Summary: Best Book in years!
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. The story is very clever and Artemis and Butler make a grate team. I wish people would stop comparing this to Harry Potter. Personaly, i preferred this book over HP, and i thought it was better written. The people who complain about this book are the people who got it for young children expecting the violance to be no more that Harry Potter. This is a different book than Harry Potter and I don't think people should complain about the violance when they got it for there kids. This book is best for kids 11 and up because it contains more complex words. Can't wait untill the next one!!!

Summary: Clever But Confusing
Review: A 12-year-old boy genius, Artemis Fowl is set on finding fairy gold. Holly is a good- hearted fairy who lives in the underworld. In the beginning of the book, Holly had to go and revive her magic powers on earth. While in the land of the mud people, Artemis Fowl and his bodyguard Butler kidnap Holly for a ransom of fairy gold. In order to save Holly, Foly and Commander Root (Holly's bosses) make a squad of ridiculous fairies who try to rescue Holly at Artemis's fancy household.
I recommend this book to anybody who likes Harry Potter books or for people who wanted more adventure out of those books. An action packed page turner, each section ends in a clever cliffhanger. This realistic fantasy is a magical journey. But it has lots of confusing and difficult technological terms. While the book was captivating, it had very difficult vocabulary in it, which was confusing. With its slapstick comedy and its hilarous characters, this book was a joy to read even if you don't like to read at all.

Summary: Artemis Fowl
Review: This was an exceptional work, though I still wouldn't rate it above the famous science fiction/fantasy authors of yesterday and today. It had an interesting plot, although I thought the negative referances to humans as a little offensive. However, each is entitled to his/her own opinions. Eoin Colfer has a most interesting imagination and I did enjoy all the new fairy technology (if only we could have that stuff). I also haven't read a book in a long time that could make you feel two entirely different ways about a character. Usually only movies do that for me. This book reveals the true nature of a person in the simplest ways and I would recommend that anyone reading this buy the book. I did.

Summary: ARTEMIS IS GREAT
Review: All those 'concerned parents' out there should take a back seat. This is a book, accept it. It is not 'PG-13' violence, that's what your kids see on Sesame Street. It's a good book, Artemis does not have to have any 'redeemable' qualities, does any bad guy?! Voldemort doesn't! If you are taking this away from your kids you might as well take Harry Potter too! You know what? You should even rob them of LOTR! 'You don't have to burn the books you just remove them.' Harry Potter is just as 'PG-13' as the next book. We live in a 'PG-13' world, life isn't a big 'Hugs and kisses' festival, there is death and violence! Accept it!!!!! Look at Voldemort, he forms a racist group and goes around and kills millions of people! He killed his own parents!!!!! *calm down* Ok, I just want to say that Artemis Fowl is a great book and worth anyone's time.

Summary: Definately as good as Harry Potter!
Review: This is for everyone who thinks this book shouldn't be compared to Harry Potter. It really is just as good. I don't compare it to Harry Potter for the type of characters, or even the subject. But, both books have that quality that makes you want to read it again and again. I read it four times in a row and I still love it, which is rare for me.
It has an ending like Harry Potter, too. Not the exact same endings, but It's unpredictable and you can't even guess what the ending might be. The characters are really deep too. I really think that this book is as good as Harry Potter, and the rest of my family thinks so, too.
And, if you can figure out the fairy code there's a message at the bottom of the pages.

Review: I really hated this book. I don't believe it should even receive one star. I bought this book for my children and began to read it to them. I was into it just a couple of chapters when I felt that it was completely inappropriate for them. As a mother I don't want to read to my grade schoolers or middle schoolers for that matter anything about shooting up. Which is exactly what the drunken fairy was doing. I stopped reading it to them but read through it the rest of the way myself and found that in the end I hated it more than in the beginning. We threw it away.... I cannot believe that the author felt the need to peddle such garbage to our youth. I will stick to JK Rowling, CS lewis and the like. Very disapointing.

Summary: Artemis Fowl
Review: Artemis Fowl is extremely entertaining. It is fast moving adventure at its best. It should never be compared to Harry Potter because they are completely different characters. Artemis is a 12 year old boy with the I.Q. of a genius. The book is well written and very clever. Artemis is trying to regain billionaire status for his family by trying to steal the legendary gold held by Fairies. The way he goes about it is ingenious. I recommend you read it while waiting for the 5th Harry Potter book. I also recommend "Mortal Engines" by Philip Reeve and "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde.

Summary: Artemis Fowl
Review: I gave this one star because I couldn't go any lower. This book can't be compared to any other because it is so bad. Every plot in the book has been used before to better affect. The writer seems to be well read because he stole so many things from other books. This seems to be a trend to pump out books and then compare them to Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings to get [people] to buy them. I see they are writing a sequel. Boy I couldn't have figured that out from the hints in the first. I just know I won't be fooled twice.

Review: Atemis Fowl is one of the best books I've ever read. It has a lot of cool Fairy-Facts and a this was the very first time I heard of a book. This book combindes the magic of fairys with modern technology. The fairys where funny and cool and Holly Short was one of the best. I think all 12-year-olds should read this book.
