sicker punishments for him. It start off simple with normal punishment but soon after time she's stabbed him, tried to roast him on a stove and coming close but only burning his arm, stuffed his little brothers "used" diapers in his face so he'll eat them, and even had him eat his puke every day after just to see if he had eaten, and that's not even half all the horrific things she did to him. Not only did she use physical punishment on him she also used mental, all the way to the point that he thought he deserved his punishments. He was even sent to live in the garage with no contact with his family or friends if he had any, even his clothes were nothing but rags.
I suggest this book to anyone it was great, he really makes you feel as though your part of the book you can really feel his pain. Once I picked it up it never left my hands until I was done. I think anyone who reads this will be wanting to know more of this story and want to read his books, I suggest everyone go out and get this book NOW!

'A Child called It'
How would you like getting abused by your own mother? How would you like getting stabbed in the side? That is a couple of things that happen in A Child called It. I have learned never to live with that family.
In this book I learned never to disobey your mom. In the book if Dave disobey his mom, he would get beat really bad. For example, if Dave took his hands out of the dishwater, his mom would come in and hit his head on the cabinet door.
Also I learned not to steal from other people. In the book Dave steals food from other classmates. When Dave got home his mom made him throw up the food. She did that so he did not have food in his system.
I learned to tell the truth. In the book the cops tell Dave to tell the truth. In my house if we lie we get inj big trouble.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks for your time.]

Summary: A Must-Read for Everyone
Review: A Child Called "It" by David Pelzer is a horrifying, yet hopeful, penetrating story. It tells the account of the third-worst child abuse case in all of California. When I read this book, I thought to myself, "If this is the third-worst, I'd hate to see the worst". You would, too, after you read all of the brutal and inhuman things David Pelzer's mother does to him... from brutal beatings, to ten days of nothing to eat, from shoving a spoon of amnonia down his throat, to making a "gas chamber" in the bathroom, and so many, many other horrible things she does to him.
This book opened my eyes to the real world, and enlightened my spirit (as Dave's amazing courage and confidence keeps him alive), and really made me think. This book is a great read... even for children, as they need to understand how horrible child abuse is, too (except I wouldn't reccomend it for children under 8).

Summary: A have to read book
Review: I liked the book a child called it because it really made me want to keep reading by explaining how his mother treated him and to see if he would live. I think that if a kid who was abused read this book it would change their attitude in a good wat and if an abusive parent or parents read this book it could get worse by giving them an idea of how to abuse their kid. Well I think that A Child Called It is a have to read book.

Summary: If You think your life is hard, read this book, first
Review: "Beep, Beep,"blows the horn of a passing semi! HELP STOP ALL CHILD ABUSE, says a posted sign on billboard. As soon as I see that sign, I automatically think about a little boy named David and how he was abused by his mother as a young child. I thought about it and I never knew how much sorro I felt for the little boy and how hard it must have been to have to grow up with such a cruel family.
In the book, Pelzer describes the boy as having an unbearably harsh home life. David's mother must of had some sort of problem because of the ways that she would think to abuse her son were unbelievable. The one thing that really caught my eye was the way that she would starve her son for long periods of time. At one point in the book, David would pass out about every few minutes because he didn't have enough energy to stay awake and to keep going. The only way for him to stay alive was to eat the scraps of food that the family dog wouldn't eat. I guess that the rest of the family wasn't as bad as the mother, but toward the end of the book, she was getting them to despise David , too.
I truly believe that David's mother was an evil person. I could not imagine that anyone could treat David the way that she did without having ice on her heart. For example, David and the rest of his family went on a long vacation up to their beach house. One morning David's father took his brothers and went to the beach to swim, but David was made to stay behind. When the family left David was sent to sit in the corner in the chair and there he was tied to the chair...His mother made him close his eyes and she went and she got a dirty diaper and she made him eat what was inside of it. After that she made him say over and over again that he was a very bad boy. If I would have ever done that to a child, I wouldn't be able to live with myself, and there is one thing that is for sure that if I did that I wouldn't be going to heaven.
In this book David's father is afraid of his wife. He would do anything because he thinks that if he stands up to her that she will take out all of her anger on the kids. You could tell that his father did like David because he would do things like secretly give him food. If I was in the father's place, I wouldn't take any crap from my wife and I sure wouldn't let her beat up on my kids. I would take David and run away. I would report her to the police, and then there wouldn't be any more problems.
David's parents were very good at keeping what they did to David a secret. When they would go out with the family, they would treat him like a prince and there was no way that you could have noticed anything. If they had to go out in public, they simply would just lock him in the house so that they didn't have to deal with him. When David would go to school, his mother had beaten him up; she would send a note saying that he ran into a door, or that he was playing and that he got hurt while he was doing so. Many times she used the excuse that he fell down the stairs.
Children that live in abusive situations need to learn how to be strong and play the game until there is a time when they can make it known about what their parents are doing to them. I think that if they get out of that abusive spot that they can become a good person. A very good
example of this is the author of the book, I Child Called "It", David Pelzer.

Summary: A Child Called It
Review: This is an amazingly true story, about a boy and his cruel tortures and beatings by his own mother!! Reading this book you will not believe all of the things a mother puts her own son through. This is a very sad book, but yet very interesting to see how this young boy learns to cope with his mother, and the cruel things she puts him through. He's ready for his mother to do anything to him, but reading all the things she does to him it's amazing to see how the story ends!! It thrilled me. If you read this book, I'm sure you will feel the same!

Summary: A Great Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: "Hey everybody stop what your doing and pick up A Child Called It now." It's such a great book; just read and enjoy. It has a lot of action in it for all you action lovers, suspense, action, and crime. That's all it can ever be. It'll blow your mind right out of this world. You'll get so into this book you'll be up all night trying to figure out what happens next.
What I think about in this book is that you shouldn't be mean to your kids because some woman can't have children, but you can and don't treat them right. For example a boy named David in the book has a mother who beats him everyday. One time his mother struck David about twenty times with her fists across the face. Whoever does that to their children should be put in jail immediately because they could kill that child. David getting hit so many times by his mother everyday brought out his strength in him throughout the whole book. David being strong all the time was his character in the book.
When you say you love your child you should show that affection because kids come from God, and it's just like saying you hate God. Like for example his mother wanted him dead. She only let her other three children play outside. She would cradle all of her other children but NOT DAVID! He's supposed to be called "THE BOY!" When she tried to burn David she would scream I hate you or I want you dead. For some odd reason she would take him to the hospital after she would hurt him severely. I just think it's wrong that he would lie to the doctors.
I believe that you shouldn't favor your kids because it just hurts the other kids and makes them feel not wanted. In the book the mother favored the littlest one and she would love on him more than anyone else. Also the littlest boy in the story sounds like a real snobby brat because he tells on everybody for any thing.
I feel like you should let your child have fun and not make him stay in the basement on his hands and knees. When David's mother, father, and brothers, including himself, all went on vacation, his mom told him that he couldn't go anywhere with the others and she threw a diaper in his face. The diaper was full of baby poop. Right now she should or could be in jail. David could be in counseling because of his childhood. I also was glad that he wrote it instead of keeping it secret. Well I guess I'll never get to know until he writes a book about himself now.
I honestly have to say that I thought it was a great book. It had a lot of action in it. It was just amazing that he put up with his mother's stuff for so long. It leaves you hanging because you don't know what happens next. When the story has so much good qualities you just need in a book. I think you'll like it and you'll just want one of your own. It can be for adults or children. I know I've been asking and bugging my mom for the whole entire series. I've been bugging her since 1998. Now it's 2002 and that means I've been bugging her for five years to give me the series. I know I get a little carried away sometimes but I can't help it. When you get your hands on this book you'll want to read it all day. I only get carried away when I love something and if I'm passionate about it. The reason why I picked this book is because it touched my heart so much and because I could relate to it more than any of my other stories. Well thanks for your time and I hope if you'll buy just the first book in the series, you'll love it. If you don't then I'm sorry but that just means that your just not into the book, and that you can't relate to it at all.

Summary: a child called it
Review: "I wish I had a warmer corner," David says.
His mother makes him stand in the garage corner until she tells him otherwise. When she tells him he can go to bed , he has to go to his little cot out in the garage and get up early in the morning to go to school. On David's way to school, he has to stop at stores and steal food because his mother will not feed him! I am reading the story, A Child Called "It". A child called it is about a little boy that gets beat by his mother. I don not mean just spankings or anything like that. I mean cut in the side with a knife or shoved down the stairs.
David's dad has lived with David, his wife, and his two other sons for many years. He has seen David get beat so much that he is scared to stand up to his wife because he is scared of what she might do to him until one night when David runs away. The cops find David and call his dad. David felt relieved because he knew his father would tell about how his mother beat him, but he didn't, He just took David home to his corner so he could get beat some more by his mother.
One day, David's dad came home to talk to David and his two other sons. His wife wouldn't let David talk to his father because he was too busy doing the dishes. David's dad was to scared too stand up to his wife after what he had seen her do to her own son, so David just kept working. When David's mother left the room, David's dad helped him do the dishes. When his wife came back in, he quit and acted like he wasn't helping. David always liked it when his father was home because his mother didn't beat him as severe as she did when his father wasn't there.
David has two brothers. His mother buys them lots of stuff but not David. When she comes home from a hard day, she beats him like a dawg, taking it all out on David!
When David finally gets sent to a foster home, he starts steelling stuff. When his foster mother finds this out, he almost gets sent back to his mother, but he doesn't.
As I read this book, I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't like living with David's mother!
I am glad that David's dad helped him through his harsh times as much as he could. Although, I think he should have turned his wife in. It would have saved some beatings he went through. As I read this book I became very grateful that I don't have a mother like David had. I am also glad David pushed himself to live even when she beat him so hard that he thought it would be best for everyone if he just died. I hope when I go through harsh times, I encourage myself to just keep going until I succeed my goal.

Summary: A Childs Servival
Review: "I have to finish the dishes before i get caught, or that means no breakfast." Dave Pelzer had to do chores and slave for his family everyday. The book A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer is a horrifying, shoking, and true story story of his life.
As Dave was growing up his life was just like any other kids then on year his mother start becoming abusive to him, and he was no longeer a normal child. She would not be abusive to Daves brothers just to him. Dave was also not called Dave he was known as "IT." The day he was doing the dishes, hedid not want to put nhis hands in the scolding hot water. So then he was looking for some food, as he was eating the leftovers from his brothers morning cereal he could hear his mother coming down the hallway. He tried to beat her but she catches him, wack he goes onto the floor. When Daves father was around, he would see his wife beting him nad he would not even do nothing about it. When there was a family outing Dave would not be invited because he was not part of the family he ws there slave. If they were not gone they were getting drunk.
Hearing what he went through is so terrible and sad. As you are reading it you would never think that Dvae was abused as a child because he is such a wonderful author. If i was going to rate it from a one to a ten I would give it a ten. I think this way because the book has so many details and the parts of it are just amazing. I would recommened it to readers who lie biography books and books about child abuse.

Summary: The Best Book Ever!!!
Review: This is a very good book, I would recommend it to anybody out there who wants a good book to read. After I read this book, right away, I gave a ten with a high thumbs up. This book got the rating I gave because it was definitely a book that kept my attention and it also kept me on my toes, wanting to keep reading to find out what would happen next. This book is a true story about a boy named David Pelzer, he has a comforting first couple years of his life but then his mother suddenly turns bad on him and he has a terrible life for the rest of his life. His mom made him do many things that adults should be doing and she was very cruel to him. Some of David's chores consisted of having to clean the bathroom floor everyday after he got home from school, doing the dishes after the rest of the family was done eating and also, he was not allowed to do bad in school. If he made one mistake, even if it was something so small, his mother would find out and David would get a beating right when he got home from school. One time, when David got in trouble at school, his punishment from his mother was to survive through a mixture of cleaning solutions that had burned his throat, and the only way he could breathe was to lay flat on the floor and breathe out of a vent. One time, David had supposedly been bad in school and when he got home, he had recieved a beating and that beating made David brake his arm. His mother didn't want to get into trouble so she told him that whenever somebody asked him what happened, he was to tell them that he fell off of the top bunk while in his sleep. Also, one time when he was doing the dishes, he was supposedly not doing them fast enough and he was brutally injured. If you want to find out what happened to this boy while he was doing dishes, I suggest that you get this book and read it.
