Summary: A Child Called It
Review: â''A Child Called Itâ'' is a heart-wrenching novel about astounding perseverance and the willpower one boy had to survive. This true story accurately depicts the harsh Brutality of David Pelzerâ''s life from the ages of 4-12. In this book Davidâ''s Mother is an Alcoholic, who brainwashes him into believing he is â''bad boyâ''. He is both physically and emotionally abused; forced to sleep in the cold, dark basement of â''the familyâ'', and is starved almost to death for pleasure. He canâ''t sneak food either because he is forced everyday after school to vomit whatever he may have eaten. His mother is also always thinking up some new, torturous â''gameâ'' for them to play, like drinking ammonia or a game of â''grab and stabâ''. Yes, stab! His three other brothers are left untouched by theirs motherâ''s wrath, all and his father stands on the sidelines like a cowardly dog, as his son is beat murderously. David and his mother indeed share a very secret relationship. A relationship filled with hatred. All of motherâ''s frustration is taken out on him, and I could barely take the loneliness and the need to be someone, anyone, he felt. He had no family. He was all alone. NO ONE would want to experience the struggles he was faced with, and I mean no one! and no little boy should be treated in such a bitchy way. The life of David Pelzer has taught me to be grateful for my life, and thankful I have never had to walk a mile in his shoes. However, it has also taught me never to give up, and to keep fighting. To live, and to live life to the fullest. From the start to the finish of this wonderful book my tears were glued to the page, and yours will be too.

Summary: A Child Called It
Review: A magnificient book wrote by David Pelzer just for you to read. Read and enjoy, or not enjoy. This book explains to you with many, many details about the early childhood of a young boy in autobiogrphic form. In this book David keeps his name the same to make an effect on how people view this book. With his name in their it creates the idea that this really is a true story. The story that I'm talking about is about and young boy of about five or six who's only thing worth living for is the memories of his mother when she wasn't drinking. After she started to drink she would start to physically abuse Dave, from the inside and out. Once you pick this book up you won't want to put it down, but in order to find meaning and purpose in this book you may have to have the right values. A kind, caring person might find this book escrusiating and not want to read it, but once you start, you just can't stop. The vivid writing and course dialog pulls you in, making you the main character. Though there are still many people who may find David's writing offensive and incorrect, but to those of you who feel that, you might not realize that you are like the boys mom, cold and heartless!
Since there is such harsh punishment and ill mannered treatment, I wouldn't recommend anyone under the age of 11 to read this autobiography. Instead aware your children, grandchildren, or younger siblings that things like this do exist, so if any of their friends are experiencing such a torture, they can let you know. The point in David letting people know about his awful past is to show or tell people what it feels like to be that child, and he tells you through experience. I feel that by writing this book he is lifting a trumendous wieght off his shoulders, instead of keeping it secret all of his life. Also that he thinks that by facing and dealing with his past, besides botteling it inside, he is decreasing the chances of the abuse chain continuing.
The Child Called It is a wonderful autobiography of pain, depression, and lonliness. Experience and enjoy how thoughtful David is by spreading the word to your friends and family. A part of the chain is broken! Now is where you come in, help break the chain into even smaller peices. Read the book, tell your friends to read the book, and I garunte you will feel ten times better about yourself. You just helped some porr little child!

Summary: You will definitely tear up!
Review: This is the most tear jerker book that I have read in my whole life. It is about a boy who's mother is an alcoholic and thinks that her youngest boy doesn't deserve anything. From enduring slapping, name calling, soiled clothes, and yes his mother stabbing him. Dave still manages to live through it all. I could not put this book down at all. You will definitely walk away a changed person inside. It is almost impossible to stop crying. This was truly a life changing book. Leaves you thinking an wondering what will happen next. Never a dull moment with this book. Well written indeed.

Summary: This book is a hoax!
Review: And Pelzer is a con-man, laughing his way to the bank. He's been exposed (I believe in the NY Times) as a liar and an exaggerator who buys his own books to trump up their value on the bestseller list. There is no way these things could have happened to him - look past the "horrors" and think for yourself!

Summary: A Child Called It
Review: Imagine living with and unstable mom, who is an alcholic... Getting beaten because she thinks everything you do is bad. Dave Pezler, who's the aurthor of the book wrote about his child hood growing up with his abusive mother. And about the love he had for his dad. Dave looked up to his father as a "hero". But then later his father couldn't stand all the things going wrong and moved out. That's when his mother started getting worse. She would brutaly beat him and torment him all the time. Some of the things she did was, she would put him in a cold bath and let him soak in there forever. She would also let his brother kick him and punch him. One time it got so bad that his mother ended up stabbing him and never took him to the hospital, becasue she use to be a nurse. He has no friends to turn to, or to talk to... But dave ended up surviving, and decided to come out and write about his abusive past. And for that i gave him five stars and if i could i would give him many more. For beeing so brave to write about living with an abusive and an alcholic mother.

Summary: A Child Called It
Review: When I first started to read this I thought it was all make believe. This little boy had the most hope and faith anyone had ever seen. He was determined to get away from his mom that abused him. I loved this book because it had so much detail on what his mom did to him. Not many people survive to write a book about growing up mistreated. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read appealing true stories.

Summary: Regarding other reviews
Review: I have read A CHILD CALLED IT,LOST BOY (David Pelzer) and NIGHTMARES ECHO (Katlyn Stewart)...I am in total agreement with the reviewers regarding these books. They are well written, low in sensationalism and get to the heart of the mayyer. Not only do you learn what it is like to be a child of abuse, but learn so many life lessons that these children as they grew into adults had to learn on thier own. I am in awe.
