Summary: so-so follow up to spellbinding pandora
Review: Pandora was great. wonderful atmosphere, deepe writing. This book doesn't really do it for me. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but is really crushed by my expectations.

Summary: Mesmorizing
Review: Anne Rice's new book Vittorio the Vampire is absolutely mesmorizing. I enjoyed it from start to finish. From the vivid detail of Filipo Lippo's paintings to the passion of Vittorio's and Ursula's romance, this book was absolutely fantastic. Anne Rice is certainly at the top of my reading list.

Summary: An excellent and easy read.
Review: Vittorio is a neatly zipped story - maybe a novelette by Witching Hour standards; you can finish it in a few days if you have little else to do. Anne Rice is famous for those huge and luscious sagas of the Vampires and the Witches, yet this one is not like them. Fans of her old style may become dissatisfied with Vittorio because it departs from the familiar. But don't let that stop you (or you, Mrs. Rice). This is a worthwhile book to say the least, glowing with the beauty of God's angels and flowing with fresh blood as usual. The chapters about the sons of God from Fra Filippo's paintings are quite inspiring and moving. There is strong morality and spirituality here. Who cannot identify with Vittorio as he is caught up between love and desire, honor and faith? Although I was disappointed by his choice in the end (why I don't give it 5 stars), I was not disappointed with the book. Neither will you.

Summary: AWESOME BOOK
Review: AWESOME is the best word to describe the book. This is the first Anne Rice book I've read and certainly not my last. Descriptions are vivid enough to make your imagination go wild without throwing you off track. I hadn't read a book this good in quite a while. Vittorio is a perfect example of a teen during his time, I can say this using previous research made before reading the book, this shows it is a well researched book. Once I picked it up I could let it go. I've always felt an atraction to reading about vampires and I think I just found the author to satisfy my craving. KUDOS TO ANNE RICE!

Summary: Missionary Rice
Review: Whatever happened to Anne Rice? Is she suffering from religious delusions? Still being a fan of her first 3 vampire novels but increasingly disappointed by her last books I had some hope left for her newest offering. The Ricean catholicism (as featured in Bodythief, Memnoch and Armand) it seems, won't go away and is here to stay. Religious images lurk everywhere and smothered the story for me completely. Humor, usually not abundant in Rice's novels but at least glimpsed when Lestat was around, is missing entirely. The description of early Renaissance Florence is nicely done but nowhere near as vivid as New Orleans or Venice. I'm afraid I'll still read her next vampire book but more out of habit than anything else. A bit more irony and less religious zeal would help to change that ...

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: This is not a great book book it is Ok. Although nothing really happens and there is no unexpected turns or anything really exciting.Ann Rice is a good writer but she has obviously run out of ideas.

Summary: Simply too short, as always.
Review: I had seen "Interview with a Vampire" in the cinemasand having loved it, read "The Vampire Lestat" and "TheQueen of the Damned". Afterwards I ordered the rest of thechronicals and started reading one after the other. When I started to read Vittorio, I knew it would be the last of the magnificant chronicals till ... "The Vampire Armand 2" is going to be published. So I tried to read it slowly and enjoy every breath of it.But, "as always" I was soon through it...But this time I can't simply start to read the next tale of my beloved Vampires... :(

I felt familiar with Vittorio the moment I read his introduction to his "autobiography". Though he is in no way as extravagant as Lestat or feminine as Louis,Vittorio is one of the most human vampires of Anne Rice. I'm sure there will be a second book about Vittorio, because having finished it, I felt there was so much more I'd like to know about him. I hope Anne won't dissappoint me. :)

Summary: a new vampire!
Review: i didn't think i would enjoy a new vampire. after all, louis and lestat are the best! but you'll love vittorio as i did. he's intelligent, caring, and ofcourse, more human than we are...that's the anne rice signature! read this book if you haven't. find out his past, present, and fate of the future. susan

Summary: A welcome change
Review: I appreciated the way that Rice takes us away from the same old group of vampires and gives us another one. Vittorio was a fresh, vibrating character and his romance with Ursula was a pleasant change from all the dramatic tragedy that tends to get overplayed.
