Rating: Summary: Wonderfully imaginative! Review: Artemis Fowl is a very intelligent, but villainous, twelve-year-old who creates a devious plot to steal gold from the Fairy People. He decodes the fairy's book of magic and kidnaps another fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon unit. The fairies in this book are nothing like your traditional mild mannered faires. These fairies have attitude and aren't afraid to show it! I was very amused by all their technical gadnets that helped to create the illusion of such magical beings. Oh sure, they had their own amount of magic and rules to follow in order to keep their gifts, but this book was full of unexpected twists and turns and enough imginative inventions to intrigue even an adult reader. I look forward to reading book two!
Rating: Summary: Excellent and amazing book!!! Review: Normally, we read books in which the leading characters are pure and virginal souls, who are constantly attacked by the "bad guys". This story is nothing about this.I think that the magical and intriguing idea of this story is that the main character is a boy who is nothing but innocent or "good guy". Artemis is one of the "bad guys" and all he does is directed to make his plans work. However, the story is compelling and sends you to a non explored world of mystery and magic. No doubt it is a 5 star read!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Books of All Time! Review: Artemis Fowl is the first book in the series. It is about a rich criminal mastermind. The only unusual thing is that this mastermind in only twelve years old! This surprisingly exciting book tells of how young Artemis and his bodyguard, Butler, steal some fairy gold and get in a LOT of trouble. I would recommend this book to any fantasy fan, kids and adults alike.
Rating: Summary: A Truly Amazing Book Review: This the first book in the Artemis Fowl series. I wasn't really interested when I first saw it, but as soon as I started I couldn't put it down. Artemis Fowl is a rich criminal mastermind. The only weird thing is this mastermind is only twelve years old. Artemis Fowl is a fantastic book of how Artemis and his bodyguard Butler try stealing some fairy gold, and get in a LOT of trouble. I highly recommend it to any fantasy fan.
Rating: Summary: fun, but too violent for smaller persons Review: This is a fun, fluffy piece that gets good mileage out of tromping all over the traditional fairytale mythos (fairies, goblins, etc.). LEPRECON is an acronym for a fairy SWAT team member, for example(I'm not giving anything away here; it's on the cover!). It is fairly well written, and there is a light and easy to read quality that I think only occurs when the author is really inspired. This characteristic, unfortunately, is somewhat lacking in the rest of the series, which seems to go down hill (at least in my opinion). In this first book, I was dismayed by some horrific violence graphically described; I think it is inconsistent with the target age group. Adults may find a certain guilty pleasure reading it while thinking it is a kids book, but I have no intention of giving it to my own nephews. I know that every year kids are exposed to more violence, but this is a bit much to my tastes. And what does it get us? Kids that are not bothered by violence; I'm not sure that is a good thing for them or us. I think it is best suited to adults who want some silly, casual amusement, not kids. This book and a pint of icecream makes a nice evening off for an overworked grownup!
Rating: Summary: Fowl makes the faires growl Review: Artemis Fowl book review (...) I think this is a good book because it is about an interaction between Humans, Fairies, and trolls/dwarfs. But little kids might overreact to the parts where the troll fights the butler and at the blood when a person dies. Yes one person dies but that shouldn't stop you from reading the book. If you want to know what happens to the man who dies he is brought back to life and puts on an old knights armor and beats the living soul out of the troll who killed him. He beat the troll with a mace and a gun. There is another review of this book that he said the characters didn't seem real. He said they were cardboard. Well they were real from a lot of other peoples point of view. I thought this was a very good book and that the next books in the series would be as or more interesting. The second book was the worst so far but the third was probably the best for me. The reviewer said the author threw the book together hoping for a potter like movie deal. But I say that "Potter is a totter that doesn't drink water", by this I mean that the Harry Potter movies are not that good and that they aren't worth buying.
Rating: Summary: A VERY GOOD BOOK Review: Artemis Fowl is one of the best books that I have ever read. I think it is much better than Harry Potter beacause it has more action and a lot better detail. When I read a book, the first page has to grab me and make me want to read more and that's what this book did. I like how the fairies, goblins, trolls, etc. have evolved in their own subterranean world seperatly from the humans. If I was to suggest a book to any reader, it would be Artemis Fowl.

Rating: Summary: Extremely Exciting Review: Artemis Fowl is an excellent book to read. If you love mysteries with a twist of magic and fairies, then this is the book for you. This book is boring, but if you stick with it, it becomes very exciting. Artemis Fowl is a genius who captures a fairy called Holly and the LEP is trying to get her back. This book is excelent to read.
