Rating: Summary: It is a very eye opening book that everyone should read. Review: Before I started to read this book I did not know that there could be such horrible things that a mother could willingly do to anyone, let alone her own son! I'm still in shock over the fact that it really happened, and for the longest time why nobody said or did anything! This book should be handed out to anybody that has anything to do with kids(teachers, daycare,...). It would be a good learning tool for them, so that they could atleast ask questions about any suspicious marks or actions a child may have. I would like to thank Dave for writing such a book and in great detail. This book deserves more than 5 stars but thats all you have.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly touching and emotional! Review: This book was an awesome story of a young boys strugle and eventual win with basically his life. Through out the whole book you feel as if you are David and you are the person being abused, tortured, tormented, and strugling to just stay alive. This book is deffinetly one that will make you cry so don't forget the tissues!! this is a book i would reccomend just about everyone got their hands on, because it's a book you don't want to miss out on.
Rating: Summary: It touched my heart Review: "A Child Called It" is one of the best books I have read in a very long time it had me crying. I recommend it to everyone.
Rating: Summary: A CHILD CALLED IT Review: This was a really moving book and I could not put it down. I wonder how a mother could do that to her own child, it's sick. Most people think this book is about how his mother abuses him but it's more than just that. It's about his will to survive, and how he puts up with her beatings and 'games'. I recommend this book to everybody!!!

Rating: Summary: "It" was the best book in years I've read Review: If you like horrer this will be the best you've read it's the most exciting, nailbiting, can't stop reading book you will ever read!!! A young boy brutely abused by his Mother. After 18 years of abusing (Forcing him to lay on a hot gas stove, throwing a knife at him, hitting and scaring him, and many other terrifing things.)the poor 4-12 year old child, she realizes that she has only hurt the child called "IT"!!!!!!! True story!
Rating: Summary: Great! Riviting! A real page turner! Review: Even though I am just a tteager I read this book and was able to realize even more how severe the problem of child abuse is. This book was a real wake up call to me and I think it should be avalable to everyone. Everyone who reads "A Child Called It" says it is fantastic. Though it was a little gruesome at times it was a real page turner and I just wante to keep reading and find out what happened next. What I really admire about David Pelzer is his courage to tell all. This is a great book and it should be read by all.
Rating: Summary: A Child Called "It" comments from Sarah Wise-14 Review: Mr. Pelzer has many talents, but shows the ultimate honorable quality by telling about this atrocity that occured in his life. Had I been in his situation, I would have been too embarassed to even go to therapy. Mr. Pelzer has more guts than all of us put together. I respect this man, so much that I am waiting anxiously for his next autobiography, "A Man Named Dave". Thank you, Mr. Pelzer, for showing me the light of love.
Rating: Summary: A great book for everyone! Review: This book was very good. It was an abused boy's point of view of life. It was about his struggles and defeats. For as long as he could remember his mother abused him verbally and physically. He was forced to sleep in the garage with no blankets or any type of heat. If he got food it was left overs from his other brother's meals. This book talked about his wishes, dreams, betrayl and pain from his point of view. It was a very realistic book.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring Review: Dave Pelzer shares with the world his remarkable story of a child's will to survive a severely mentally and physically abusive alcoholic mother. This captivating story reveals one child's ability to develop coping skills which allow him to survive. It was so obvious that this child was being abused and neglected, why did it take over five years for someone to help him? This is a definite must read for anyone who works with children as an educational tool, a public awareness if you will, of what the lives of some children are. Also, an excellent inspirational, self help book for anyone who has endured such a situation. You are not alone!
