Rating: Summary: A Grabber Review: The outline of this story is a bit different then the way Ms. Steel usually writes, but I found the book interesting, and definitely a grabber. I found myself getting totally lost in the pages as I read, silently shocked at the torture our young star, Gabriella took throughout her entire lifetime. It seemed like everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. The book had a pleasant ending, although, I wish that the intensity of the past could have been eased a bit.
Rating: Summary: My FIRST of Many Danielle Steel Books Review: The Long Road Home was the 1st Danielle Steel book I had ever read...and I LOVED it. It sent me on an emotional roller coaster. One moment I was Angry, then Sad, then Happy...throughout the book, I was up and down. I never knew what was going to happen next. Because I enjoyed the book so much, I have begun reading ALL of her books, starting with her very 1st. To anyone who has never read a Danielle Steel book...The Long Road Home comes HIGHLY recommended. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: DIDN'T READ YET Review: I used to enjoy reading any of Steele's books, but lately, i've been getting agitated with the re- dundancy of her characters. The best book ever was "No Greater Love". Does anybody agree with me?vondelevondele@netscape.net
Rating: Summary: A story about a young girl trying to survive Review: I thought this was a very good and heartbreaking story. it was well written and made you want to reach out and help the poor girl who was the main character. She was abused for years by her mother and her father did nothing to help her. She finally escaped and this book is about her trying to live a normal life. I think anyone with a big heart would enjoy this story. But it is not for children or someone with a weak heart.
Rating: Summary: A gut-wrenching book Review: I loved this book. It was so sad the life that Gabby lived. I cried and cried when she left the convent. A wonderful read and I think Danielle Steels' best so far!
Rating: Summary: The best of Danielle Steel by far! Review: I highly recommend reading this book. The plot was constantly turning which kept me very interested. It's also a real tear jerker, the woman in the book has suffered an unbelieveably terrible childhood. This is one that I will want to read over and over!
Rating: Summary: The Long Road Home Review: The Long Road Home, was an outstanding book to read. I didn't understand how the parents of this little girl could not love her. It showed me that not all people are made out to be parents. I thought the little girl was a strong person for putting up with her parents. When she was sent to live at the church with the nuns,it was good for her to get out of the situation she was in. She was still very quite and was into writing her novels. I thought what she did when she got pregnant by the priest, was an excuise for somebody to love her. When she had lost the baby, she found hope in finding her parents. She found out her mother had died and her father was living only a block away.I think this book is a great book for almost everyone to read.
Rating: Summary: This is one of my favorite books... Review: I am not a really big fan of Danielle Steel, but I have read some of her books [Daddy, The Promise,The Gift] and I thought this one was the best. Gabriella was such a hero in the book, even though her mother was so unusually mean to her and didn't love her. She had a very hard life and lost a lot, but she made it through. I think this book will give her readers courage to face the struggles in life.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: This book made me cry for all the children that have lived a life such as Gabriella's. The beatings and how they scar the person not only physcally but mentally as well. Danielle Steel never disapoints me, but this book really hit home to me.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK Review: This was one of the best Steele books I have read in a while. I was interested from cover to cover and it did indeed touch my heart. ! If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.
