Summary: Ok book
Review: First of all, I read other reviews on Artemis Fowl and I thought this might be just as good as Harry Potter. I was wrong. I could barely get past the first hundred pages. Overall, this an okay book about Artemis Fowl, a 12 year old boy who's a criminal mastermind. He captures a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit so he could earn millions.
Books I would highly recommend would be by authors, meg cabot, ann brashares, and elizabeth chandler.

Summary: one of my favoite books!
Review: This is one of my favorite books. I highly recommend this book to all readers who like action, adventure, and a good book. Dont think that this book is just another domb fairy tale that you listend to as a kid just because it has fairys in it. Theas fairys are smart, clever, mistevous and somtimes a bit crule, and the only one who can out smart them is 12 year old criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl. The only one who can stay one step ahaed of them always in a plot to take ther gold. The Artemis Fowl books are 2nd to none.

Summary: Holds attention
Review: Many of the books I have bought for my daughter were unableto her attention for long. Sometimes I had to either bribe or force her to read a book to the end. This is one I had no problem getting her to finish, and she did so in just a few days, something she had previously found boring and unimaginable. She loves the characters and the storyline. Whenever I asked where in the book she was she would tell me what each character was doing. She usually only gave me thepage number. As soon as she had finished this book she asked for the next one. So that review I should be posting soon.

Summary: very recommended
Review: I'd heard of this book before, but I didn't get around to finding and reading it until recently. The writing style has a feel to it that reminds me a little of Harry Potter, but Artemis is no Harry. Artemis is a twelve-year-old genius and criminal mastermind. He has a plan to restore his family's fortune - capture a fairy and steal its gold. That fairy ends up being Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. Humans aren't supposed to know as much about fairies as Artemis does, and this kidnapping has the potential for causing a human/fairy war. At first, I wasn't sure if Artemis was at all likeable, but, as the story progresses, I discovered that, underneath his shrewd coldness, Artemis is still a child. Artemis' bodyguard, Butler, was also interesting, and I thought Butler's little sister, Juliet, the pro-wrestling loving teenager, was pretty funny. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Summary: Excellent book; I couldn't stop reading it. Finished in 1day
Review: If you're into magic, technology, superb, evil villans, and young people that kick the snot out of older people, then Artemis Fowl is DEFINATELY for you.

Normally, it can take me a few days to finish a book this long (400 pages), but I couldn't stop reading it! I took it to the pool (where I freaked out when it got wet), into the kitchen, and even when I had to walk the dog.

The story revolves around the genius, Artemis Fowl, a twelve-year old boy with the intelect and vocabulary of an adult. Here is where I have to say that he is an astoudingly supberb character. I mean, he uses words that I know, and they aren't 'what up' or stupid slang terms of the lot. He is ALWAYS one step ahead of the game, and his bodyguard never loses faith in him *except at the end :D*.

But enough of my tangent about the debonair, suave, Artemis. The other characters in the story are also amazing. Foaly, a technologically advanced Centaur was one of my personal favorites *besides Artemis*. He shared the same enthusiasm for computers as I did, and he had a good sense of humor as well. He always had an insult or witty comeback for Commander Root, which was always a nice relief to remind me of Artemis when he wasn't on.

The only thing I wish I could change about the book is the amount of page time that Artemis gets. He isn't on nearly as much as I wish he were. He's such a sexy *forgive me* sounding character, that I belive he should appear MUCH more often! :D Eoin Colfer did a truely amazing job with this book, and I can assure myself that I WILL be reading the other two books ASAP, and I will definately read them again. :D

Summary: Great read
Review: I bought this book seeing it in the local bookstore one afternoon. I sat down and read it in an afternoon because I was intensely engrossed with the characters, story, and plot. It gives you everything you want in a book and more. Great as a kids read and also as an adults.

Summary: Sorry potter, youre gone!
Review: Whoa, when a freind reccomended this book to me about "fairies",I laughted so hard he got pretty ticked. So I bought the book, that way me and him could talk about it so hed thinked Id liked it. And i barely knew the joyride i was in.

Harry potter really is a decent series, but all the writer had was a simple idea that grew into an explosion in her mind. she really lacks depth, unlike the author of Artermis Fowl. He explains so deeply about everything. And having a 'punisher like'** character is very intresting. Artemis Fowl taight a real moral. Harry potter is such a beloved character beacause he fight of monsters and beast and pressures only in a odd way. i recently read about a girl facinated with harry potter. She was cused with Cancer. She died before the 4th book came out, but secretly JK rowling was telling her about the book she never read.

Artemis Fowl is sleek book that although youre not relizing it is teaching. at the end of artemis fowl i dont want to spoil anything but artemis shows a small ink of heart. that told me every one has a heart somwhere that lost

**Punisher is a evil criminal comic book character**

Summary: Don't let the small book and big text fool you.
Review: Some take a glance at it and lable it a pre teen novle, or kids story. It also gets that lable because it is found in the kids section of most books stores. When I read the back, it sounded interesting, and to my suprise, it was. I read the book in about 3 hours or so. I was so into it. There is a little slow part in the begging, and you may not get it a first, but once you get into it, it gets good. I am 17, and I loved it! It isn't one of those fairy stories that you hear about when you were kids, these fairys and fantistical creatures are fighting machines, and they all have jobs. The writing style is very detailed about what is going around at the time, and even graphic at times. A bloody battle with a troll that will appeal to all those people out there that can get enough of war and action movies. This book is soon to be a movie, and I suggest reading it before you see it. I don't want to give to much away, but it is a good book, and will keep you guessing till the last sentence.

Summary: Am I supposed to like Artemis?
Review: A number of people recommended that I read this and I have to wonder why. The characters of Artemis Fowl and Holly Short are completely unsympathetic, bringing the entire narrative to repeated thudding stops, with all other characters seeming to have been culled from The Authors Big Book Of Stock Characters. The descriptions of the LEProcon and everything about them are detailed to the point of pedantical.

The plot is interesting, however, and has a certain fascination that kept me reading. But I found the conclusion to be unsatisfying and quite anticlimatic. I had hoped for a lot more, and so started reading the second book in the series, The Arctic Incident. I didn't waste my time finishing it, and recommend you don't waste yours starting the first.
