Summary: The Guardian
Review: I loved this book. I am a big fan of Nicholas Sparks and thought this was a great read. It started off a little slow but once I got further into the book I really enjoyed it. I thought it was great that the dog seemed to have human qualities. Some of the story was a little predictable but still well worth it.

Summary: Great Summer Read
Review: Take this book with you to the beach or set yourself up on your deck or porch. Pour yourself some nice cold lemonade or iced tea and maybe some sugar cookies. Relax and enjoy. The Guardian is the perfect summer book. It's not too challenging with just enough romance and suspense to hold the reader's interest. I got lost in the characters and the setting. I couldn't put it down and was sorry when the end came. For me, that's the mark of a good summer read.

When I read Nights in Rodanthe, I remember thinking how nice it would be for Sparks to write a book with a happy ending. While this wasn't 100% happy, it certainly was more satisfying than some of his other endings!

So, yes, get this one and enjoy!

Summary: Awesome and Amazing!
Review: I thought this book was unbelievable! I couldn't put it down for 3 days, although my sister read it in one day. I thought this was just about one of the best books I've read and think that it would make a great movie just like many other books by Sparks. I found my self in all differnt emotions during the book, and by the end I was bawling my eyes out! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a true Sparks fan!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I don't know what those other people where talking about. Did they read the same book that I did? By chance a couple of years ago I picked up a paperback novel titled The Notebook at my local (book store). Little did I know how much I would enjoy Sparks' writing. Every single one of his books have made me cry and I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe you need to have had or be in a serious relationship filled with all the love and companionship that is possible. I identify with his writing about the feelings the characters have for each other. I am also an animal lover and love the way he made Singer a character. Sometimes your animals do the most amazing things that you never thought possible. I love this book and any other by Sparks. I buy every new book of his as soon as it comes out. If you're any kind of a romantic at all, I recommend all of his novels.

Summary: Yes, "The Guardian" was predictable, but it was still great!
Review: I know people call his novels predictable (and they are), but I don't care. I love it when I can exclaim "I knew it". It doesn't take away one iota of the enjoyment I feel when reading or listening to one of his novels. Say what you will....I love Nicholas Sparks!

Summary: Predictable!
Review: I have read all of Nicholas Sparks' other novels and used to enjoy them but this one was so elementary that I don't know know if I can read another sappy story set in a snall North Carolina town with the same predictable, albeit sad, ending. His first novels were a new voice but now it seems so overused. If you read his 2 page "acknowledgements" you know where he gets the names for all of his charaters - I know that it is nice to feature friends and family but use some creativity now and then. The book was slow, the chacters so one-dimensional - even the dog was annoying. I canceled my order for the next Nicholas Spark novel, I can't stomach another love/death story.

Summary: Wonderful, Exciting, All you expect from Sparks and more
Review: Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer. The Guardian is one of my favorite Sparks books. This one still has the wonderful love story that Nicholas Sparks' fans expect, but it has some interesting suspense and action too. The book reads very quickly, and mostly that is because you won't be able to put it down. I read on his web site that he was trying to do something new with this book (adding the suspense and action), and he was able to do that very well. I think that his true fans will love this book. It is great for the beach, for the rain, and any time at all. This book is extraordinary and it will not dissapoint. Buy this one! Don't check it out from the libary because you will want to read it again next year.

Summary: He never disappoints
Review: Nicholas Sparks writes love stories...everyone knows that, but now he has added suspense in The Guardian, and he still has a most entertaining read.

His heroine, Julie Barenson, is a young widow struggling to cope with her loss, get on with her life and make good choices. Her friend, Mike,is always there for her, but he was her late husband's best friend and Julie doesn't realize how much he cares for her. Richard Franklin arrives on the scene and in her town looking good and acting like a gentle person who has a flare for being there with the right touch at the right time. Richard is not what he seems, however, and as his true nature unfolds, the suspense builds. The story becomes a male version of Fatal Attraction, but thanks to Mr. Sparks sensititve handling of the story line, there is a happy ending.

Summary: Wonderful, I couldn't put it down!
Review: I have read all of Nicholas Sparks books. I loved this one, as well as every one he has written. I grew up in NC, spending every summer in Emerald Isle. I live far from there now, but I love how he paints the setting..I felt as if I was there! It is also wonderful to be able to read a book that is not full of profanity and filth! I enjoyed how he combined the love story and the mystery. I have to say that I cried my eyes out at the end of the book. I loved Singer, the last time I have been so sad is when I read Sounder...many years ago. Singer almost took the charater of a human. You must read it...it is a page turner!
