Summary: A very disturbing book.
Review: From the beginning to the end it was not an enjoyable read. I could not recommend it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An incest survivor's heroine.
Review: This was difficult and painful reading for me. I am an incestsurvivor. I am so deeply moved by how Dannielle Steel resolved thestory. It helped that answer sink deeper into my soul. I'll be sharing with other survivors that, tho it's very difficult reading, it is well worth it. I know my story, and those of fellow survivors. We recognize ourselves in the character of Gabriella - a heroine we can absorb into our being.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I read this book in two days. Could not put it down. But just like the rest, she always does well. Loved this book because of the child abuse story line she went with. I hope it opens eyes to that very real fact.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was a wonderful book
Review: I have read all of Danielle Steels books and this was one I could not put down. She tells the story of child abuse well and how people do overcome and become strong. Bravo!!! Can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Her Best Ever!!!!!
Review: I found this book to be her best book written, I cried from the beginning of the book to the end, and wound up reading it in one night, I was unable to put it down. Her last few books havent been as good as past books, glad she is back on the right track!! I still wished she wouldve come face to face with her mom.....wouldve been interesting!

Summary: Couldn't put it down!!
Review: A very touching story that opened my eyes about the horrors of child-abuse. I think I cried through the first half of the book! Ms Steel has done a wonderful job telling us Gabrielle's story, and I must say, this is one of her best ever!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A page turner as usual
Review: I found this book to be one of Steel's best. Maybe it was because of the subject matter. Maybe it was because this book wasn't as predictable as so many of her books are. She grabbed me right from the beginning to the end. I think these characters were more real. Perhaps Steel's own recent tragedy in her life helped her to write a more real story. I recommend this quick read highly.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Slightly less formulaic due to unusual storyline
Review: This is a MUCH darker and more graphic outing for Steel, and more risque because of some of her subject matter. However, I think her antagonists do not meet the fate that they could or should have. The writing is superior to THE RANCH or more recent publications-less repetitive in the narrative descriptions. It was more compelling than the usual Danielle Steel fare-pretty woman, distressed situation, white knight eventually swoops down and aids her. While the pretty woman exists here too, the setting is unique and it takes the white knight a much longer time to ride her off into the sunset. However, I kept wishing for stronger consequences for the parents in the story, meted out by the heroine, Gabriella, or at least some intervention by those she encounters.

Summary: A book to touch the heart.
Review: The best word to describe this book is that it was thoroughly "addictive". I just found myself struggling when I had to put my book down and anticipating my next free time so I could continue the other pages of the book. Before I knew it I had finished the whole book too fast. The author ingeniously created a character so inspiring in a young girl named Gabriella. There's something about reading about the trauma of the young child, tales of her horrific abuse will haunt every adult reading this book. This is a book that makes us ponder about the lives of other young children such as Gabriella, whose life has been scared by inhumane parents and the people who look and knows what is going on but decides to just look by the fences and not get their hands dirty. It is as if the book is screaming , "The people who choose to ignore what they see are equally as guilty , They are just as the cruel and sadistic parents!" Two thumbs up for such an emotionally charged story. A story that touches the core of our own humanity, and challenges us to reach out to the wounded. One of the best books Danielle Steel has written so far.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great book...blah ending
Review: This book was a definate page turner, I had a very hard time putting it down. This could have turned out to be so much more though. I would have love to have seen Gabrielle make it on her own utlizing her talents and degree from Columbia. I had to roll my eyes when she came into money and met the handsome young doctor. Kind of underminded the whole triumph over tragedy plot.
