Summary: Wonderful!!!
Review: I tried to rate this book as an 11, but they wouldn't let me. I have read all of the books in this series that I can get my hands on. The books are written in such detail, it makes you feel like you are really there. I would love to taste a hot pastie, see the Joseph bell, and observe the giant fish in the Abbey pond. I would recommend all of Jacues books to everyone who enjoys reading, and those who don;t, as well.

Summary: Best book for getting young boys to read!
Review: As a mother of five, I have discovered the Redwall series to be the very best way to get young boys to begin reading for pleasure. These are books that they re-read over and over waiting for the next one to be published. I would definitely recommend them to all young readers from age 9 to 15.

Review: Terrible. The plot is just one long cliche. The peaceful "good guys" are attacked by the evil "bad guys" and rise up to defeat them. Big surprise. The characters are entirely one-dimensional. The "good guys" do no harm to anyone, and the "bad guys" are completely bloodthirsty. Jaques could at least have had a tirant for the leader of the "good guys" to add some diversity to the storyline. The only plus side to this book was the rich descriptions and myriad adjectives. Still... my dog could have done better than that!

Summary: Extremely violent for a children's book.
Review: By far the most violent children's book I've ever seen. In the course of this book, several animals are eaten by a snake, dozens are burned to death, more are boiled to death, several fall from great heights to their death, some are crushed under giant weights, others are stabbed, shot with arrows, or thrown into a tree. The violence is not restricted to the "bad" animals, as some of the most likeable protaganists suffer brutal and painful deaths. In short, it is inappropriate at best for many younger children.

Summary: An amazing and touching novel, placed next to Watership Down
Review: I read the first page of this book, and could not stop. Since then, I read every other Redwall book in about a month, and bought all of them that I could get my hands on. Now the only one I have to buy is The Long Patrol, as I am waiting for it to come out on paperback. After reading through them all once, I am going back and reading them all again. And I'm absolutely (or as the hares like to say "absoballylutely") going to go back and read them yet another time. I am only 12, but these are books that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. I am amazed and disgusted at those reviews that are by people who do not praise and welcome this book into the house. This book should be on everyone's coffee table, and in everyone's hand. I take one of them with me everywhere I go. Now in molespeak, "burr, hurr, boi okey, it's gurt toime that oi should be's a'goin."

Summary: A true classic that will be around for centuries
Review: This is the best single book that I have ever read. THE BEST. Read it. I picked Redwall up in my local library because it was thick. After reading the cover, I thought that it looked interesting, so I checked it out. For the rest of the day, I was engrossed in the book, living through an experience that I doubt I will ever go through again. Redwall has the goodguys winning through, and unlike many books out today, the mice in the abbey are not semi-good. Their "goodness" is not questioned. Cluny is a perfect warlord. His horde feels like an army that is going out to conquer the countryside. The descriptions in this book are amazing. Page after page is filled with them (Jacques wrote this book for the children of a blind hospital, and he wanted to be able to describe everything). The whole book has the feel of a classic. Although this book is only $6 or so, it is a priceless gem. Buy it, keep it, love it, and hope Brian Jacques keeps writing.

Review: Wow! What a book! My favorite book of all time! A sweet touching gruesome story. And when I say gruesome I mean as in fighting and battling. I encourage everyone out to there to read it. You won't regret it.

Summary: Redwall
Review: This was the first Redwall book I read. It was very good, and Jacques depicts his characters very well, adding each one it's own personality. My favorite character's Basil Stag Hare, and I laughed several times over his crazy, stupid antics. Brian's other Redwall books are spectacular too, some even better than this one!
