Summary: Angry Michigan Author.
Review: I was really surprised by this book. I expected an updated Downsize This! But Moore went for more of the straight ahead approach. He is more bitter and angered about what happened and opens himself up more in this book. A great read if you're a fan of his or not. But if you're looking for another Downsize This! read a couple of pages before purchase.

Summary: The truth hurts, doesnt it??
Review: This incredible book tears open the blinds on a wide range of injustices flourishing today in America. Extremely well written, Michael Moore takes relatively dry material and turns into a humourous adventure.

Left wing Capitalists need not apply.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Insult to anyone who reads.
Review: I recieved this book as a gift. I would not pruchase it. It was slow, scattered and with little substance. The author spent too much time on rumor and should have checked his facts as I found it to be mostly a rant for shock value to attract buyers. A sad way to sell ideas or books.

Summary: Al Franken he's not
Review: Even as a liberal who likes to trash Republicans for their open greed and disdain of the common man (when they're so more than common) I didn't think this book had much to offer. As a humorist, Micheal isn't that funny (certainly not an Al Franken) and as a political satirist, I would have liked more political fact than fiction. This book really seems to be about Michael Moore and does an adequate job of ripping up those who deserve it but it could have been so much better.

Summary: Funny and Thought Provoking!!!
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. MM uses plain language and humor to get right to the point. This books allows the reader to analyze our government, recent justice decisions and to take a real stand on the issues we deem important! Thumbs up to MM and I look forward to reading another of his books! Would definately recommend, but not if you're a REPUBLICAN (HA, HA)!!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: From a Leftist-Righest perspective......
Review: A reader who has always loved Michael Moore, yet has always voted Republican (up until present day), and is referred to as a socialist by many of his dearest friends (sometimes even his mother!). (Somewhat socially conservative, yet economically far to the left as compared to most today.) I have read this book and enjoyed it a great deal, as I have enjoyed everything that Moore has done. I agree with Moore on much and disagree with him on some as well, but have always apprechiated Moores direct pursuit to exposure of wrongs that the nation would prefer to pretend are non existant, or do not know exist. This book is a furthering of his pursuit.

Summary: Humor, bearing the jagged teeth of reality.
Review: An entertaining, if not somewhat brash, presentation of many of issues frequently addressed by left-centric individuals, provided an immersive read which frequently left me laughing out loud.
In this book, Moore makes many no holds barred stabs at our administration and society in a manner that made me chuckle, though affirmed many thoughts I had never verbalized. Moore's direct questioning of "President" G. W. Bush was both riotous and shockingly blunt about issues of his competence as a leader.
This book really doesn't cover any new ground, but the presentation is impeccably sardonic, simplistic enough to be understood by products of the US Public Education system, and presents a viewpoint that is far outside the scope of mainstream publications.
I would challenge even the most staunch Republican henchmen to keep a straight face while reading Moore's commentary...

Summary: Mikey's back
Review: Like a warrior returning from the Crusades, Michael Moore has come back.....this time with cannons blasting all around! Hey, is this guy something else or what?? He makes Carville and Tucker look like the Bobsey twins.

Michael takes on just about everyone in power. If you think that "Dubya" is in WAY over his head (as I do) this book is for you. And he's entertaining on top of it. Michael Moore is at his best when he goes after D.C. folk who don't look after our country's "infrastructure"....i.e. education, to name just one. And he's dead on when he attacks the national Democrats....wimps, all of them. I mean, can't one of them stand up to the idiot-in-chief?

Problem is this book is all ammo. Moore, marginalized, is great in the short-term and lousy with answers. Oh sure, he gives you names, e-mail addresses, etc. of people in power to contact to register your protest, but his pie-in-the-sky stuff is exactly meant for the people who are vulnerable....young voters. By the way, they don't vote much after all. Hey, Mikey.....your bit about Ralph Nader was pretty pathetic.....got news for you...RALPH NADER GAVE US GEORGE BUSH. And that Green Party ain't goin' nowhere but down. Forget the Supreme Court, butterfly ballots and minor party candidates. Your defense of Ralphie looked defensive and squeamish.

All of that said, I'd encourage you to buy this book. Michael Moore makes you think. And he's right lots of the time. I just wish he didn't come across like a left-wing Bill O'Reilly. Both are like professional wrestling referees....pointing out the bad things but rather helpless in setting things straight. Heck, Mike, you're not as smarmy as O'Reilly.

Summary: Funny book..........but a bit far-fetched
Review: OK, first of all, I loved Moore's 'Roger and Me', and like Moore's sense of humor. However, he doesn't hold much back here and the result is a full showing of his true colors.

If you want to read a real downer, here it is. The economy is in trouble, our environment is sickly, our energy crises has never been worse, public relations are in shambles, and unless we get Bush out of the office we are in a hopeless situation. If a person wasn't firmly grounded in reality one would think it's the end of the world! Everything you thought was OK -- he trashes.

Moore's writing style, humor, and critiques are more in line with WWF showmanship than real arguments. As a result, he offers a paltry, but entertaining read. However, if you're looking for something a bit more weighty and serious, look elsewhere.

Moore is serious about ousting Bush. On what grounds? Well, not much outside of the fact that Moore doesn't care for Bush's moderate policies. Moore is a fringe liberal who can't stand the idea of free-markets, capitalism, and competition -- and he would tell you that. (and does in this book)

He rants on about how America is no longer able to hold free and fair elections. Who is he kidding? We need the U.N. to step in and help us? With sentiments like this, who can take him seriously? (I mean apart from a serious and good comedian.)

Moore's book flies directly in the face of the majority of Americans, and slaps along the way. He pounds Bush - mercilessly - all while Bush enjoys a 70% approval rating. Just when all the mud thrown during the elections has settled, here's Moore throwing his own dirt. It's funny enough, but chapter after chapter gets a bit tiresome.

One thing Moore gets right is that Americans are upset about the situation in America. What he doesn't get right is the source of their frustration. He makes it sound like Americans are mad at being able to live in a free country and a land of opportunity. He ignores the fact that Americans are sick of paying high taxes, sick of paying high dollars for foreign oil/gas, sick of government regulation, sick of additional/unnecessary legislation, sick of social programs mired in bureaucracy, and sick of an education system which gets worse every year. If he wants something to jump up and down on, try these issues.

Summary: Whine whine whine
Review: So Michael Moore has a grudge match with Shrub (Dubya) and his family. So Michael Moore is a cult success against Big Business as the Underdog of The People. So he can write. So what? The man reads like a white frat boy who just got fired from his first real job because he was incompetent and nobody wanted to carry his deadweight anymore. This isn't a coherent review because frankly I found his incessant whining and complaining to ring in my ears like a nasally tenor stereotype. Yuck. I was hoping for substance; I didn't find it here. Back to Molly Ivins, then.

Move along, would-be reader. Nothing to see here, nothing to see...
