Summary: Greatest text of 19th century?
Review: Possibly. Chalkful of vivid images, philosophy, language, and satire, Carroll makes one want to give up hopes of writing anything that might be labeled "literature." Highly recommended. The pictures are pretty as well :)

Review: THE ULTIMATE FAIRYTAIL. ALIICE FINDS HERSELF IN A FAR AWAY LAND WITH MANY TRIBULATIONS TO OVERCOME BEFORE SHE CAN MAKE IT HOME."I GUESS YOU SHOULDN'T EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE A LABLE",NO ALL KIDDING ASIDE LEWIS CARROLL PROVES TO EVERYONE THAT EVERYBODY IN LIFE HAS TRIDULATIONS TO OVER COME AND THAT THINGS ALWAYS GET BETTER IN THE END.I DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GO ON A REAL FREAKY ADVENTURE.HONESTLY I COULDN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN AND I'M NOT A READER. THIS STORY WAS VERY CAPTIVATING AND EASY TO READ,UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW.I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS STORY AND NOW I DO EVEN MORE THAT BEFORE.HOWERVER, THE ENDING WAS QUITE DIFFERENT THEN I REMEMBER. ONE SHOULD REALLY SET SOME TIME A SIDE AND READ IT.

Summary: I did not enjoy Alice in Wonderland
Review: Ok, so everyone says that Alice in Wonderland was such a wonderful book, yes,yes, I am aware. But, I thought it was very confusing and all the characters were very stupid. I mean, it's not even a book about anything. Sure, it's trying to say that shes is growing up in the process of the dumb dream world but who cares?It was a bad way to write a story, or better yet it was a bad story to write about in the 1st place.

Review: This is a complex book disguised as a childrens book. It's much more complicated than that. It looks inside dreams. It's all just a big trip. And everyone knows about the Caterpillar with his hookah...... Good but easy read.

Summary: For kids? Whatever. A fantastic, influential trip.
Review: Let me put it this way: I have yet to meet someone who does NOT like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Some people have less affection for it than others, but it engages everyone, kids and adults alike.While Carroll's work appears at first to be an eccentric and unfocused work of children's literature, closer study reveals a much more elaborate text, which is variously a satire on language, a political allegory, an attack on the flawed English educational standards of the time, a parody of children's literature, and much, much more. As Alice ventures into the world behind her mirror -- Wonderland -- she encounters some of the most remarkable figures in literary history: the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and the Queen of Hearts, to name a few. (I have no proof of this, but I would bet that these characters continue to rank among the most popular and memorable of all time.) But while the story is thoroughly enjoyable, I find the writing style even more significant. Alice is delivered in such a simple, honest, stream-of-consciousness manner that it does indeed work as children's literature. The absolute freedom with which Carroll lets his events twist and turn has been beneficial to me, particularly in my creative and personal writing, teaching me how to loosen up when attempting stream-of-consciousness, and how to let my writing go where it will. In terms of pure writing style, I think Carroll ranks among the most influential and invigorating of the authors I've read. And, as a postscript, the original illustrations by John Tenniell are fantastic, and rank among my favorite illustrations ever. I cannot recommend this one too highly.

Summary: The best movie ever made!
Review: When i was about 3 my mom taped this movie for me and i have not been able to find it anywhere. But now 12 years later i found the film here and purchase it. The movie hass to be the best movie made. It very cool. Get it while it still is for sale!

Summary: Splendid and delightful.
Review: This is a very different children's tale. One that both adultsand children will equally like. It's filled with humor, poetry (if I'mnot mistaking this book with Through the Looking-Glass), and logical statements made by the characters that will really make you think. Some of the things they say - like the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter - will make you laugh. Carroll was truly a master in combining logic with humor. From any angle that you look at this book, you will find it enjoyable. No book, I think, has ever been so shrewd and witty. No E. B. White or Dr. Seuss book can be compared to the two stories of Alice and all her eccentric yet lovable friends.

Review: It was fun to read this book because so much of what is in here is now in our popular culture today. The movie "The Matrix" made a ton of references to Alice in Wonderland. I enjoyed all of Carrol's plays on words and grammatical structure.

Review: I, like almost every other kid I know, grew up with the Disney movie. Although a rather accurate depiction of Wonderland, it cannot compare to the book (plus it muddled things together, mixing Alice in Wonderland with things originally in Through the Looking Glass). I never really took much attention to this very strange movie, but one day decided to read the book. Enter Wonderland. Absolutely no plot, no direction, no point. Lot's of silly nonsense but in spite of, or maybe because of this, it is very enjoyable. You literally never know what's going to happen next. After reading this book, I realized just how much my own dreams... Unforgettable characters, who can ever forget the cheshire cat or the caterpillar, jokes, interesting supplementary drawings, and puns keep you on your toes. This is really not for kiddies. Sure they can read it and maybe even enjoy it, but cannot fully appreciate it. A masterpiece, a classic, but more importantly, an enjoyable experience. Don't forget to read Through the Looking Glass! Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, the Walrus and the Carpenter, and "Jabberwocky" don't pop up in Alice in Wonderland but Through the Looking Glass. Although "Jabberwocky" didn't appear in the movie, it's still a classic. Finally, an explanation of this ever-puzzling poem! And of course, "I am the Walrus" is one of my favorite all-time songs... One of those books that you can read over and over again and find something new each time. Definitely an essential. The most fun I have ever had with a book. If you've ever been cursed enough to watch the movie but never read the book, PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! (and for those of you who have read it, READ IT AGAIN! )

Summary: Alice in Wonderland 1985 Live Action Movie
Review: I have to say, I am not a big fan of movie remakes. However, this movie is exceptional! As a child, I saw the animated Disney version of "Alice in Wonderland", and fell in love with Disney films. Then in 1985, television announced they not only were going to remake this classic film, but convert it to LIVE ACTION! This was unheard of at the time. You don't take a animated classic like Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" and convert it to live action. Aside from minor changes this movie is exceptional. The cast outstanding. Natalie Gregory does a great job in the title role as "Alice." I have found usually you lose something in the story when it is remade. Not to mention, television took a chance when they converted "Alice in Wonderland" from animation to LIVE ACTION. However I believe in this case, with live action you gain something. This is a movie where the remake works for you. I have to say, I enjoy the remake more than the original film. A must have! A classic in its own right!
