Rating: Summary: The good book. By benji Johnson. Review: I liked this book because I was having a really crappy life,(or so I thought) and then I read this book and it really helped me to understand that I could have it alot worse and that there are other people that I probably knew that had it worse than I. Right after I read this book I heard my mom scream Hey dave pelzer is on OPRAH! So I whent to the t.v. and The first thing that I heard him say was... "I forgive my mother for EVERYTHING that she has ever said or done to me."....................WOW! This book is very sad but it is an exelent book and it will help you if your in the dumps.
Rating: Summary: Not even going to finish.................... Review: Let me start with the fact that I am an avid reader and will read almost anything but I am halfway into this story and I am not going to continue reading this foolish tale. I have said "Why?" or "This doesn't make any sense." just once too often. I don't believe a word of it. There is way too much detail in some accounts but absolutely no insight as to why this stuff is occuring. It is a poorly written account of imagined child abuse for monetary gain, nothing else!
Rating: Summary: Cool book! Review: This book is a very cool book, I really got sucked in into the action and the suspense. I gave this book a high rating because the book really showed me to be gratefull of what I have in my life and not to take it for granted. The Character I liked the most would probably be the main character which is David. David showed a lot of bavery which showed his character and he also showed to be a trouble maker. I recomend this book to all the students at (high shcool)because I would like them to feel like I did.
Rating: Summary: An Amazing Book!!!! Review: I have heard of this book A Child Called "It" before, but I never really wanted to read it until this year, when I came to my College Reading class. My teacher told us that it was a very good book and she suggested that we read it. I dicided why not, so I went to the bookstore and got the book. The same day I sat down and started really it, after a few pages I was drawn to it. I wanted to read more, I wanted to know what would happen next. After reading this book, now I know what some children have to go through in their famlies. Thats way now when someone says, "Man, my life (...)" I tell them you know there are children with a lot worser lives then yours. This book also has its funny moments and its sad moments. This is a very easy read book. After I was done with this book I understood why Pelzer's books have been the #1 International Best Seller. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone, young or old. I defiantly give this book a five.
Rating: Summary: Thoughts of my own Review: When I first started reading this book, I had no idea how sad it would be. It was horrifying to read about what happened to Dave as he was growing up in his mother's house. It just seemed so hard for me to imagine what he went through, it almost didn't seem real. Dave's mother gave a whole new meaning to cruel and unusual punishment. I can't even imagine something like that going on now a day. Even though I know this all took place years ago, it's still hard for me to imagine that this was allowed and wasn't stopped earlier than it was. I found Dave to be extremely stong and couragous. I admired him and how he was able to survive living under the condetions that he lived in. Dave's story give people hope for a better future. Although his story was sad, you know that everything will turn out right for him. It just goes to show how things really do change throughout the years and how if you are stong enough and determined, you can overcome anything. I am definitly giving this book five stars.
Rating: Summary: Oh what a life! Review: After reading this book, I've realized that sometimes I take my life for granted. Seeing how Dave lived, I could never imagine living the way he did. His life seemed terrifying and horrible. He didn't have anyone to love him and treat him the way a human being should be treated. He didn't do anything to deserve the life he lived. I don't think I would be able to be as strong as he was if I were in that situation. I admired how strong willed Dave was and how he was able to teach himself to survive in an environment that didn't want him to. Dave never stopped fighting. His ambition to beat his mother in her own game showed me that no matter what, you can't give up fighting for what you believe is right. This book reminds me that life is precious. You can't take your life for granted and you should take advantage of every opportunity that you come across. I would give this book five stars. I think that everyone should read this book and learn from Dave that life is too short to waste and that you should make the most of what you have, just like Dave has done.
Rating: Summary: A Child Called "It" Review: "A Child Called It" What a horrifying and amazing book? Although the book is written in an extremely sad manner, it made me rethink of what an amazing life I had and how much I did not appreciate how wonderful my parents are. I couldn't believe how a mother would abuse her child in such a terrifying way and didn't go through criminal proceedings. I even read it at work during my lunch breaks. All along it kept me thinking, Isn't this America? Why aren't people doing something about this extremely severe child abuse? Were humans blind or just ignorant? Once I picked up this book, I wasn't able to place it down. Whenever I started reading, I would feel chills all over my body. Sometimes I would just start crying because of Dave's innocence. It makes me want to meet Dave and give him a friendly embrace. I learned many things from Dave, he teaches of struggle, and the battle against it, also to have courage when times become difficult. This book definitely gets big thumbs up and I definitely give it a five. I enjoyed reading it, although it has some sad and depressing parts but at the end everything turns out to be Okay.
Rating: Summary: Truly Amazing! Review: David Pelzer's story grabbed my attention one afternoon when he appeared on the Oprah Show. This past weekend I purchased the book & eventhough it broke my heart, I could not put it down. I read & cried on the train & I walked to work without putting it down. Simply a wonderful, emotional book! David Pelzer's determination and strength are an inspiration to everyone!!!!!

Rating: Summary: A child called "it": One childs courae to survive Review: This is one of the bestbooks I have ever read. Once I picked this book up, I could not put it down. I read it at work, while cooking dinner, whatever I was doing, Dave was right there beside me. Not only the book, but the little boy. I have 3 sons of my own, and I just don't understand how a mother could be as cruel as she was. I was put into foster care myself, so I can empithize with him not realy wanting to get his mother into any trouble, but not risking his life. He was so young, so inocent. I love this book. I have also read The lost boy, and A man named dave. I am so glad that dave found happiness in his son Steven. I
