Summary: The Beginning of the Adventure
Review: The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis is a wonderful beginning to The Chronicles of Narnia. Two children, Digory and Polly, are given a great gift by Digory's uncle. He gives them rings which give them the power to travel to different worlds and travel home again. They travel to many different worlds and have many different adventures. I one of the worlds they find an evil queenwho follows them back home. Polly and Digory take the the queen to a different world where they meet a kion called Aslan and many different talking animals. Digory takes a silver apple back home to his dying mother. When Digory gives the apple to his mother and she is miraculously cured. Digory plants the apple core and magic rings in his backyard. You will have to read the rest of this magical adventure to find out where the magic appears next. This book is one of the most wonderful and magical books I have ever read. Lewis's imagination really keeps the books alive. It makes you feel you are sharing the adventures right along with the characters. I would recommend this book to anybody because it is so fascinating. This adventure-fantasy is for people of all ages. It makes you want to keep on reading to find out what happens to the characters. There is a lot of suspense and it is very absorbing. I love the way it leads into the next book of The Chronicles. It makes you want to read all the other books that follow.

Summary: A Great Book Called "The Magician's Nephew."
Review: The Magician's Nephew was one of the greatest books I've ever read. You see, there are certain books that I will read, only ones I like. I liked The Magician's Nephew, by: C.S. Lewis and thought is was real cool. I liked the way Lewis describes the detail of the character's surroundings and made you feel like you were actually there. If you want to find out how Narnia was created, you must read this book. I read most of the book in three hours. There are great pictures of almost all the creatures mentioned in the book. Overall if you are looking for a great book to read, The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis.

Summary: Read this book!
Review: The book "The Magician's Nephew" is a fantastic book. Digory and Polly go through the different worlds and wake up the Witch accidently. And Narnia starts all because of the lion, Aslan. But disasters are coming to them. Read this book and the series to find out what happens. If you want a book full of adventure and fantasy this book (and series) is great to read! Hope you enjoy.

Summary: Perfect
Review: I could enumerate the many high points of all of C.S. Lewis'swriting, but why? The other reviewers have done so. I would, however, like to point out: THIS IS NOT BOOK ONE! Some silly publisher got the idea that publishing the Chronicles of Narnia in chronological order would somehow help readers. Wrong! This story has a hundred times more meaning if you read it as book six, where it's supposed to be. The others are okay in the new order ("The Horse and His Boy" was originally book five, but you can read it anywhere after "Lion" and still be okay), but you take away a lot of the special-ness of finding out how everything fits together if you read this first. Once again, THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW IS BOOK 6! DO NOT READ IT FIRST! Now I've made my point. Thank you for tolerating the capital letters. :-)

Summary: Enthralls the mind in other-worldly wonder
Review: This book opens up new worlds, quite literally, in such a way as has never been done. It holds particular revelatory significance if read in the original order (as the sixth book); it leads unimaginably beautifully into The Last Battle. Since my reading it ten years ago, it has changed my very thinking. No one reading it may walk away the same person.

Summary: C.S. Lewis is an extraordinary writer.
Review: The Chronicles of Narnia are wonderful books for children of all ages. It is a wonderful set of fantasy books in the secular world and a beautiful Christian metaphor in the religious realm. I would highly recommend any of these books. The Magician's Nephew is the first of the series Chronologically, but the second book published. It is a good beginning for first time readers to the series.

Summary: This Book is an easy-reading wonder
Review: Even though I read the 'Magician's Nephew' as the last book in the series, I actually think I got more out of it that way, then if I read it in the order your supposed to. It put everything into the right place, and made it all make sense. I admire C.S. Lewis and have loved his books since the beginning of time. I suggest you get this book, and let yourself be pulled back into the magical land of Narnia with the two children that had started it all.
