Rating: Summary: Among his best!! Review: The Runaway Jury is maybe a little bit boring the three or four first chapters, but when you really get into the plot and get to know the caracters, you will not be able to put it down. The way Nicolas make the jury turn may be a bit far fetched, but who cares. I don't read Grisham's novels to get something to think about. Then you should read Shakespeare or something. When you read Grisham you should expect entertainment and that is what you really get in The Runaway Jury. I enjoyed this book immensely.
Rating: Summary: Difficult to put down once you've started Review: The Runaway Jury in my opinion is a great book. I don't read much and usually hate it but this book was really interesting. There was always a new twist or something interesting taking place. The characters seemed like real everyday people.
Rating: Summary: The most boring book Grisham has ever written Review: What was John Grisham thinking when he wrote this book? I expect so much from his books. I have devoured every single book of his that I've read and *then* gone and seen the movie. Not on this one. I was so utterly disappointed. I don't understand why he wrote it and why it was so dull that I could never *get* past Chapter Three. Part of the problem for me was the intricate detail. I did *not* need to know every little detail of every characters life. I kept waiting for the book to pick up but after 70 someodd pages, I gave up and quit. And I do not quit very often. This is the *only* book of his that I have not finished. I hope he doesn't write another one like this.
Rating: Summary: READ THIS BOOK!! Review: This book was awesome! It was REAL hard to put down. I don't usually read this kind of book, but this was really great! You really get to know the characters. A must-read.
Rating: Summary: good Review: The book is one of those that gets right to the action. I would highly recomend this book to anyone eho finds intrests in trials of any sort. Don't start this book unless you want to stay up all night. A must read for any Grisham fan and for anyone whose not. The story takes place in Biloxi, Mississippi where a major tobbacco trial is about to unfold. Little do the lawyers on either side or the judge or even the over priced jury consultants know that this is no ordinary jury
Rating: Summary: Best Book Yet, Don't start it at night or don't plan to rest Review: An excellent book, as all of John Grisham's are. Anybody who likes to read would enjoy this book it is excellently written and the suspense is great. I would recommend this book to anyone capable of reading it.
Rating: Summary: One of John Grisham's best Review: I enjoyed this book immensly. It was full of suspense and suprise. He [Grisham] twisted the plot in a incredible, suprising way. The way the Tobacco trials got what they deserved when trying to buy the verdict. Excellent. I look forward to reading the newest book, The Street Lawyer.
Rating: Summary: Blech!! Review: This is not one of Grisham's best. The story was long in the tooth and did not really go anywhere. I found it hard to stay focused on the plot and could not relate to any of the major characters. In short...P. U.!
Rating: Summary: A story with a twist in the end. Review: A marvellous story about a tabacco trial in the USA.I started the book when I was in America, last summer, and then spent every free minute on it.It is a story which keeps you going. Its hard to put your book away in the evenings.I recommand it to every one who wants to read a modern Agatha Christie like story. And there are some really interesting things in it for people who want to study law,who smoke, who have to go in a jury, for short everybody!!!! LOTS OF FUN READING IT!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of his best Review: This book was awesome. Filled with edge-of-your-seat excitement, Grisham delivers once again. In a legal system where the big tobacco companies seem to have their way, it's good to see Grisham create characters that will attack these giants head on. Grisham does a great job of presenting both sides in what has become a fierce debate between tobacco companies and the consumers. Overall, just a great book.
