Summary: woooweeee!
Review: This is the first book I've read by Michael Moore and I definitely will read more from this talented, pointedly funny author.

Nothing is safe from Moore's poisioningly honest pen, his jabs are accurate and painful. This book is not for those avid fans of our so-called " PreZZZZident" but those who are staunch democtarts, like myself will enjoy the fast-paced, funny jabs taken by the talented Mr Moore.

Summary: Almost as funny as the Bible
Review: I laughed so hard while reading this book I actually had to go to the hospital as I began coughing up bile and hallucinating. After I came to I went out and bought a bunch of guns and registered as a republican. Then I sent a bunch of money to Saudi Arabia. After that, I drove around poor neighborhoods robbing people and harrassing minorites. I then proceeded to be a complete jerk to every woman I met and made it a habit to knock over tall ladders I saw leaning up against buildings. After a few days I began to grow bored with these tactics and decided to go throw tomatoes at people leaving and entering the local wellfare office. Then I went to Canada and told everybody I met how much I thought they sucked (this was before I burlarized several hundred Canadian homes because the stupid hosers all leave their doors unlocked...morons.) So then when I got back to the states I really started being mean to arabs and even volunteered at the local weopons factory. This was after I shot a bunch of people with a gun I got from a bank...stupid bankers. So, I guess I'd say that this book had some impact on me.

Summary: Eye opening, but lacks eloquence.
Review: I am a white male, born in NYC. I am a fan of Michael Moore. I admire his bravery in a nation during a time when critics of our leadership are possible terrorists. Moore is funny, intellegent and he is what everyone who is not the richest 1% of Americans should be; inquisitive. This does not in any way lend to his ability as a writer. Stupid White Men should have been written by Manning Marable, Howard Zinn or someone who was more capable than Moore of organizing their thoughts in book form. I have been completely captivated all too many times by Moore's written work shorter in length, however, something about writing a full length book has thrown his writing off.

I do believe that this book raises some extremely important points and is quite funny as well, but I found myself re-reading pages too many times due to Moore's all over the place writing style. Too many times I have found myself captivated by this book only to have my concentration broken to go over a page again.

Moore is one of the most important Americans to be in the public eye since I have been alive, but he really needs to stick to the film medium, where he is very able to eloquently illustrate his point and keep the intelligent American citizens captivated. See "Bowling for Columbine" and "Roger and Me" as well as " The Big One", but make sure you read a bit of this book before you purchase it to make sure Moore's writing style suits your reading style.

This book is eye opening because it asks many more questions that conservatives have never provided answers for. Moore's chapter entitled "Kill Whitey" asks all important questions about race relations today. In Moore's film "Roger and Me" there is a scene where Moore shows a woman killing a rabbit because she is too poor to buy food at the store, so she must raise rabbits to eat. There is also a scene that shows Police officers murdering a black male. Moore explains (in the "Kill Whitey" chapter) that he had recieved countless criticisms from people telling him that he was inhumane showing a rabbit being slaughtered, but he points out that not one person was offended by the point blank shooting of the black man. Moore continually asks Why? Why? Why? and as he points out in this book, no conservatives can ever answer his questions.

The bottom line is I gave this 4 stars because it is important criticism on our culture, and I do reccommend that you at least borrow it, however, it would have most likely been much more provocative if Michael Moore had made a film entitled "Stupid White Men".

Summary: informative and funny but deadly cynical
Review: So far I've given away five copies [1 in German] and no doubt I'll be giving away more. It's the first book I've seen my husband read cover to cover since I met him 30 years ago!
We are so lucky that just one single person, a librarian got on the internet and made this book happen.
Michael Moore writes with simplicity and humour and in so doing is able to reach and inform a huge audience, not only the English speakers but other nationalities as well. My Chinese doctor and her 17 year old son loved it and he took it to school and discussed it with his friends.
This book is right there and will remain as one of my all time favourites and I'm looking forward to obtainung his latest book,

Summary: Stupid White Men
Review: It took an angry man to write such a book! How it is drop dead funny to know the life of America nowaday, and before. For non-American and non-white person like me, this book is completely, definitely, extremely entertaining. Some parts are too oversimplify but still blood-boiling to read.

Summary: Liberal ravings
Review: If you are a white male and racked with guilt about it, then this is the book for you.

Summary: I really, really, really tried to like this book
Review: My small but lively book club chose this as our last selection. We thought it would make for some interesting discussion, especially after viewing "Bowling For Columbine". Instead, we could barely make it through Michael's incessant whining. Although at times you can see his feeble attempts at humor, you ask yourself constantly what's his point. He offers no solutions but has a great ability to rant like a manic-depressive off their meds.

The kicker was his comments on Cynthia McKinney. At that point, he lost 100% of our respect. We decided it was time for a ceremonial book burning to rid ourselves of this inane writing.

The worst thing is that we actually purchased the books and gave him $$ to continue pumping out this crap.

Don't waste your time unless you have ample time to waste.

Summary: Stupid White Men
Review: This book is a refreshing, yet an unabated attempt to enlighten groups of people who would much rather act as if the events of a sinking society we live in do not exist. Mike Moore is a Gladiator...We can only hope more authors are as brave as he.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: brilliant political satire
Review: Easily one of the best political satires in recent years, this book expertly balances humor and and serious politics. Michael Moore, America's foremost provacateur, really has Conservatives running for cover.Perhaps even more so then Al Franken or Bill Maher, Moore takes each aspect of the Bush administration and tears it to hilarious shreds. I've read a couple of the reviews that gave this one star, obviously written by the right, and it was truly hysterical how they tried to rationalize why Michael Moore is wrong. As usual, about two sentences in, the critics give up on facts and resort to childish name calling. But what do you expect?

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Moore even worse than Franken
Review: Michael Moore is about an able a writer of books as he is a maker of "documentaries." Which means he is a talentless hack. And worse than that, a liar and a propagandist of the most despicable leftwing kind.
Somebody ought to write a book with the title, "Michael Moore is a Big Fat Idiot."
