Summary: It gave the best insite of a childs point of view I've read!
Review: I think that he should not delay in publishing his 3rd book and sell it in a special 3 book package especially through book clubs like Double Day Book Club. I know I would buy it.

He should keep writing and I would love for him to get with some orginazations and help them help children and families.

Summary: You can rise above your raising.
Review: I have heard by one college instructor that one can never rise above one's raising. In most cases, possibly but in Dave Pelzer's case, he made it. He was absolutely broken in body and spirit, I have read both his books and am now awaiting 'David, the Man." He was interviewed on a talk show and he did not show any signs of an abused child, especially to the extent of how I have seen people live their lives after such abuse. I was impressed with the Man David, rising above all that he had to endure at his parents hands. I say parents...not just his mother. His father was 75% to blame from the get-go for not grabbing that child and taking off, getting a divorce and raising him with love. The mother could have been stopped within a few weeks of abuse, if the dad would have done what was right. I raised three sons by myself and know...A single parent if pushed can raise children alot better than some two parent households. David is an excellent survivor that others who have been abused should follow, but most wallow in self-pity and never seek therapy to have the mind reprogrammed, the way POW's have to be. He was tortured as any POW and if not treated, they are left with phobias, insecurities, abandonment, and severely screwed up for the rest of their lives. God Bless you, David.

Summary: It was a real eye-opener about child abuse
Review: This book gave me an inside look at what can go on behind closed doors in a seemingly normal family. Although parts of the book were hard to comprehend due to the heinousness of the mother's actions, it gives the reader an eye-opening look at child abuse. This man's story brings to the surface every emotion from hate to love. I recommend it highly.

Summary: Unbelievable Book!
Review: I couldn't put this book down! I read it in one night! I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT THIS WOMAN DID TO HER OWN CHILD!!! I read both books and am still wondering if anything happened to her or the dad? Why not?? I cannot wait for the third book. As an elementary teacher, I strongly recommend this book and am passing it on to my fellow co-workers!

Summary: The best book I have ever read. It really touched my heart.
Review: A Child Called It is the the BEST book I have ever read. I have never had anything touch my heart that much. It really made me very sad for that little boy. I started to cry. He is just such a butiful child that no one should have the right to do that to anyone. I really really recomend it. Please get your hands on it and read it it will touch your heart. Thank you David for writeing it.

Summary: Don't Whine...Do as David Pelzer Did!
Review: I read David Pelzer's first two books and cannot wait to read his last one published so far. He is a strong brilliant young man, who I saw interviewed on Oprah too. His books were written with taste and courage, having to relive those moments of abuse. I raised three sons with only the Good Lord helping me and to abuse a child is beyond my comprehension. I also was a babysitter for eight years and could never have abused a one of my children I watched over. They are such innocents and I love them all to this day. I thank you Dave for having the courage to write the books so others may never take that step to abuse a child in anyway..and rising above your raising..which alot of instructors think no one can do.. I had a dog for 12 years that I treated better than Dave was treated, I now have two puppies whom I loved dearly and would never think of treating them as Dave was treated. Just read the books everyone. It is amazing how one little boy lived to even write the book let alone become an accomplished writer of today. God Bless you, David .V.J.<goldentear@ldd.net>

Summary: "Heartbreaking yet Sickening"
Review: I would have given this book five stars if it was written a little better.I think they should have combined the whole story into one book. The story itself broke my heart and made me angry at the same time.I can't imagine any child going through what David did and be sane enough to write about it.He was such a smart, strong willed child and i think that is what made him survive. His father needed to be shot for letting it happen and the only fair punishment for his mother would have been to torture her the same way she torchured David and then kill her.I work with abused children and i have never had a case even close to being that severe. God bless David for his courage and strength.

Summary: How could a mother hurt something that precious?
Review: I cannot begin to understand the pain this precious little boy endured while in the hands of his "Mother". I bought the book and finished it the same night. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to climb into the story and pull David out with me, but I knew I couldn't. I don't know how a mother could want to hurt something as beautiful as a child. I wish the schools would have done something sooner. Maybe with this book, school officials will pick up on signs of abuse more clearly. I hope David and his son have a long, happy life together. I am glad David is working for abused children. Maybe he can convince them, that no child DESERVES any kind of abuse. It is NOT there fault.

Summary: It was so sad I almost cried
Review: This book was very powerful. I could not put it down. Some of the things that were done to the child made me want to go into the book, take the child, and give him a new life. I was very relieved he was saved. Cant wait to read the next books.
