Summary: Great book!-A must read
Review: This is a great book for anyone! It tells the true and heart breaking story of Dave Plezer, who was the victim of one of the worst cases of child abuse in California's history. I cried like I never had before while reading this book. Though it is depressing story, it is also thoroughly inspiring. I think this should be required reading! I liked it so much I immediately reread it as soon as I finished!Thank you ever so much Dave for sharing your experiences with the world!

Summary: One of the best out there. What courage!!
Review: I am a teacher so I was compelled to pick up this book and read it. Once I did I could not put it down. Dave should be prasied for his courage. What struck me most about this book was, that even though he was a child being subjected to the most unspeakable abuses he always kept that positive spirit in him, knowing one day he would be free. I think I hated his father more than his mother. He kept promising Dave that he would get him out, but never did. WHY? There was no excuse for his father's just siting by and letting this happen. I have also read The Lost Boy, and this book is also just as good. I can't wait for his third book in this series. But please Dave, tell us what happens to your mother.

Summary: Tragic story
Review: I loved "A Child Called It". It is wonderfully written. I just couldn't put it down. I felt like I was there watching as this child got abused and I just wanted to do those horrible things to the mother. I never knew the extent of the abuse that could go on unnoticed in society today. It is a tragedy that David's mother could do those things to him, an innocent child, when she was the center of her world and all he wanted to do was to plesae him. I am in an Early Childhood Development class and I recomended this book to all of my classmates and teahers to read so that they would know what can go on in people's homes. It is my favorite book and I treasure it. I want to say thank you to Dave Pelzer for writing this book and opening my eyes wider to the world around me.

Summary: Plz hurry and write the 3rd Book. A Man Called David.
Review: I was abused as a child. I could relate to David. I found healing and acceptance. I could read between the lines. I felt the pain, shame and everything else that went on in his life. Somewhere along my way there was no help for me. It wasn't until I was 32 that finally I went looking for help. Thanks David for helping me.

Summary: Incredible
Review: This book was such an inspiration to me. It made me realize how strength and determination can overcome even the most unbearable obstacles. I started reading The Lost Boy and am cheering him on as he moves through the foster system. I am eagerly awaiting his third sequel "A Man Named Dave".

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Stunning and Gripping Read
Review: I thought this book was one of the most graphic and suspenseful that I have ever read. Mr. Pelzer's experiences are so horrific it is hard to belive that it is not a work of fiction. He tells his spellbinding story with such candor and with such riveting detail that it will keep the reader hooked for hours. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy reading of this man's amazing recovery from a traumatic and near-fatal experience.

Summary: A little dissappointed...
Review: Well, you will probably all hate me for my comments but I am just sharing how I really feel about reading this book for myself. First off, I do realize that it does take alot of courage to publish something like this so I am not downing that BUT based on this one book called an 'inspirational story' was not inspirational to me at all. Inspirational would be hearing to whole story..all 3 of his books in one. How he stuggled to find love in the foster family, finding it and growing as an adult, functioning in the world today, and finding faith in God, does he forgive his mom? That is a big part of the victory. The book just ends w/ David waiting for his final punishment. I also was shocked at the cuse words. Nothing on the cover indicating they were in there. I understand why he used them but it isnt nessary to have to print them. I want everything in my home to be safe for my children to pick up and read. They make David out now for being almost like a God for surviving what he went though. Alot of us suffered some kind of child abuse while growing up..how do we handle ourselves now? When a stranger cuses you out in pulic (ex: you took a parking spot that was not taken, so you thought, when someone was already waiting for it and they lose their complete cool with you a cuse you out and lets everyone around you know it.) What ever it may be..do you stoop to their level and rant and rave? What I am tring to say is that as long as we still can give and recieve love UNCONDTIONALLY, then we are all winners not Gods. 'But THANKS be to GOD who gives us victory though our LORD, JESUS CHRIST.' 1 Corn 15:57 <>< \O/
