Summary: Fabulous!
Review: I loved the Shopaholic series, despite my reluctance to read it.
I had this book the day it hit the shelf and read it quickly. I just couldn't put it down, it was so entertaining.

I sat in my corporate lunchroom, today, laughing so hard I was snorting, while reading it.

I think this is another great book from Sophie Kinsella, and I find myself disappointed that I'm done with it.

Summary: entertaining though typical
Review: After a disastrous meeting in Scotland for her job at Panther Cola, Emma Corrigan is on a flight back to London. A flight attendant takes pity on her bad day and upgrades her to first class, where she sits beside a handsome American man.

When the plane hits a patch of terrible turbulence and it looks like it's the end, Emma spills her guts to the American about how she ditches her work and is not sure about her lovelife with her live-in boyfriend -- only to discover that he is the owner of her company over for a rare visit to the office. And now he knows all of Emma's secrets while she knows next to nothing about him.

This imbalance of power has Emma on pins and needles during his weeks at the office, while examining her life based on the confidences she has shared. She could do better but how -- and is Jack (her boss) a part of it?

Emma is not as charming as Kinsella's Becky Bloomwood but this is still a good entertaining read.

Summary: Sophie Kinsella Does It Again!
Review: Having read Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic" series, I was very hopeful that I might find a new set of characters and scenarios which proved to be, once again, extremely endearing and humorous. Sophie Kinsella has definitely delivered! Emma Corrigan is a very fun-loving, delightful, lovable, no-nonsense kind-of British gal. I find the predictaments in which she finds herself to be hilarious, yet so believable that I found myself getting embarrassed for her! This novel truly had the power to take me away from my current surroundings and escape into a world that always seems to become more comical and complicated than what I usually predict from the typical genre.

Summary: Beloved Author Takes Us On New Adventure!
Review: I am a huge Sophie Kinsella fan - as are many of us. I mean - who hasn't read at least ONE of the "Shopaholic" books? Everyone has... so, we know Kinsella's work. Her new book "Can You Keep a Secret?" takes us on a new adventure with Emma Corrigan, you feel the same sense of fun, intelligence and spunk as you did with Becky Bloomwood.

Emma truly believes her life is right on track. She has a (fairly) enjoyable job, good boyfriend, and good friends. Everything is good. Settled. Well - an unexpected good awful flight has her in a tizzy and that's where things begin to go pear-shaped. Emma uses this opportunity to spill her guts to a very attractive stranger sitting next to her --- of course you (as the reader) know this is no random man and things are going to come back to haunt Miss Emma. The good thing is - Emma doesn't. And, that's what makes this book so much fun. It's light, fun and really fun. I loved all the work settings and the backstabbing and naughtiness of it.

Great new book from one of my favorite author... I thrilled its finally available in the States (I read it ages ago from AmazonUK). I think those who loved "Shopaholic" will be happy with this new offering.

Cheers!

Summary: A very fun read
Review: If you are looking for something light-hearted and fun to read..this is the book. You will enjoy it and end it with a smile on your face. I chuckled many times throughout!

Summary: Don't keep this book a secret
Review: I love how Emma spills her guts on the plane, can you relate?? If you like "Chick-Lit" then you will love this book. Its light and its fun. How can anyone ever say a bad word about it? My friend at work told me about it and it sounded good but I had no idea how good it would be. The things that come together in this book make it quite the adventure.

Summary: Light 'n' Easy
Review: I know a lot of people who adored her Shopaholic series, but I was not one of them. I read one, but couldn't get into it and it simply stressed me out. I picked this one up because just the sound of the plot amused me - Emma spills her guts to a stranger on an airplane, who happens to be her boss and who manages to make all kinds of entertaining comments as they meet throughout the book - and it was completely worth buying the hardcover. Emma was sweet and charming and vulnerable, and Jack was imperfect and clever and mysterious. I am not a person who laughs out loud at books, but this one cracked me up. No, this doesn't have a complex plot, nor does it require in-depth research or a great deal of thought, but if you're looking for something fun to read, this is it. It is absolutely hilarious, and it is definitely the best girly book I have read all year.

Summary: Can You Keep a Secret?
Review: I love the Shopaholic series and I was extremely excited for this book. And I wasn't disappointed. I still love the Shopaholic series, but I loved this book even more. I liked that it was more about relationships and less about financial turmoil. I felt stressed out for Becky Bloomwood. Emma is more assertive and finally gets to speak out for herself. I loved all the characters in this book and I could match them up with people in my life, so it made it that much better. Everyone knows someone who displays similiar characteristics of Artemis, Jemima and awful cousin Kerry.

Is this book fun and probably a bit unrealistic? Definitely. Is that part of the reason I love it. Absolutely. It made me chuckle. It was a great distaction from everyday life. And true to her form, Sophie Kinsella leaves us asking for more. Oh and for anyone who might be interested, I heard that they were going to turn this into a movie that is due out sometime next year with Kate Hudson as Emma. I hope it does justice to the book.

Summary: SOOOOOOO BORING!
Review: I read the entire Shopaholic series and loved it..this book didn't get off the ground until the final 10 pages. If you want a better read that's more for a mature adult, buy GREEN EGGS & HAM by Dr. Seuss..don't waste your money on this book!

Summary: The Secret Is Out ...
Review: "Can You Keep a Secret" was a VERY light and funny read. Emma Corrigan is a sweet and simple woman who has a "few" secrets that she keeps from all of the important (and not so important) people in her life. She meets a handsome American man on a plane who she rambles all of these secrets to -- without realization -- because the plane hits a little turbulence and she truly believes that he is the last person that she will ever see. When she lands safely and realizes that she still has her life, she is embarassed, but convinces herself that she will never see this man again -- WRONGO!

Unfortunalty not long after that mortifying scenario,Emma comes in contact with this man, who unfortunatly is someone very important and holds a high position for the company that she works for. Everything seems to go downhill for her after that point as she runs into comical circumstance after circumstance.

I thought that this book was hilarious, but NOT at all as witty as the Shopaholic Series.
The ending of "Can You Keep A Secret" left me a little disappointed because I felt that it was a bit rushed. I also wanted to know more about how Emma's relationship with her parents was progressing. Overall, it wasn't a waste of money and would definatly recommend it for a day at the spa or beach. Enjoy! :)
