Summary: #1 book
Review: Well, I guess Bush's high rating was propaganda after all. I knew it was. Keep buying this book and show your support for the American way of life - civil liberties and the Constitution.
Go Mike!

Summary: Yea!
Review: After all the problems with getting this book released i'm pleased to have it on my bookshelf. A refreshing opinon on our current state of affairs. Michael Moore never disappoints.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: They can dish it out, but they can't fake it.
Review: Moore's short work can easily be read in a single evening, and yet in that time you'll expose yourself to more laughs and insights than in a week of anything you could watch on TV.

No wonder the book is zooming in sales (No. 2 on Amazon as I write this), which is odd when you look at the number of negative reviews here online from apparently REALLY fast readers like the person whose entire "review" consists of four sentences and who basically calls Moore a commie. Hmmm.

And that's the point: That Moore's comical insights actually appear to resonate with so many Americans willing to shell out for his work has some among us willing to engage in a Bush-like disinformation campaign to discredit it. Heck, the book even nearly was shredded by its publisher, according to Moore.

Good thing it wasn't, because this latest work from the "Roger and Me" documentarian is simply hilarious. Moore's wit and positively Twain-like bent for satire belie the notions of Mr. Limbaugh that lefties aren't funny. More important, Moore salts his jokes with much serious and factual (even footnoted!) information. One chapter consists of short biographical sketches of the "stupid white men" who basically run the Bush administration. These sketches would be amusing but for the fact that the backgrounds of these White House brain-trust members are rather disturbing and even scary.

Unlike ex-journalist Bernard Goldberg's "the press are liberal" screed that currently competes for top sales honors, non-journalist Moore provides citations to back his claims. Indeed, Moore's book demonstrates the folly of Goldberg's book, time and again describing presidential foibles that the supposedly liberal press have largely ignored. Whereas as Goldberg's book is essentially about his own alienation, Moore's is about the alienation _of_ a nation.

Moore-over (so to speak!), the man from Flint appears to speak for a substantial proportion of the nation, including (to a significant degree) the raw majority who didn't vote for George W. Bush.

Actually read this book before attempting to review it, and you might learn something.

Summary: Oh, Please...
Review: This book is everything you'd expect from Michael Moore -- a scathing observation of the class system and problems that are both going on in America today, and largely ignored by other people. Don't be put off by these negative reviews. These people haven't read the book and have been urged here by Right Wing websites to try and bring down the well-deserved #1 ranking on Amazon.com. The Republicans are PISSED OFF that a left-leaning book is #1 on the New York Times list. Do yourself a favor. Get smart and read this book.

Summary: Judge for Yourself
Review: I wasn't thrilled with Moore's last book, "Adventures in a TV Nation," mainly because it covered material already examined in his show. But "Stupid White Men" is fantastic. You will find intelligent discussion of the current state of affairs in this country, supported by facts and statistics. Yes, Moore leans far to the left of, well, just about everyone. And he makes no apologies for it, nor any secret of it. Any intelligent reader should be able to take that into consideration when reading the book. His arguments are, however, very persuasive. Moore's writing encourages the reader to think, not simply to accept what is spoon-fed by major media outlets and pundits.

Summary: Stupid White Men
Review: Michael Moore cuts through the B.S. with a razor in this sometimes sad, sometimes hysterical, always thought provoking opion from the 'other side'.(You know, the side that rarely gets any media attention) It will inspire you, enlighten you, and hopefully, get you off your duffs- and onto our movement. God bless Michael Moore for being the conscience of America!!!! And God Bless America!!

Summary: Right on!
Review: Michael Moore showed his brillance with Roger and Me. This is his best work since then. No one else has so eloquently spoken for the common man and woman.

Summary: The Truth Will Set You Free!
Review: An incredible read... thank you Michael Moore... this is the best, most complete review of how this country has been duped by all those 'stupid white men' I've read. I've bought 3 copies to give to family and friends ... perhaps we can raise the consciousness of this country full of sheep after all! AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ if you care about your freedom, your civil liberties, and your country.

Summary: What every American needs to know--even elephants!!
Review: What makes this book an excellent expose of the American culture as we DON'T know it, is because is isn't written by a staunch Republican OR Democrat. Michael Moore is a man who deserves his OWN party, The Moores. We want "moore" from our politicians, and we expect "moore" from the people in charge of our country.

Don't go into reading this as, "just another lefty trying to bring down the righties." Mr. Moore just wants to make it known to all of us that there are a lot of bad, scheming people out there who are trying to run our lives for us -- Republicans and Democrats alike.

If anything, read this for the information. You may dismiss it with a closed mind, if you so desire. But if you insist on remaining so naive as to think corruption doesn't rule the world, then it won't matter if you read this book or not. Your stubborness makes you blind.
